Eagles history begins and ends with Jalen Hurts to that guy.

I'd even argue that the 4th down on the drive where they were trailing in that SB that led to the Ertz go-ahead TD might have actually been bigger, even though less iconic.  Punting there is what so many teams over the years would have done to trust their defense to get the ball back for them... but Doug knew that was a plan to fail.  So, he rolled the dice and the rest, as they say, is history.

Iconic / most memorable / play that will be remembered in history is definitely the Philly Special. The play called itself makes it so much more legendary and nothing comes close.

But if you are strictly asking which going for it on 4th down call was more ballsy, I’d argue either of those other plays carried way more downside of not making it given the clock situation and where we were on the field. The downside to Philly special was more limited with just 30 secs left in the half and giving the ball up whilst the other team is pinned to their goal line. However, it did come at a time in the league when analytics weren’t all the rage and it wasn’t frequent to go for it but in hindsight going for it is obvious.

The Ertz call gets points for SB and being in 4th quarter, whilst the bomb to AJ gets points for calling and making a deep shot play rather than playing it safe in that situation.

He couldnt decide if he wanted to use 'being traded' or 'headed'

If you had your choice but you had to pick one of:

Eagles signing Becton

Eagles signing your choice of free agent pass rushers(so excluding trades for guys like Garrett or Hendrickson)

Which would you choose?

Becton on the cheap

Becton easily

Though if Garrett was an option... thanks for the memories Becton

Equal money?

I'm enjoying our team being reigning SB champs, having a stacked young roster primed for a repeat, still making contract moves, flexibility in the draft with no desperate needs (every team has needs, which is why I said no desperate).

While the rest of the league is doing so much trading, trying to figure things out, so many players wanting to hold out & demand trades, decent veterans being cut as cap casualties.

Close-ish. But point is for the exercise, signing one disallows the other.

CJGJ killing the suggestion he would be upset about Barkley's contract.

He's saying his recent posts didn't have anything to do with the Eagles.

How it started: this tweet (people assume a reference to Slay not naming him as a leader to step up since he's gone.)

I guess no one shared those tweets about him being upset about Barkley's contract. I only saw tweets about him feeling some way about Slay not naming him as a leader once Slay leaves

It clearly had to do with what Slay was saying. This isn’t new news.

Becton. He’s better than the free agent DEs, younger, and integral to our running success.

The new news is him saying he doesn't have an issue after Barkley getting his contract extension, after fan suggested it. I gave the context in case anyone wasn't aware.

Him saying it wasn't the team is him basically saying Slay's not on team anymore so he's playing semantics and a jab at Slay.

I don’t know why anyone would suggest it had anything to do with Barkley, unless they missed all the deleted tweets and talk about him directly responding to Slay.

Yeah idk. Was just scrolling & saw what CJGJ had posted. Just saw a fan joke that Big Dom must've made guys delete tweets, I didn't know that stuff was happening.

I’d rather have Harold Landry or Chase Young if the money was equal

Just watched an outdated thing about US sports calling themselves world champions and how ridiculous that is a country’s national league can say they’re better than the rest of the world….

But it’s absolutely accurate.

If you were to make a global basketball league, and put 30 teams around the world, one team in Japan, one team in Brazil, one team in UK, etc, and instead of giving them the best players of their country (because some countries have very few -if any- star caliber players), you take all 400 of the greatest basketball players anywhere on earth and distribute them to each of the 30 teams, they’ll end up looking EXACTLY LIKE THE NBA!

Giannis, Jokic, Luka, Wemby… if there is a great basketball player somewhere in the world, he’ll make his way to the league. The NBA is the global league, just played in America. As is the NHL, as is MLB. American Football is a little different, only because 95% of the best players are Americans, so they take that World Champions moniker effortlessly.

It's true but also a weird flex... no one else in the world is dumb enough to put on short shorts, singlets, and run around and play that ridiculous Aussie rules footy except for our lovely neighbours. They don't go around calling themselves world champions .

Re. MLB, NBA, NHL - i agree that they will be very clsoe but not quite. Some Euroleague plays sneak into the NBA, same for NHL. For MLB it would be players Japan. There are players playing in those leagues that are capable of playing in the American Leagues but dont for other reasons. NFL on the otherhand, it will be exactly the NFL

Personally, I think world champions as a term better fits for winners of tournaments where countires are competing against each other e.g soccer, criciket, rugby world cups etc, and not for franchise sports (which all those sports also have). There is no doubt US would be world champions if those sports had those torunaments(except hockey which would be competitive).

I like Landry and he wont cost a comp pick but I think he goes for more than we can afford.

Just watched that Eagles NFL Films style recap of the Super Bowl finally.

Crazy how this is the 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years they have been to, would have won the first if not for a BS call at the end of the game and won the second won and still it feels like we aren't done.  It's such an incredibly good core that is still in it's prime.

Only thing that is stopping this team from winning another over the next 2 years is injuries.  Didn't think I'd be able to see another era that surpassed the early 00s Eagles in sustained success but we are in the midst of it.  Hopefully the midst and not the tail end, but even if that is the case then what they have done the past 4 years surpasses that 5 year run by the Eagles in the early 00s.
