FWIW, there is no such thing as choking that is not attempted murder. You die without oxygen. Maybe I will only try to kill you a little bit is not really a defense. I'd love to see the NFL hit him with a year ban.

Either way he should be on the exempt list today. You don't wait for a trial over this.

By the letter if the law you need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt you had intended to kill the victim. That's hard to prove depending on how the act went down. If you remove your hands from someone's throat during strangulation then it's very easy for a defense to argue they didn't intend to kill the victim, otherwise they wouldn't have stopped. Those charges are more common when a victim gets strangled until they pass out, the perpetrator thinks they're dead and leaves the body somewhere showing they think they killed the victim.

I can't think of many QBs in the last 12 years with more negatives leading up to the draft than Shedeur. Maybe Johnny Football?

He is not a high end NFL QB. He has a pop gun for an arm. He does not run (he has some bogus and useless 4.68 40 time but he was too superior to run at the combine) He played against often inferior competition with one of the greatest athletes of the last 25 years in Travis Hunter.

Cam Ward can skip the combine because he has a gun of an arm. His worst draft slot is 3. The most likely outcome is he goes 1 to the Titans or another team trades up to 1 to take him.

The BYU game was a horror show. He's going to beat the Chiefs, Broncos, and the Chargers now?

Not only did he not work out. He made several teams feel as if they were beneath him. Oh no, Loud Daddy is upset that poor attitude has consequences! The Loud Daddy reaction quadruples how bad this story is. No NFL team wants Deion Sanders using his platform to assault them. For a kid with a pop gun arm? Hard pass!

Dude was 13-12 as a major program QB with the Heisman winner at WR1. People thought TCU and Nebraska were big wins at the time. Both teams finished 5-7

The records of all the teams Shedeur beat in FBS college.

  • 5-7
  • 5-7
  • 5-7
  • 3-9
  • N/A  (not Division 1)
  • 8-5
  • 8-5
  • 4-8
  • 4-8
  • 5-7
  • 8-5
  • 5-7
  • 3-9

They did this with 3 RBs in 2024 and 2 RBs in 2023 who were decent ypc backs who barely got the ball because Colorado was just a showcase Shedeur football team. Colorado was 3rd in '24 and 8th in '23 in pass play %

Shedeur needed the combine but he and daddy were too arrogant to see it.

  • He is the face of NIL bling entitlement. He wore bling to the combine... reminds me of another QB who did not take things seriously
  • He is the face of meddling parent.
  • He could be the next Tebow level circus as a backup.

I can only think of 3 "I will not play there" QBs in the last 40+ years.

  • Elway - clear and obvious #1 overall (very specific to Indy after the draft)
  • Eli - QB royalty with a father and brother in the league at his position (specific to SD)
  • Shedeur - Big mouth daddy saying things about not going to bad fits. (general superiority with lots of cities beneath him)

He's not being persecuted. He is being evaluated. You jump through hoops when you have the chance to be signed for millions of dollars.

The hoops are beneath this superior being from a superior family. NFL teams have taken notice. His stance says "I am rich and I do not need to go in the top 5 or even the top 10" This should be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

No on the field success. (do we want to count Jackson State while throwing to a Heisman winner ? He lost both bowl games there anyway )

Zero special abilities

Annoying as hell Daddy baggage.

My hope is that the Giants are so desperate as to look past all of this.

After this, I kinda hope the Eagles draft him just to read your dissertation.

I think Greg Rousseau's contract sets the floor for Sweat.  Maybe not 4 years, but annual value and guaranteed $$ percentage.

I think this is close.

Sweat just won a SB and was huge in the game.

He will have bidders.

His high stats are better than Rosseau. 11 sacks to 8

So maybe add 15% to Rosseau as the Sweat floor?

I forget. How many comp picks can a team get? 3 or 4?

I think Sweat gets less than him. He's 3 years older with long term knee concerns. Rousseau is an ascending player, I don't believe Sweat is viewed as ascending.

4 is the max

Does Fangio have to say anything when he had 1 snap in the WC and Divisional round, garbage time snaps in the NFCCG and then a healthy inactive in the Super Bowl?

Nope.  Actions always speak louder than words anyway.

Fangio:

Potential leaving UFAs

  • Becton
  • Williams
  • Sweat
  • Gainwell
  • Rodgers
  • Burks
  • Fred Johnson

We can easily sign 2-3 low-level free agents and still get the max 4 comp picks.

Marquise Brown can earn "up to $11M,” so he needs to reach incentives to make a little more than Tutu Atwell. Makes no sense.

That one makes sense, the Atwell deal is the outlier.

Spring Training is an annual ritual.  Don't hate, appreciate that warmer weather is nigh.

I don’t see anything wrong with the price, i just wonder with his age how much they’ll actually get out of him.  By all accounts if the aim is to change the culture, Geno has always seemed to be a good dude.

I think they go for the qb next year in a much better class. Try to find a cornerstone this year like a tackle

I'm guessing Fangio didn't want to show anything for the 2025 preseason opener.

Proceeded to watch it in it’s entirety.

It's amazing how Baun was a monster from week 1 in Brazil thru the conclusion of the Super Bowl. It's funny how both Baun and Barkley agreed to terms on March 11th last year. Talk about Howie having a really good day at work that day.

It's in that range.  Sweat also has 8 more sacks than Rosseau over the past 4 seasons.

That is certainly within the realm of possibility. That seems like an old Raiders type move though.

I would say that too, except Tom Brady is really close to shedeur Sanders and has worked with him. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Tom Brady is all in on Sanders and the Raiders follow what Brady says to them.

The phillies could use the practice cause half the guys are in nlds vs Mets mode

There’s a lot to sanders to like…but there’s also A LOT to not like.  He’s a strange horse to tie your wagon to.

I’m not a huge shedeur sanders person but Tom Brady is close with Deion and shedeur. Invited shedeur to workout with him when he was in Tampa. And he supposedly they talk frequently. Brady signed him yo a NIL deal. Like shedeur and Brady have both discussed it. I don’t think Brady would advise the raiders just to take him cause of that closeness. But i do think Brady believes in shedeur

IMO once you take away the Sanders name and the minor circus around it he’s a 2nd round caliber prospect.  He’s accurate with the ball, accustomed to playing behind a weak OL, and one would think he has some good advice from those who have played at a high level.

Conversely, he’s not big, not fast, not dynamic like his father was, and doesn’t have a big throwing arm.  To me, he’s a bit bigger Bryce Young without the big school system experience.  Just like you said — I wouldn’t tie my wagon to him.  Let someone else try to develop him.

I don't know who is hosting on WIP right now but he may have had a psychotic break. They should pull him off the air.

I had left it on in another room and could barely hear it until he started screaming. He just kept screaming.

He's easily the best pocket passer this draft.  Sees the field beautifully, delivers on target into tight windows, anticipates and can throw guys open, throws a nice long ball- his arm strength is pretty close ro Hurts.  He was asked to do way too much at CU and paid a price for it.  This past season, if CU had any semblance of a defense, especially a run defense, they would have easily been in the playoffs. I think he will be a very good QB in the NFL.

Was his voice also obnoxiously annoying? Sounds like Hunter Brody
