Yes, but the 3 moves Barkley made in the lead up to the backwards hurdle were what really makes that play so iconic.

Yeah, and Goederts was more of a backwards hurdle plunge, into the end zone. Close but different. Still highly impressive of Goedert there.

Just catching up after work. I'm so glad he signed Baun. I was confident he would. Some people said Baun would want to test the market for a better deal, I thought he would stay with a team that gave him a chance, a great roster and coach and organization around him.

Howie SZN.

I'd love if Becton came back, but I do think he's replaceable. He was the weakest player on the OL and I do think it would behoove them to have a cost controlled guy there. Not just for the cap this year, but to be able to make a run at someone else down the road whether it's later this offseason or next offseason. They can find a quality RG in the draft. And we still need to see what happens with the Steelers and Seumalo. If he gets cut he could be an option as well. He'd probably be cheaper than Becton. Look at Cappa's contract as a barometer.

I would like them to draft Tate Ratledge as the OG successor.

Howie raising RB and LB markets so that others drop for him

I don’t believe Howie has raised the overall RB market.  What he has raised is the RB market ceiling for truly elite RBs.  Jahmyr Gibbs will almost surely cost the Lions more, but Kenny Gainwell won’t be affected.

I understand it just fine.  I had full blown arthritis at age 17, and as a result I’m outside the first and second deviations of the bell curve for my 1947 birth year demographic cohort.

Anyone who has taken Calculus in high school and/or college understands these simple mathematical realities.

Still puts you in the vast majority. So no, unless you are five sigma out you arent different in a statistically significant way

Dude was a high level wrestler in high school, California. Take all the kids that wrestled, really know how to use their hands well and grip strength

That worked out really well for Trevor Laws.

I dunno, he's just a solid TE, not terribly dynamic. I could see him being there at 64. Would be a great pick though.

The problem I see is he’s clearly the #2 inline TE. People might have the kids from Michigan and Bowling Green ahead of him, but they essentially play different positions.

As someone else mentioned, he twisted his ankle on a false start on his first attempt at the 40. Did all of the drills with a swollen black and blue ankle.

I was originally of the same opinion as you, but the pics got leaked so I’d wait until a team workout to evaluate him.

Niche?

I do wonder if they covet Carson Schwesinger. Seems to have the top notch instincts and smarts that would fit like a glove in Vic's defense. He has athletic ability, coverage skills and sideline to sideline speed too. I wish he packed more of a punch but I think he makes up for it being stellar in those other areas. He can improve his strength some in time.
I really like Smael Mondon, Demetrius Knight, Jeffrey Bassa as well.

That kid is interesting. Total Buzzkill he couldnt go at the combine

agree he seems like the kind of smart backer Fangio would like

Im not sure he is a Y. Probably an F at least early in his career

I think Howie will look to draft Goedert’s replacement. Whether or not that happens will affect how Howie proceeds at TE and the Goedert contract.

A number of really solid TE players in this Draft.

someone said he would only get 12 mil a year because he was a "niche" type player.

I think you are risking if he comes back and plays as well as he did prior that he doesn’t just go test free agency being that close to it (last year of his contract in 2025). He’s been hurt so some teams would be skittish. But higher chance he wants to cash in after 2025 if he plays on the last year on his deal as there’s a chance he doesn’t get another big contract after this one due to the injuries. Add on someone might just pay him more than you want if he goes to FA. Feels very Jordan hicks-esque where he cardinals gave him a contract the eagles didn’t really want to match

But Hicks brought us a good Comp Pick didn’t he?

Don’t remember. would’ve been in 2020 draft if they they did

Doubtful.

You’re talking Edge money and Baun (as much as I like him and as well as he’s done here) hasn’t done well at Edge.  It’s the entire reason we ended up signing him this past season.

The market for Baun is a niche market.

This system is literally the perfect system for him.

You are correct.  Someone did.

I’m sure the fan interaction would be way better now then it was before the nfc title game vs. the niners

I think Mack is more likely of the Chargers guys because Fangio knows him and he'll likely be cheaper than Bosa.
