As if this morning, we are looking to replace two starters (Slay and Becton), two rotational DLs (Sweat and Williams), and four key backups (Gainwell, Rodgers, Burks, and Fred).  If you believe they will move Steen to RG, it's one starter and five backups.

You could address the rotational DLs in the draft.  Finding another RB isn't difficult.  We have Stoutland to make the OL work.

IMO, the CB positions will be the most critical one to address.

Hoping they can sign Rodgers to a team friendly deal. Eagles were the team to sign him while he was still suspended, indefinitely. Would help a lot in the comp game and he is also a solid young player. I figure Q won't be getting a lot of looks, so CB2 is going to have to battle and Rodgers has shown he can.

Also, be assured that the Carter extension next offseason is part of every move this offseason.

I'd add if N. Smith continues to improve amd plays well in 2025, his agent will be clamoring for an extension as well.

Rodgers can't let the "team friendly" contract attitude infiltrate his process.  This is his shot at making money in a brutal profession.  Now, if the difference between our offer, if we do offer, and say a Giants offer is $1 million per year over 3 years, then maybe.  Otherwise,  he has to take the money.

I think RG is more important.  Steen has been OK but he has been beaten out as a starter over the last 2 seasons.  Ringo has shown promise and is young.  If anything, he has had less of a shot than Steen because of Quinyon and Slay.  Slay and Quinyon played at an elite level last year. I think Becton was very good but not on that same level.  A competent zone CB is easier to find than an above average RG.  Also, the Eagles need more depth on the line as both Dickerson and Jurgens sustained late season injuries.

The Eagles would be smart to jump on that extension early.

The Eagles are smack in the middle of a win-now window.  Trading Goedert...i.e., actively making the team worse...just doesn't make sense from a football standpoint.

Yes, he's had injuries, but there's no question he is an important piece of the offense.  Unless he's being ridiculous in what he wants for an extension, just figure it out to keep him for the next 2 seasons and a "we'll see" after that.

Sadly, I think that is out the window. Looks like he is going to get good offers and the Eagles will have to match to keep him.

Pure conjecture: Goedert messaging to the Eagles he will hold out of May-June camps, maybe TC without extension with another glob of guaranteed $$.  He is one of the best playoff TE ever.  He wants another bag and he'll go Garrett if he doesn't get it from the Eagles.

Oline depth is a key need.  We had incredible depth across the board this past season.  I think we have to accept that won't be the case this season.

Or sign a TE who doesn't stink at blocking

I mean this is the long and short of the issue, we have nothing behind Goedert, Calcaterra is a below average pass catching TE and a woeful inline blocking TE, judging by the number of snaps he gets Uzomah is somehow worse.

I hope Milton and Sweat get paid. But I can't lie: I'll be upset if they take equal money to sign with Washington.

Right if Dotson or even Johnny Wilson get more catches this year that comes from the TE anyway.  We need a blocking TE who can occasionally catch a ball

Equal to another team or equal to Eagles? Won't be equal to Eagles

just got a notification that ublock origin is no longer supported in chrome. What is the hot new thing to block pop ups these days?

uBlock Origin Lite is still available in the Chrome Store, and will work apparently.  Ghostery is another similar tool to use as is Privacy Badger.  But Google are slowly removing ad blockers in Chrome because they wants us being force fed more ads.

If you want privacy, its Brave or Firefox - but even FF are doing the Adobe thing of you create something good in FF, we own that:  They are backtracking, but you can't put that toothpaste back in the tube

Any team. Go to NE or Arizona guys.

Honestly I don't view Milton Williams as an upgrade over Jonathan Allen.  I think that's a mispriced market.  Now Milton is younger so two years from now sure. But I don't think swapping Allen for Williams really makes the Commanders better

Twitter better get it's ish together because I don't feel like making a bluesky or whatever it is.

This feels like free agency of Mark Eckel times.

I’m not saying low ball him, but a fair contract that fits within this roster.

That’s what he’s going to have to decide, if he wants decent money and be on a winning team or if he wants to maximize his money and be on the browns like Garrett.

Bad for us as they were rumored to be in on Goedert.

I’m very confident that Howie knows his value in the market and if they have offered him a contract will be fairly inline with what he gets in FA, just like CJ. Now, if there’s a team like the commanders that want to bank up the brinks truck for him, then obviously you let him go.
