Should Jalen expect a call from the league? Can anyone explain what he means by this?

High draft picks can absolutely contribute.

And your argument about one injury applies to the OL as well. If you let Becton walk, and promote Steen, who’s to say Keegan can play if Steen or Dickerson gets hurt?

We already have to draft a backup OT. Do you want to end up like the Chiefs in the Super Bowl?

I’d much rather have proven depth on the OL than DL, given most depth is going to come from the draft for both units. Becton is a pro bowl caliber player and a key player to our entire style of offense. We are already 3 deep at both DT and DE with proven depth, but only have one guy of any confidence on the OL.

On top of that, Becton is a proven commodity, as opposed to a projection.

Dude all you is argue his unicorn projection

wtf you talking about 😄😄

Nothing. Same as it used to be. As has been mentioned, most everyone likely does it, but it’s so hard to prove, short of leaving an electronic trail, or having a direct party openly admit to communications. I don’t know what Cousins said last year, but he alluded to communications, whereas the reports that we tampered with Barkley came from a non-direct party. They got hit and we didn’t.

I also think there's a practicality to how early you're going to negotiate a non-binding agreement.  I think that's why it builds from discussions at the combine to full negotiation in the tampering windows + probably the weekend before.  From the hard knocks discussions it didn't look like the Eagles had the i's dotted and t's crossed that early with Saquon

Given that KC wanted to stay in and put up garbage time points... I can't say that I blame him.

But, why would the league call Jalen about it?  There's nothing illegal about it.  There's no rule that says a team has to take their foot off the gas at any point.   Generally they do, because its a great opportunity to get the young guys some real reps and to preserve your starters for the next week... but there's no rule against running up the score.

40-22 is such a garbage end score for that beating.  40-6 is the real final score.

Maybe I just don't understand what he's trying to say, but in this hyper sports gambling world we live in, the term "If i had Philly" sounds like  a gambling term to me. I could be way off, but it's just the way it sounds to me.

Under the radar player I’d like to have back is Fred Johnson. I think he’s a pretty good backup tackle.

Honestly, I took it as a gambling reference as well.

Agreed I think he started 6 games last year and we were fine for the most part. Not perfect but fine.  Exactly what you want in a backup

Garafolo: The #Bills and LB Terrel Bernard have agreed to terms on a four-year, $50 million deal with $25.2 million guaranteed, sources tell Bernard draft-pick announcer @KyleBrandt, me and @RapSheet.

The LB market is blowing up

If he got 12.5 not surprised Baun got 17.

The line was Chiefs -1.5, IIRC.  So, that wouldn't be an issue.   And the money line is relevant only with who wins.   The over/under was still in doubt at 40-6, but by pulling the starters and the Chiefs leaving the starters in, got the over anyway.

Not sure what gambling aspects mattered at that stage of the game at 40-6 that would have mattered.  The only thing that might have would have been specific player prop bets.  That's not a 'Philly' thing though.

I think people are reading too much into it.  Seemed like he was just gloating a bit. Smart money was on us type of thing

Would you guess the Eagles sign over/under 2.5 guys from other teams this FA period?

Qualifying UFAs definitely under.  Total FAs including ones that aren’t qualifying definitely over.

That's why he wants out of Cincy..he asked for a new contract last year and they didn't..now he still hasn't been approached and Cincy seeing what Crosby just got

as well as the overpay for the DT in Dallas ...he wants his $$$$$

Even if he gets an extension now the current year salary doesn’t change.  The $$$$$ come in the future years.

So if he comes to the Eagles and plays for the current contract salary, wins a Super Bowl, then hits the market as a UFA with glowing production numbers that he will get by being on this incredible Defense, he will get a superb contract extension, quite probably a better one than he can get now.

It is a recipe for more $$$$$ over the same or possibly even longer period … but with some of the cash coming to him 12 months delayed.

That would be sweet but I suspect the only way a team is interested in trading for Pickett is training camp desperation.

No.  100% serious.  What was the last game the Eagles played where the Opposition was able to establish their running game?

I felt as though you'd move goal posts and say it was garbage time or something else if I actually mentioned the last game

Week 16 against Commies is one I found. They rain for 113yds

It's why, of all the guys that are likely to sign elsewhere in a few days, I have no issue with him leaving.

Yeah. He had nice things to say about playing in Philly, and the fans were wishing him well and then that. It's not a big deal in the scheme of things, but makes an unnecessary negative reaction like why did you have to say that. Just weird vibe.

Thoughts on Landon Jackson as possible draft pick?
