Never mind the MAGA stuff.  Bosa’s grandfather was one of the biggest gangsters of all time who ordered the JFK assassination!

Citation? And yeah, this belongs in CVON.

Agreed and agreed.

Of the outside free agents I think Azeez Ojulari, Kahlil Mack, Javon Hargrave, and Dre'Mont Jones are the most likely. I definitely think if they sign a notable name from the outside, it'll be DL. Maybe Chase Young, Howie likes former first rounder upside swings, but he really doesn't feel like a Fangio type guy.

Jones and Hargrave were cuts, so they are much more attractive for Howie. The others have a trade cost or potential Comp Picks cost.

I think the cut guys more likely. If it’s going to cost you a 3rd or 4th rd comp then you can trade for a guy who is under a more reasonable deal

Politics aside Bosa hasn’t seemed like a likable guy to me from the outside but I haven’t spent much time thinking about it or listening to him.

Schefter: Rams and wide receiver Tutu Atwell reached agreement on a one-year, $10 million fully-guaranteed contract. The deal was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.

That’s a wild arse contract.

He also average 6 sacks over the last 5 seasons.

Partly due to the fact that he’s a major injury risk, but also in 2024 he had 5 sacks in 14 games; he had the 90th best DE PFF grade last season

Wasn’t he WR4?

Reminds me of the 2014 Maclin contract. 1 year, 6.5m

basically that the rams are lowballing him on a longterm deal and he wants a prove it year with Kupp gone

If the Eagles had to line up today with the players under contract I’d feel good about the team. Sure Steen, Trotter and Ringo are questionable and DE needs someone but that’s a very good team especially in relation to where other teams sit now.

biggest problem is you don’t have a long snapper 😀

We shall never punt... and we shall always go for 2.   Might as well cut Mann and Elliott.  Then just train a coverage guy to be able to drop the kickoff into the landing zone and we've just saved 3 roster spots!

Good point.  That ankle looked like a very long healing process.  He may still be impaired when Texas has its Pro Day.

with that said, why do people like him?  As a receiver he is behind Taylor and Arroyo and as a blocker he is behind Hawes.

Everyone is behind Hawes as a blocker

i like Helm bc he has the size and hands you want to see. Seems to run good routes and find holes in zones. Gets upfield quick. Just solid all around

taylor is better than him

Different kind of leaders.  BG and CJGJ are two peas in a pod.

Being vocal doesn't mean you are the same.  BG and CJGJ have very different styles.

According to Spotrac Huff costs just as much if he is traded or cut.  He only costs less if he is retained.

This is a little misleading, as it assumes we trade him AFTER paying his 2025 option bonus of $15.58mm. We paid him $17.25mm of cash in 2024 (singing bonus and salary), and his cap number was $4.35mm, leading to $12.9mm of dead money if we trade him BEFORE paying the 2025 option bonus. Per Spotrac, that is due before the start of the regular season. So if we trade him today, the dead cap is $12.9mm and the acquiring team owes him $16.75mm guaranteed for 2025 ($1.17mm salary and $15.58mm option bonus both gteed). Now, if we pay the $15.58mm, the dead cap goes up to $28.48mm, but it makes no sense to pay that bonus and then trade him if it isn't due until the start of the regular season. We'd only do that to get a materially better return, but we can't take a $28.48mm dead cap hit. Even the $12.9mm hit would hurt.

No team is trading anything for Huff and paying him $16.75mm for 2025. And we can't pay the bonus and then trade him. So either we split the difference with someone, or...he's stuck here.

I liked him if he got to the second or third wave of free agency. That is a ridiculous contract.

With all that length/athleticism and excelling in Zone Coverage I'm wondering if we're taking a long look

Darien Porter is a rare physical specimen at cornerback, boasting exceptional length and size for the position at 6'2", 197 pounds. His athletic profile and ability to utilize his size effectively make him a fascinating developmental prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. Porter has been a key contributor at Iowa State, showcasing a blend of physicality and coverage awareness.

Porter's size and length are his greatest assets in coverage, allowing him to disrupt passing lanes and high-point the ball effectively. He excels in zone coverage, where his awareness and leverage help him keep threats in front of him while reacting quickly to the quarterback's intentions. His long stride enables him to close ground effectively, particularly in vertical routes. However, his tight hips and limited change-of-direction ability make him vulnerable in man coverage, especially against quicker, more agile receivers. Porter's best fit is in zone-heavy schemes where he can keep his hips open and use his length and ball skills to his advantage.

I wouldnt mind having Hargrave the gravedigger  back at the right price, hed be a welcome addition to the rotation, still a pretty good pass rusher and good replacement for Milton, though hes 32 yrs old I think hes still got some left in the tank

Not sure his value on the open market

Starting to wonder if Mykell Williams falls to 32

He's one of my favorite players this draft.

No issue keeping him this season.  His cap hit is already factored into our cap space so we don't need to create any $$ to keep him this season.  An extension could free up some cap space for this season, but no need ro do anything per se.

IMO he shouldn't get an extension with more money because he's only going to miss more games

People need to let go of their draft assessment off Pitts and look at what he actually is. Not that good. Its ok to be wrong about prospects that get over hyped. London was a similar case.

Atlanta scouting is pretty consistently bad

People in here wanted Pitts

Yup, I thought Pitts was going to be a Beast and had the eagles picked him I wouldnt have been mad but Pitts has been a very average TE receiving weapon and not a very good blocker either

Definitely disappointing prospect

MAGA won the popular vote and every single swing state. It’s actually the normal stuff. Not really the knock YOU think it is.
