I've said for a while now that Baun and Becton are both appreciative of the opportunity they were given. Becton was emotional throughout the playoffs, realizing he was on a winning team and then winning the SB. He said from day 1 he was embraced by his teammates and organization.

Fans think about money only. And some players only care about money. But others care about the organization, teammates, coaches, winning and being in a good, healthy situation. Smitty took less money to stay here. Other players could have taken more to test free agency. Baun stayed here.

Not sure if they bring him back, but I have always believe Becton wants to stay here not go somewhere else.

They paid Baun 17mil per year making him the 4th highest paid LB after 1 season. I don’t think he took less to stay here. I don’t see them offering the same market value to Becton

That's fair. But I was saying months ago that they will take less money to stay here, not yet knowing what would happen. Especially after the SB and seeing/hearing them in the mic'd up and NFL Films videos sharing their comments, they were really embraced here and it meant a lot to them.

It is a reasonable take on his part.  Would be strange if he didn’t have that take.

I have never seen an offensive line have 5 guys who make $15M or more. That's the price I see these 2 guys (Jurgens & Becton) landing at. Now, may get a small home town discount on either one and bring them down to 12/13M. Still Mailata at 33M. Dickerson at 21M and Johnson at 20M is a ton of money already.

Like I said, I don't know if the Eagles will do it, but I believe Becton wants to be back.

Then again, we've also never seen Howie pay this much for a LB and RB. You never know!

I want to sign them all. Only problem is next offseason is potential contract extensions for Carter and Smith. The following offseason is Q, Coop & maybe Jalyx. Not even counting what happens with lower tier, but not exactly cheap contracts in Blankenship, Davis, Goedert & CJG. Things can change with injury and or performance. But that's how this shapes up for the next couple of years. Feel like Becton is the odd man out on offense, like Williams is the odd man out on defense. Matter of cost.

Jones and Hargrave were cuts, so they are much more attractive for Howie. The others have a trade cost or potential Comp Picks cost.

Jones makes no sense, he was drafted as DT, got shifted outside and is now a 4 sack a year DE, you're not even scratching the surface of replacing Graham and Sweat with that.

In a good draft year for D Line I just don't see the value in Dre'mont Jones especially after getting the 'maybe he gets more sacks with a better D line' calculation so disastrously wrong with Huff.

Baun and Becton seemed like guys that were exceedingly happy to be here and to win.   Sweat and Williams seemed like guys that were happy to ball out in the Super Bowl to cash in on that success.   That's their right and they are deserving of their option to maximize their earnings on the open market.   But, after the Super Bowl, they were celebrating 'getting paid' seemingly as much as they were soaking in the moment of being champions.  I didn't see any of that type of thing from either Baun or Becton.

Gotta trust that Howie knows what he's doing.

I think Becton may be like Kellen Moore (bad fit job with high money) or Ben Johnson (excel another year and pick your destination and price)

Maybe they can get him back on 1 year 8.5 m - 10m with most guaranteed plus play time and team success bonuses?

He's a bit different for a few reasons.

The absolute transformation, success, and acceptance he found in Philly

He got paid almost 20m from the Jets as a high pick so he's not looking for first time real wealth like lots of young guys who hit free agency

Williams has made about 6.8 million so far for comparison.

When you look at the money, figure the players take home about 40% after taxes, agents, etc.

I know Sweat is only 1 year older than Becton but he is probably going to get huge offers from good teams.

I think Williams and Sweat go fast during the Frank Gore period starting Monday. Becton is going to be interesting.

You aren’t looking to replace two players with one especially with a player cut by another team.  Jones would be a Graham replacement only.

Sweat and Williams may learn the hard lesson that the grass isn't always greener - Baun and Becton have seen the grass on the other side and seemed refreshed and revived after playing in Philly.

Have to sign Becton before Monday or it's over. You have 13 teams with $50M or over in cap space in a weak free agent class. Can't see him not getting a large offer once the bidding starts, now that Trey Smith is currently at 23.4M and off the market. Especially, if they value him swinging over to tackle at all. His best situation from a career perspective is the Eagles, no doubt. I honestly don't think he plays as well elsewhere on an average offensive line.

I'll have to watch the whole thing when I have some time, but I cracked up at the 3 minute mark when he took a big pull from his bottle and the camera pans around at Sirianni looking at him
