Any team. Go to NE or Arizona guys.

I guess it comes down to their vision of those teams.  Washington is better than them... so it would be a big ask... unless its about the money only... and the weather.  In that case... AZ it is.

Thanks.  In my research I found Opera. Check them out.

Yeah, I get it. Maybe it is for the best to trade him. I’m not sure how this effects the cap, but I’d maybe try and wait until after the draft or during camp if you can’t get a deal done.

We don't want to pay the big bonus due Goedert before the start of next season.  Same reason we cut Slay.  Huff has one too though his is guaranteed.  Goedert has some dead money too which will hit the cap so Howie is trying to thread the needle here.

What is Opera? I just like all of my google accounts being linked up in Chrome.

Who is the first FA name to drop in 25 minutes?  I say Darnold to Steelers

It's going to be real interesting to see how the Eagles handle a Carter, Nolan Smith, Mitchell and DeJean extensions all in like two years.

They will become defensive centric on the cap, and will need to start to move away from some of the big money pieces on offense when the defensive players hit the big money years.

I would suspect they are under some sort of coordinated cyber attack right now to overload the servers.

Howie doesn’t want leaked FA deals to outshine the Barkley press conference. Smart.

As FA has approached his costs seem to be sky rocketing.

There's still options if Rodgers falls through. They may fall back to Slay, there's some other FAs out there like Nate Hobbs, Eric Stokes, and Kristian Fulton. They can lean on Ringo more and draft another CB.

I don't think Rodgers is a must have, which is why I think the Eagles shouldn't push to offer him much.

Yep could see a trade in 2 years but then again not every defensive player might live up to trajectory people have for them. We hope they do but stuff happens

This doesn't feel like HUGE guard money

Its not.  $15M/yr is the mark for big money.   Huge is even higher than that.... $20M+/year.

Jonathan Allen visiting the Vikings.

Another important re-sign in Arizona: G Evan Brown is staying with the #AZCardinals on a two-year deal worth $11.5 million, per The Insiders. Brown started all 17 games, a valuable part of their O-line. The deal was negotiated by Sean Kiernan and Tom Povinelli of

.

Guard market seems reasonable so either Becton is the exception or he could be in play for Eagles

Or there is a bidding war for him as the market is dwindling before FA starts

Right guys getting paid 8.  Seems doable for Becton if D guys fall through.  Again not sure they want to put that into O but the value might be there

Maybe but you'd think these guys gauged market

I'd rather just turn the page on Slay.

Got one last one in before tampering period.  You're welcome boys.  How many Howie's?

And the team can choose to rectify that situation in a variety of ways.   They can renegotiate, or they can trade.  In the case of Reddick, they chose to trade him.   It worked for the Eagles, honestly.  The Huff move failed, but they redid Sweat's deal, which worked and traded Reddick, which also worked for this team.

They can also add incentives to the contract without fully renegotiating it.

Losing Goedert, Sweat, Milt, Graham, Becton, Rodgers, Burks is going to be disastrous

Yeah it would hurt, but besides Goedert, we should be able to fill in for the others.

Sweat = Hunt, Smith and hopefully Huff being better + draft pick.
Williams = Ojomo stepping into bigger role
Becton = Steen, draft pick, Stoutland U student
Rodgers = Bringing Slay back, Ringo stepping up, later FA addition
Burks = Either he comes back or we rely on Trot Jr plus other late FA addition and wildcard of Dean getting healthy timeline

Here's the thing I don't understand with trading Goedert -- it's $21mm of dead money if we trade him before June 1. That's OTC's number, and that's what I get when modeling the contract in Excel (his contract is hard to get completely right because parts of his rookie deal were rolled in). Spotrac has only $11mm in dead cap and a small 2025 savings from a pre June 1 trade, but I can't reconcile that number.

I wouldn't pay him $15.5mm this year, but I also wouldn't trade him now and take on $21mm of dead cap. If you're going to trade him, it should be after June 1.

It doesn't appear to be down for everyone just some people.

I would trust that Howie knows those details.

Right, so what high money pieces on offense are going?

You could say Lane maybe. Barkley maybe. But both might overlap a year or two with signing the young guys on defense.

Hurts isn't getting moved. I doubt they move anyone on the O-line. So it's basically AJ Brown or Devonta Smith.

The Eagles do not need to be active in wave 1 of free agency.

They've been active and successful in previous offseasons to build this championship team. Yes there are moves to be made every season. But the core of the team is under contract.

We always say a team has to primarily build through the draft, then want them to be active in free agency. Howie finally drafted well on defense over several years and they have young talent as starters and depth ready to increase snaps. Replacements for guys like Williams and Sweat will come in wave 2 and draft. The core offense is signed for several years.

And there are the future contracts for young star players to plan for.

There are teams overpaying for guys that won't win any championships.
