Guy I keep coming back to is Azeez Ojulari as the lone non-released FA the Eagles might sign during the early window. Only 25, rate stats are good, played with half the Eagles in college, long arms, and he's getting off that shiddy MetLife field. If Spotrac is somehow right for once ($7.6m/yr), I don't know if the Eagles could resist.

So he choked someone? What a weird way to say that

Maybe Landry. Landry is arguably better than Sweat as is. Landry and a 4th rd comp pick for less than Sweat has to be appealing. But then again I don’t know what these contracts will be. Probably all higher than I think with one or two exceptions

The one thing that might help costs stay down a little is the glut of available players at the DL positions, AND the depth of the draft at DL.

Nope, which is why I said that.

Thoughts on signing EDGE Azeez Ojulari? Was teamates with our current Georgia crop of defenders. Turns 25 this year, which is almost hard to believe. He would count against the comp pick formula, however. Not sure of cost, similar to the Huff deal or possibly a little less?

Two EDGE defenders that are more 2nd rounds; Jared Ivy being one. I love the size which Vic may really want to add to the line. Bradyn Swinson is another that has explosion and speed that should translate well.

A third DE with good size is Sai'vion Jones. Should be there with our 2nd, maybe slides to round 3 even. I like Ivey and Swinson a little bit more, but Jones has that great size with athleticism which isn't the easiest to find and would be a nice additional to the line.

I've mentioned the #Giants are corner shopping. Another CB they may take a run at is the #Eagles' Isaiah Rodgers, per source.

Rodgers, 27, won a Super Bowl and has value as both an outside corner on defense and on special teams, including as a speedy returner.

Started 3 of his 15 regular season games for Philly last season, plus contributed throughout the playoff run

He'll still likely be back, but worth noting.

It makes the most sense for both parties and he won't be very expensive.

Ahh. I thought maybe there were reports saying so.

If Rodgers goes to NY, I hope their entire locker room loves his tattoo.

Not reports. Most beat guys think he'll be back for what that's worth. I don't think they'll go into camp with just Ringo at outside corner and if they're gonna add a corner, it makes the most sense to me to just keep Rodgers who knows the system and likes it here than go out and get some other guy. And if Rodgers does walk then I think that probably indicates they think they can get Slay back on a cheaper deal. I'd be pretty surprised if Slay and Rodgers both go.

Crazy!! I don’t understand making millions and throwing it all away with stupid crap! While most of us struggle to make our couple dollars working our ass off and trying to do everything right!

former chiefs wr Toney attempted to strangle a women just a couple of months ago seems crazy!

As per usual the Chiefs won't discipline Worthy. He'll be suspended by the league for like 6 games, he'll return and play like nothing happened. Rightly or wrongly, they'd let a murder slide if Reid liked the guy as a player.

The eagles are also high on Eli Ricks… but I agreed it makes sense to try and sign Rodgers. Unless they are swinging for the fences with someone like Samual JR(but I think they look comp picks to much to add someone in his salary range)

The Eagles threw him a life line when he was suspended.  He publicly has expressed his appreciation for that.  Don’t know how much of a factor that is, but it definitely is something in the Eagles’ favor.

The charges will end up being dropped and nothing will come of it.

I wouldn't.   The Eagles FA wallet is light and they have to sign draft picks.  Slay wants big money.  This is Rodgers opportunity to cash in as much as possible.   Likely the Eagles just won't have the depth they had last season in the D backfield.

I'd love to have Rodgers back but if it would truly be a Ringo/Rodgers competition opposite Mitchell then they can't pay Rodgers starting CB money.  I think he already has a few, nice offers on the table.

It's also possible the Eagles are going to line up DeJean opposite Mitchell and figure out the nickel and dime in FA/draft.

A big reason I think it's important is you can supplement any DL in the draft and you're unlikely to do that via CB. It's not a great CB draft, for one. But the secondary this past season was just as important as the DL play. For most of the season I think the secondary outplayed the DL. It's just that the SB was the lasting memory for people because of recency bias. Not sure how much they like Ringo either. Not saying they dislike him, but he was a guy they invested a quality pick on and Rodgers was first man up when Slay went down. Doesn't speak well for Ringo. At least in Fangio's eyes.

I woke up truly believing that they will:

  • Give Goedert a 2-year extension to lower his cap number this season
  • Resign Rodgers, Burks, and Fred
  • Be aggressive and draft both a quality Edge and DT early in the draft
  • Pick up a RB and other depth pieces on day three
  • Walk away with three valuable comp picks in 2026

Let's Hunt!

I don't disagree.  This was the best D backfield I think I have ever seen as an Eagles fan.  My first favorite DB was Bill Bradley.  This team just shut down passing games, and they weren't a sack machine dline.  Nonetheless,  Rodgers has a chance for 3 years $24 million with $15 million guaranteed.   Not sure we can do that.

To me Fangio seemed rather indifferent to him. He said during one of his PC’s that Rodgers and Ringo are basically the same in his eyes, Rodgers just slightly ahead because of consistency. I don’t think coach speak applies to Vic and he kinda just tells it how it is. Even if it was coach speak he’d be propping up Ringo to kinda put down Rodgers which wouldn’t really make sense.
