Too steep for an aging 1 year rental.

I like hording draft picks, but at same time this DL is awfully young and needs a vet and leader. This is the perfect one and is actually available and looking for a championship contender I'm sure. He's a monster. Got plenty of 3rd rounders coming next year including compensatory picks. Can spare one I think. Not sure Davis is in long term plans here. So he's a sweetener to the deal. Don't want Redskins getting this guy. Howie can make these numbers work I believe on an extension.

And that is why Howie will being Garrett 🙂

First of all Garrett is not openly available. Yet. And will cost major compensation. Second, when a player comes out like this seeking a trade and team let's him seek it like that, the Bengals will not get as much back and with only 1 year left on the deal. Also, Hendrickson will be picky here as well and not just chase money only, but pick a chamionship destination. Eagles will extend him I'm sure and give up way less compensation. He's a year older, but had 7 more sacks than Garrett the last 2 years. I like the value proposition here. Add to the great whites as well. This contract should come with less guaranteed money than you would pay for Garrett as well.

Gotta love the Bengals "strategy"

Finally find a QB

Wait to sign skill players to the point one is going to be $40M AAV and the other mid to high 20's.

Don't invest in any resemblance of an O-line.

Ship out your best defensive player on a lousy defense.

Somehow try to make the SB winning shootouts every week.

They are broke.  Always have been.

There are some cheaper alternative out there at edge as well, Ojulari from NYG who will be only 25 years old and was a Georgia bulldog could be a target.

I like Ossai from Cincy, big physical kid still young.

Also Hassan Reddick is out there, not sure if Hes on Howies or Vics radar

Alot depends  if theyre able to trade huff as well, tough to keep a guy making that much on the bench.

Hendricks is intriguing though, not sure id extend him though and not sure he wants to come somewhere for just one season.

Oh no. He clearly wants a new contract. I have to think he's ring chasing here as well. Not just about money. This move takes the sting off of losing Williams and Sweat who may cost $40M in total. Hendrickson gets $16M next year and then new contract of around $30M per.

Eagles Scout Room, if you're on here, you're a moron. Comparing Connor Barwin to Acho, Singleton and Morrow is a bad look. He was a fantastic Eagle.

Davion "i am speed” Taylor should’ve made this. Nate Gerry too

Funny there's been next to no talk about Keegan. It's not like he was taken with a 7th round compensatory pick, there were some hopes for him. Wonder where he stands on the OL and if he has starter potential. He started on a national title team.

I also found it a little strange that in the season finale against the Giants when all the backups played, they made him sit out the entire first half before putting him in. I also wonder if he has some Dillard-esque issues with only being able to play the left side. As I recall, that was sort of a knock coming in and I don't recall ever seeing him at right guard in preseason.

All that being said, I still like him and I suspect the Eagles do too.

It's hard to believe they actually made the Super Bowl a few years back. Does anyone even remember one thing about the Rams-Bengals SB? Maybe one of the most forgettable SB of the modern era.

The Rams won.

Yea but their overall roster building is also broken. Everything is broke in Cincinatti

I'm not sure he's wrong, and I'm not sure it matters.   In the 1970s, would anyone have placed Bob Griese in the very top tier of NFL QBs?  And yet.. he went to 3 straight Super Bowls, winning 2 and has an undefeated season on his resume.

But, most folks likely had Tarkenton, Staubach, and a few others rated higher than him - maybe Fouts, Stabler and Bradshaw all were on that list higher than Griese.

That's a nice comparison and I can definitely appreciate it. I was really into the Dolphins in those days. Even though every one of us in school were probably Eagles fans at heart, we all had another team that we rooted for as an alternate just to keep football watching enjoyable. Mine was Miami.

The Bengals crying poor is overstated.

They now get 4 million or so a year from naming rights (starting in 2022) but they chose to have Daddy's name on the stadium for 20 years.

That's only a drop in the bucket. They clear about 65-90 million in profit a year  (Covid 2020 was bad for everyone)

Every team in the NFL gets something like 400m a year from the revenue sharing pie.

This is not the Reds vs the Dodgers.

Teams like the Lions and Packers usually make less profit than the Bengals. They pay their players for the most part.

One issue Mark Davis really struggles with is the escrow. Why they traded Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. Jeffrey probably has half a billion in his right now

wouldnt be surprised if the Browns (Bengals owners) are wary of that as well

If Hendrickson is willing to play for  1 year it would be a pretty good move but at age 30 id guess hes looking for one more pay day

We'll see this DE market is pretty stacked which could also drop pass rushers in a heavy DL  draft down the board.

The Raiders are interesting. Al Davis was just a football schmoe. He bought 10% of the Raiders in 1966 and bought the other 90 in 1976.

He never had outside money.  I don't have all the details of the Davis cash liquidity situation but all those moves and lawsuits sure did not help.

This last move probably did set them up for long term success but he is probably still digging out somewhat.

I think Davis has a net worth around 2 billion and Brown around 4 billion.

Lurie is 5.3. Jerrah is 16.9

Lurie was buried in debt when he bought the Eagles but its helped him to no end that he is great at running a successful NFL team.

Was a requirement in the '70s.  Because the Eagles were going nowhere.  I kind of rooted for the Raiders (at least in the playoffs) and ironically, for me personally, as I don't do Fantasy Football, I rooted for a variety of players or groups of players, like Billy White Shoes Johnson, Earl Campbell, Tark and the Purple People Eaters, John Brodie (Niners early 70s) (and for the dumbest reason-I saw an NFL Football Follies where someone stepped on his hand or something like that but I was 9 or 10).

Doesn't make sense in my opinion.

I'm all about adding to D line thru the draft. But still could use a vet and a legit starter for this group. Rather have Hunt on the bench to start the season. Hendrickson also adds some needed beef at DE. Light right now. See this as he's here for 2-3 years. Gives a chance for youngens to develop in meantime. Need several linemen right now with Sweat, Williams and Graham most likely gone.

It has to make dollars and sense for this to work. Will see. If the trade compensation isn't staggering I'm there. Howie will make the numbers work and not jeopardize us long term. For me this is all in lieu of signing Becton, Williams or Sweat.

Yup Barwin was a pro bowl 34 edge, the other three are all journeyman 43 off ball LBs.

Not a good look at all Eagle Scout Room...

Singleton is a good player… team captain and Walter Payton man of the year for the broncos.. to bad he tore his acl in like week 3 this year and still played the rest of the game thinking it was something minor.

DC taking Deebo's 17m

LA paying Tutu Atwell 10m

Texans taking Christian Kirk's 16.5m

Godwin, Cooper, and Adams right now.

I liked singleton, Barwin was better and also played a different position
