The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I think Burks comes back too. Goedert probably next on the priority list though. Figuring out what to do with him.

Lot of money, but only  3 years, which is good. If he got 17 Williams is going to get a crap ton.

Dude was probably a year or so from being out of the league and now got paid paid

I'm surprised Baun got that much.

I remember two months ago people were saying below $10M.

If I had to guess, it will look something like this

image.png.50e99a16969bca82989c0b137025079d.png

About $28mm in dead money if he completes the contract hits in 2028.

Baun really brought the entire defense together. He was so important to keep.

Burks on the cheap next. Let Dean recover. Go with Baun/Burks/Axe Jr to start

Baun's price just kept getting larger and larger, like everyone else we've been talking about. First thought 3/45 as a good deal here. Not surprised at all. DPOY candidate. Peeps are going to pay for 1 year breakout type players. The market is desperate and will way overpay. The Williams 4/84 may be eclipsed. Blah!

I was worried for awhile. SUPER happy he broke tradition because we desperately needed to keep Baun

Very happy Baun got re-signed

It'd be icing on the cake if he can bring Becton back too

Gotta walk before you run big fella.    One step at a time.

No doubt Baun was coming back. Jurgens and Blankenship extension are probably next. Becton will follow I'm assuming

It's Howie. Until you see the actual details, assume the real contract is the guaranteed money, and even then, whether the guarantees are guaranteed.

There are bragging rights numbers, and then there are take it to the bank numbers.

Goedert trade is probably likely. I'll be ok with Mayer and drafting a guy like Gunner

Howie SZN is the best SZN

No matter how you manipulate the singing bonus/option bonus, it seems likely that Baun's cap number this year should be between $4-6 million.

Also, the rush plan was to close up the gaps for Mahomes to escape through the pocket.  I think they wanted to collapse the edges and have Mahome step up into the DT's.  So I am not sure the interior being fixed would have changed the outcome.

Agree. What it came down to was that the Chiefs did not have five competent OL. No matter how they juggled, they leaked somewhere. They were outmatched in at least two places on almost every snap, even when they kept seven in to block. How bad was it? Even though Thuney was hopeless at tackle, he was better than anyone else they had. Well, except for Smith, who had primary responsibility for blocking Carter.

I have no idea why you’re even mentioning non-RBs. This entire discussion is literally about the RB position. Also, compare all those RBs’ ages to Barkley’s. He’s older than all of the players listed on that chart I provided. Barkley also had about 470 or so touches.

He had 378 regular season touches. The playoffs are extra but they are extra for everyone.

How many of the 1980-2010 RBs had modern medicine, sports nutrition, and training?

How many had a 55 + 10 rushing TD QB who is one of the 5 greatest short yardage ball carriers in NFL history to take the hardest hits for him?

Tiki was 29-31

Barry Sanders was 28-30 at a high level.

Priest Holmes was 28-30.

Derrick Henry was 25-30 and still going.

When LaDainian slowed down at 30, he had 3167 regular season touches on his tires. Barkley is at 1867

That's awesome. That was my #1 priority for them. I'm good with whatever other moves they make.

Yeah same. This was the only move I wanted to see happen, anything else I’ll trust Howie’s vision

Next steps
- Re-sign Rodgers
- Get 3 comp picks for Milton, Sweat, Becton
