1. Allen likely isn't going to cost 18mm. Maybe the AAV will be that thanks to BS non-guaranteed years, but the Commanders just cut him instead of paying him that.

2. Williams is long gone, let it go. And he likely gets more than 21mm AAV.

I am just saying if we can get Williams at 4/84 I am jumping on it. Still. I would pay Milton $5M more than Allen, based on age and budding chemistry with Carter. The prices are only going way higher. Lock him in. Peeps are underrating this guy's value going forward and positional versatility. If it wasn't for cap space, this is exactly the signing Howie would make in free agency. He did it for Huff, who wasn't even as promising.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Who are some guys who might be considered busts that we maybe consider taking a flyer on either for late round draft pick or sign in FA to compete at RG...  Some names I've come across are Jedrick Willis, Evan Neal, etc.

This feels like a trap. Commanders feel like they're in a SB window and are flush with cap space, why would they be so eager to move on?

If I remember correctly, I feel like there were rumors last year they wanted to move him.  I think this has more to do with being able to save $16 million and allocating it to another player. Plus Dan Quinn might believe he is not a great fit for what he wants to do. My personal belief with Carter he’s gonna see a ton of 1 on 1s which will help him. i imagine there’s some decline but alongside Carter i think he could have a renaissance. I’d take a shot on him at the right price over Hargraves or dremont jones

Cleveland rocks!

I'd pay Allen 8 for one year and spread the hit. He'll probably get more but he'd be worth 8-10 to eagles

I remember Chris Jones saying he can afford losing those game checks

Hear you. But he's getting way more than that. I'm guessing around $15M per. He got cut at the right time to get paid again where there's tons of cap space out there.

Yep at 15 that's too rich even tho it would be probably a one-yr deal you could spread.  But it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a 2-yr deal with 20+ guaranteed with a total at 30 or over

I get that he is 30, and maybe they didn't want to give a huge money extension, but if they believe Daniels is the man...makes no sense not to go all in while he's cost controlled. I know he was hurt in 2024, but he was damn good when he played.

The supply of defensive lineman that are available...this should be a buyer's market for Howie.

He had one year left with no guaranteed money. I believe he didn't have guaranteed money last year either. I'm sure he wanted a new contract and maybe hinted he wouldn't play without one. They locked up Payne to big money and used pick #36 last year on a DT.

Unhappy player + don't want to extend + in house replacements = trade or cut

Counter points -- they have a good QB on a rookie contract, insane amounts of cap space, and he was only going to cost $18mm this year. Keep him, if he holds out you're in the same place. If he plays and then leaves next year, you may get a comp pick.

I'd understand trading him. But I wouldn't release him unless I needed the cap space, which they don't.

I don’t think they sign him as i think still winds up being too much money, but I would be surprised if the Eagles didn’t have interest in him. It feels like when the Jaguars released Malik Jackson. And the Eagles didn’t want to lose a comp pick and he was entering his 30s off a down year in 2018. they essentially gave him a deal thinking alongside cox he’d have a renaissance

I love having an ownership advantage, but it’s total BS that cash poor relic Mike Brown still owns that team.

Big news today

FWIW, the DT that screams 1 year, low dollar deal to chase a ring is...Calais Campbell. He may be old as dirt, but he can still play. Played on a 1 year, $2mm deal for the Dolphins last year and still produced. Sign him after the comp pick period ends.

I just think there's going to be some silly spending out there. So the bargains will be hard to find. Will have to wait til the 2nd and 3rd wave. That's where Howie is pretty good. But do think Howie does sign (that doesn't affect compensation formula) or trade for a pretty high profile vet free agent, if Sweat or Williams are in fact gone. I don't think he's going cheap there with just draft picks coming in and low salary vets.

I said this the other week, I would not be surprised within five years that Joe Burrow asks to be traded from Cincinnati. Their ownership stinks.

For those of you still wanting to buy some Super Bowl gear - if you have a Dunham's sports near you, check them out.  The local one here has a rack of the exact same nike stuff from the Fanatics website and it's currently all 50% off

They are also trying to rebuild their culture post Snyder. Holding him hostage doesn't do that.

From ESPN

"Earlier this month, the team had granted Allen permission to seek a trade after telling him they were not going to extend his contract, sources said. Allen was entering the final year of his deal with a $15.5 million base salary and no more guaranteed money remaining. Sources said a handful of teams expressed interest in Allen but anticipated his release and felt they could sign him to a more desirable deal."

Feels like the toothpaste was just too far out of the tube to just keep him around.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Calais Campbell just doesn’t sign somewhere until after training camp.

Don’t know what the succession plan is, but Brown ain’t lasting 5 more years.

I just find it hysterical that Josh Harris is their savoir that will improve culture and help the team win. Josh Harris...

I know Dan Snyder is in the HOF of terrible owners, but it's like they went from full blown AIDS to just having HIV. It's still not a good thing.

Yup. That's what I said yesterday. Going have to be at least a 3rd rounder (top of the round). Or maybe a mid to late 3rd rounder and a player. Ideas: Jets 2026 3rd rounder and Davis. My number 1 idea. Would do Huff if they were enamored. But for a stud like that my first scenario is what you will have to pay. Don't want give up a 2nd rounder. I'm replacing Davis's 15-20 snaps (counting the playoffs) in this year's draft and not paying him $13M in year 5. And I'm not extending him either. Too many mouths to feed going forward.

Hopefully for Cincinnati it’s sell the team. But I’d assume it just gets passed down to a family member.
