I think Howie will look to draft Goedert’s replacement. Whether or not that happens will affect how Howie proceeds at TE and the Goedert contract.

Mason Taylor is someone I suspect

Dude was a high level wrestler in high school, California. Take all the kids that wrestled, really know how to use their hands well and grip strength

A poor man's  Jalen Carter.

Yup. Seems about perfect for what we’re looking for. I’m not sure he’ll last to our second though.

I dunno, he's just a solid TE, not terribly dynamic. I could see him being there at 64. Would be a great pick though.

Watch the video - he says if the money is close he wants to come back.

Obviously he's not coming back for a vet minimum or anything, but my sense was if the money is close, he'd rather be here. No idea if Howie will make an offer.

I'll bet that Howie has a number in mind. If Slay can cash in, more power to him.

How many of them were Barkley’s age today?

Age is not a discrete variable.  If you graph the physical condition/readiness of any group of individuals who are the same chronological age you will get a bell curve.  Look at LeBron, Brady and Verlander. Are they representative of their age group?  Clearly not.  They fall in the wing of their respective condition/readiness bell curves.  More tha two standard deviations from the mean.

So I ask you, where does Saquon’s condition/readiness fall in the bell curve of his chronological age?

You are trying to make something that is very complex into something simplistic.

I haven’t lately.

I like him. It’s tough to get your heart set on guys projected after the top 50. Really hard for the board to fall right for eagles to get him even if they actually want him

Last draft I flip flopped several times on my top guys and who I wanted the Eagles to draft, but my top two this year and I don't see it changing unless where they're projected to go in the draft changes are Walter Nolen and James Pearce. I'm pretty locked in on those two guys. Think they will be studs in the NFL at positions of need and will go in that range in the draft.

Love Donovan Jackson if they go guard.

A guy named Graham... wearing #55... from Michigan?   Yeah, I'd be ok with that.   But, he's not getting out of the top 5.   Same with Abdul Carter.  He'd be a great fit here... but there's no way he lasts past about pick 3.  That's the downside of winning the Super Bowl... picking so late in the draft.

Of course, the upside is pretty good too!

You're just playing all the nostalgia hits wanting a Graham from Michigan who wears 55.

. Guilty here.   But he's a pretty awesome prospect in his own right.

Yes, but the 3 moves Barkley made in the lead up to the backwards hurdle were what really makes that play so iconic.

If you cant explain it simply, you dont understand it

I've had my heart broken so many times in the past.   😢

I understood the complexity, simply. Maybe your bar for complexity is very low?

Take a look at Walter Payton age 30-33 and Emmitt Smith 28-31 for 2 more examples that destroy the sad feelings.

Looks like the negadelphinas are being highly selective with their doomsday scenarios.

Lot of money, but only  3 years, which is good. If he got 17 Williams is going to get a crap ton.

Agreed on both counts.  I have to eat some crow 🐦 🐦🐦 … I saw $12 million AAV as the top end Baun would sign for, and the upper limit of what Howie would offer.

Glad to be wrong.

I understand it just fine.  I had full blown arthritis at age 17, and as a result I’m outside the first and second deviations of the bell curve for my 1947 birth year demographic cohort.

Anyone who has taken Calculus in high school and/or college understands these simple mathematical realities.

I'm surprised Baun got that much.

I remember two months ago people were saying below $10M.

Guilty as charged.  Although I was saying under $12M.

Baun really brought the entire defense together. He was so important to keep.

Fangio really brought the entire defense together.  He put Baun in the position to succeed, and Baun delivered.

It happens. I'm not sure any of us saw that much coming. Glad it's done, but I thought they could have him and MB for 22 million.

Goedert trade is probably likely. I'll be ok with Mayer and drafting a guy like Gunner

Gunner really hurt himself at the Combine.  He is off my Board.

I do tend to agree here. The bar was set pretty low. Because everyone had no expectations and thought he was a bust. And the GA Bulldogs connection can create biases. Next to Baun and this line he can look solid if healthy. But replaceable, as we saw a JAG like Burks (who I do want to keep reasonably) because of his strengths and fit here.

I do wonder if they covet Carson Schwesinger. Seems to have the top notch instincts and smarts that would fit like a glove in Vic's defense. He has athletic ability, coverage skills and sideline to sideline speed too. I wish he packed more of a punch but I think he makes up for it being stellar in those other areas. He can improve his strength some in time.
I really like Smael Mondon, Demetrius Knight, Jeffrey Bassa as well.

I wonder who is on his radar this year in FA and the draft. Hunt was a great pick. May have our Stout for the defense.

How so? (I didn’t see his workout)
