You are trying to make something that is very complex into something simplistic.

I believe a big money extension for a 28-year-old RB is a risk and provided that "370” data point. You guys can attack that data point and poke holes in it.  

If you want to argue that he can be one of the outliers at the position, that’s fine too. I happen to agree.

But I’m very comfortable in my simplistic thinking that handing a big money contract to a 28-year-old coming off damn near 500 touches is indeed a risk, especially considering we tore up a contract one year into a three year deal.

He's an 11 sack a season DE when he's healthy, but he can't stay healthy. He's played a full slate of games 3 years out of 9 and none of the last 3.

He'd be a great rotation guy to have if he'd take a cheapish team friendly chase a ring deal, but I guess at 29, he'll think his injuries are behind him and wants one last starters deal.

I think both of those guys are test the market and if it doesn’t develop then we’ll offer especially Burks. Rodgers maybe they give a reasonable offer. I think he’s worth it too

The issue with Burks is really Dean's injury.  I don't think we should mess with not having that spot ready to go in week #1.

The Saquon contract is a risk. He also carried our regular season offense to a SB. I can live with that.

I get it but I doubt after paying 17 that Howie is willing to pay much for 2nd guy. They probably feel with an offseason Trotter can play and they’ll pick up another low cost guy if it’s not Burks. I’d like to see Burks back as well

I’m probably more interested in how they handle a backup for Baun. He’s the skeleton key to the defense. Can we find a guy capable of playing both off and on the ball if he gets hurt?
