Eagles TEs need to be good blockers as much as receivers and Pitts can't block. Goedert was great in the playoffs, dude is a gamer. That stiff arm vs the Packers might be the most underrated play of the playoffs.

Mayer is a plus blocker. Hawes in the draft.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Goedert is still a very, very good TE.  Still want to find a way to keep him.

No issue keeping him this season.  His cap hit is already factored into our cap space so we don't need to create any $$ to keep him this season.  An extension could free up some cap space for this season, but no need ro do anything per se.

If the Eagles had to line up today with the players under contract I’d feel good about the team. Sure Steen, Trotter and Ringo are questionable and DE needs someone but that’s a very good team especially in relation to where other teams sit now.

biggest problem is you don’t have a long snapper 😀

Probably not but my point was he probably has to hit the market to see that.  I don't think he'll preemptively take a low offer.  Same with Rodgers.  I do think Fangio likes Rodgers so I can see them paying a bit but nothing too much

One of the biproducts of the Saquon and Baun contracts is that Howie sent all agents a message that he was above all else being fair to the players in his offers … not looking for a hometown discount.  As a result, I suspect (but do not know) that getting a "second opinion” from the market might not be necessary for Burks and/or Rodgers.

I think those two guys who were up for/won defensive and offensive player of the year might be special cases but we’ll soon see

I'm just curious, and I'm not trying to start a political argument, but don't you think differing opinions are what create a strong locker room culture? I don't want everyone being lock in step. If the Eagles said you can only come here if you vote a certain way, that to me is divisive. We aren't all supposed to think the same way, but finding that common ground is what helps build that culture. I'd wager there are more "MAGA bros" on the Eagles than you think. What's great about the Eagles and their leaders such as Jalen Hurts is that he leads by example and he seems to operate under the same mindset that Michael Jordan had...which is Republicans buy sneakers too.

I also don't know why Bosa has been tagged as some bad guy. He questioned cancelling practice for protests (but supported the right to protest). He questioned how the NFL handled Coviid-19, and let's face it, there was and is a lot to question now that you look back on things. Lastly, he supports the current president (and a lot of players do). I'm not sure how any of this makes him a bad guy or how it would hurt the locker room culture the Eagles have.

If anything, Bosa has shown he's a warrior. He's played through injuries and has shown to stand up for teammates on the field. Sounds like the kind of guy that might be good to have on your team. He's not the top DE he once was, but he can contribute if he's healthy.

You make good points.  The difference between the Bosas and the current Eagle players is that the Bosas are vocal about their politics and the current Eagles are not.

Starting to wonder if Mykell Williams falls to 32

Unless it's a late, late round pick, why trade for Pitts?  He's not going to see the ball much.

You trade for Pitts because of youth and upside.. if he pans out he could be your #1 te for the future.

i understand we have AJ and Smitty now and others don’t see a lot of touches but that doesn’t mean it will always be that way or the system won’t change somewhat…  Next June AJ turns 29 his contract also raises from 17 million this year to the mid 20’s next year and you can save 12.5 million having him a post june cut or trade.

Howie has to plan for everything. Pitts has talent he had over 1000 yards as a rookie just hasn’t had much of a qb since then.. I think him and Penix could be decent but I would attempt to trade for him.

Plus you inherit his contract and it’s high dollars

Special cases or not, Howie clearly treated them fairly.  That is the precedent that Howie set.

I like Hawes but man his hands seem to be bad

Thanks.  I will return him to my Board where  had him prior to the Draft … as the 8th or 9th TE.

People need to let go of their draft assessment off Pitts and look at what he actually is. Not that good. Its ok to be wrong about prospects that get over hyped. London was a similar case.

Atlanta scouting is pretty consistently bad

He’s not a TE1 for sure. Hard to find someone good at both. Lots of college TEs smallish and mainly receivers

I get him trying to push through it, but probably did more harm than good. Pro day will matter. When is Texas?

I’d be interested if they took Huff’s contract

London is good. Pitts never really recovered his athleticism after his knee injury.

Good point.  That ankle looked like a very long healing process.  He may still be impaired when Texas has its Pro Day.

with that said, why do people like him?  As a receiver he is behind Taylor and Arroyo and as a blocker he is behind Hawes.

Of the outside free agents I think Azeez Ojulari, Kahlil Mack, Javon Hargrave, and Dre'Mont Jones are the most likely. I definitely think if they sign a notable name from the outside, it'll be DL. Maybe Chase Young, Howie likes former first rounder upside swings, but he really doesn't feel like a Fangio type guy.

According to Spotrac Huff costs just as much if he is traded or cut.  He only costs less if he is retained.
