I like Landry and he wont cost a comp pick but I think he goes for more than we can afford.

I agree. Most of the available DL will get paid. Dre’Mont Jones is probably more possible.

Landry was making I think 17-19m this season. No one traded for him, which likely means aside from thinking he'll get cut, they also don't think he's worth that money. So he'll get less than that. He'll get less than Sweat will get.

I've heard people say they don't think the Eagles will sign an Edge unless it's a guy for like 8m. That's not happening either. If the Eagles sign an Edge it will likely be in the 12-15 range. Even below average linemen in this market get like 8m. I think you can get Landry for 12-15m. Not sure about Mack. I saw Joel Corry project him to get 2 years 45m which is ridiculous for a 34 year old. I can't see that being accurate. If it is, no way the Eagles go there. If he can be had in the 12-15 range and he's willing to leave I'd be stunned if the Eagles weren't in it pretty heavily.

I’m late on this, but I think Vegas got a great deal on Geno. I know he doesn’t make them a contender, but he’s pretty good and can be a bridge until they’re in position to go after their long term QB, whenever that is. Pittsburgh should have topped that. The Giants should have too unless they’re trading up to 1.

The Giants had Geno before for a brief time …. a few regimes ago.  I don’t think they could sell him to the New York fan base.

My guess is the Giants will bring in Fields as a bridge QB ….. which, is actually worse.  I think they’ll feel compelled to trade up for Ward.  In actuality, this is a draft to try to find your QB later than Round 1

Eagles had a 3 point lead with 30 seconds left in the half at the Patriots 1 yard line.  It was ballsy but at the same time if they didn't get it then they were still almost certainly still going into half with a 3 point lead.

This was 4th and 5 and midfield with just over 2 minutes left in the half with a 2 point lead after the Redskins just scored 9 unanswered points (missed field goal on their TD the previous drive). If the Eagles didn't get that 4th down then the Redskins are likely closing out that half with anywhere from a 1 point to a 6 point lead heading into half with complete momentum and 12-17 unanswered points as the Eagles wouldn't have scored since the 1st quarter.

That 4th down play drastically shifted the direction of the momentum of the game and really opened it up for the Eagles.

How about 4th and 26?

I didn't understand this trade he was paying well here but I guess we got another Russian back from Toronto

Expiring contract. They had no intentions of keeping him when they traded for him.

Exactly.  Now we hope the Flyers spiral into a top 10 pick.

Appropriate.

Do you think anyone gets re-signed before Monday?

How was 4th and 26 a ballsy 4th down call? They had no other option than to go for it there and get it or the game was over.  There was a minute left in the game and they were down 3 points.

It was simply agreeing to disagree. You want to argue for the sake of arguing. I will not believe he is the sole reason since his snaps are so low. You seem to believe he's the reason

Hence me wanting to end this

You could have said that many replies ago.  Following your gut rather than following data often makes sense, and this may be one of those instances.  I don’t believe it is, but that is me following my gut.

The money won’t be equal.

No it won’t. I’ll be surprised if they pay for a RG. By reports they want to trade Goedert (if you believe reports) I think it’s apparent they recognize that they have a lot of cap on O and need space for D.

That is why the reclamation of Huff’s value, either with on field play or through including him in a trade for either Hendrickson or Garrett, makes sense.

I think one player will be signed or return to this defense over 10 million still is my guess

If I were them I would use their second pick to take the QB from Mississippi.

Agree. Have to think Brady is driving the plan now.

build the lines then get the rookie qb

Maybe Landry. Landry is arguably better than Sweat as is. Landry and a 4th rd comp pick for less than Sweat has to be appealing. But then again I don’t know what these contracts will be. Probably all higher than I think with one or two exceptions

Guy I keep coming back to is Azeez Ojulari as the lone non-released FA the Eagles might sign during the early window. Only 25, rate stats are good, played with half the Eagles defense in college, long arms, and he's getting off that shiddy MetLife field. If Spotrac is somehow right for once ($7.6m/yr), I don't know if the Eagles could resist.

Another Andy Reid special. The guy would employ anyone of the worst character if it helped him win.
