How much do the Giants give to Rodgers, Adams, and Lazard.

And can we get a point-and-laugh in-season Hard Knocks?

Brown is the perfect WR for a QB like Hurts. If you’re going to trade anyone, it’d be Smith. He’d be more successful in an offense with a pocket QB that required precision based routes.

Yup.

And Brown is a much better fit for the offense as a whole. Love Smith, but he’s not going to make a big play with his blocking.

Complete hypothetical:

Since he was legit down the stretch and in the playoffs when he got his opportunities, wonder if anyone would trade for Dotson. Not suggesting they should, but he would probably be a pretty good WR2 on quite a few teams. His contract is affordable. And the Eagles could draft a slot WR in RD5 that would likely duplicate his production in this offense.

Just because Barkley may be better at his peak than any of them doesn't mean his decline will be more favorable.

That is true, but it also doesn’t mean his decline will be less favorable.

Time will tell us all how well projection matches reality.

I have an open mind.  I never thought a 1980's style running team with a feature back, top defense, and a low volume opportunistic passing offense could win a superbowl in 2024.  And they did it.

They defied the odds and blazed their own trail there.

Now they are venturing further down this tree limb by betting on the longevity of Barkley.  Yep, makes my head spin that they are building around and betting on the longevity of a RB.

But, this path just yielded a superbowl.  No sense turning around.

It not only delivered a SB win … it decisively delivered it.

Man it would really suck if they traded AJ.

The only receiver I could see getting traded would be Goedert unless there's a cap problem

AJ and Smith aren't going anywhere

And remember - to achieve this ,it takes everything you have - you must be willing to make sacrifices, knowing it won't be easy because 'love'.... Hurts.

One of the best decisions I made recently was to select the "hide all signatures” option.  It’s a much cleaner Blog experience.  Moving my ignore list up from zero to one has helped a lot too.

Never say never with Howie. Something to consider with the Saquon extension is that Howie clearly sees how important Barkley and the running game are to the Eagles and Jalen Hurts. Having Saquon takes all of the pressure off of Hurts to be THE guy, even though he's shown he's capable of being THE guy when called upon. This will be a run first team and they will throw when they need to.

Jalen is at his best when he's a game manager and they can rely on wearing the other team down. This is no longer a pass first team. It's a running team that can throw when needed to beat you. Just ask the Chiefs. If someone offers a kings ransom for either of the WR, there's no doubt in my mind Howie would listen.

I don’t think it would happen, but the thought did cross my mind to trade AJ for a ransom then sign Devante Adams.

Honestly, nothing would surprise me anymore. If there's a deal to be made, Howie will find it. I think he gets off on the out of no where moves where he's then touted as a genius.

Another awesome locker room guy. He wouldn't count against comp picks and could be a terrific backup to Saquon. He's on the back end of his career, might be cheap and not expect a big role. No chance it happens, but he would be a fun personality to have here.

They aren’t trading AJ or Devonta this year. I could see it happening in the future depending on how this season plays out but as of today I can’t see it. You’d be an injury away from no WRs

The way AJ's contract is. I doubt Howie will even think about it anytime soon

They won't trade either. Both will retire as Eagles

Rodgers wouldn’t go there for anything.

I think he actually wants a competitive team - the Vikings are his only choice

Its a good discussion to have and I don't really have an opinion on it yet as it stands.

Its like Foles vs Jaws/Randall/McNabb. He definitely burned bright but not for long  (yet for AJ who won't slow down for a while)

The Saquon vs Shady/Westbrook/Montgomery might be just around the corner after 1 year.

I know it was a long time ago, but we have an nfl 100th anniversary team member at RB

I don’t think Saquon can surpass Van Buren unless he’s here 5+ years AND has another 2000 yard season

I do think they would trade AJ if it was for a king's ransom and there wasn't so much dead cap space to swallow. The one guy in the league who would overpay is Vrabel. The Patriots are absolutely hungry to turn things around fast with all their cap space etc. I'd want a little more than the Tyreek deal and would think hard about it. Since we are a running team as many say here. Dotson could work as the 2 with Devante as a number 1. It's obviously a step down. But yeah there's always the right deal. And Howie knows not to be married to these guys.
