The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I think Carolina is on the way up. Bryce Young had a very important growth year last year. Its hard playing QB in the NFL and sometimes you take your lumps on a bad team. He played way better in those last 10, including scaring the heck out of the Eagles.

Williams does not push them over the top but if he is 1 piece in a solid FA and draft year, they could be pushing for that 7th seed or the division if Tampa stumbles.

Milton Williams is close but is not done per Diana Russini

Other teams making push for him currently

More than 20M/Y for Milton, per Schefter.

I initially said McNeils deal was Milton’s floor. FA money is stupid.

Lurie and Howie TOLD US WEEKS AGO. Did no one listen to that when they said fans have to be patient and have faith. Like come on

And 99% of Eagles fans have accepted the minute the SB was over that not all would be back. Williams said several times on those mic'd up videos he wants to get paid. The team won and guys like Barkley, Becton, Smitty, Hurts, Baun cherished the moment. All Williams cared about was himself and saying he's gonna get PAID.

Williams is replaceable just like Hargrave and Cox were replaced. Ojomo, draft pick, and these teams releasing all the D line talent Howie will be able to pick up a value free agent rather than overpay this week like some teams.

Slay may come back

That video of him sounded like he's not taking a pay cut

110%. Williams will take a step back, and we're going to see Ojomo feast. Whoever is next to 98 is always going to play above their head here.

With Davis slimming down and probably a good rookie coming in. Maybe a 2nd tier vet FA. DT is the least of their worries. Sad, but smart move.

Carolina is going to find out if Williams was a result of playing next to Carter.  Ojomo and a draft pick should do just fine for the next couple of seasons

Could be or maybe he's just starting his negotiation

Wut?

Eagles are going to have 2 of the highest paid defensive players in NFL history if Jalen Carter and Quinyon Mitchell continue to ascend.

The perfect two positions to have superstars in DT/Edge and Boundary CB

By JC, but that took almost an act of god.

Damn. Pretty big money.

Indeed.

Musk just posted they are under cyber attack. May be on and off for a bit.

Joey Bosa a better value option.

He and his brother are committed to bringing their own version of BB to San Fran.

I figured he meant Carter but that was such an improbability lol

If it weren't for the accident he would have been gone before we could draft him

Patriots making a push for Milton before Panthers lock him up.

No one, but he'll respond by firing everyone at Twitter to fix the problem.

We certainly can and that also wouldn't surprise me.

We'll get depth in there and some of these jumps will happen. Others might falter some and have a sophomore slump. The chances of rookies coming in the way Q and DeJean did and playing that lights out again is slim. We play 11/12 playoff caliber teams.

By no means am I panicked, I just think we won't be as dominant.

There's also something to be said about young guys with another year in the system. You have rookies that get the full offseason without the combine and draft distractions and they know the system now, review film, they have their list of things to work on from their coaches, and gain more comfort in the system in year 2. Q, DeJean and Hunt are going to be even better next year. You have guys entering their 3rd year and taking the leap as well. Carter was dominant and it was only his 2nd year. They will work on how to best handle all the double teams he gets, and Carter improving should be scary for the rest of the league. Nolan Smith became a very good player this year and will also take the leap next year.

You also have Fangio after a full year to review and evaluate the players and plan. Plus young guys like Ojomo, Hunt, Trotter, Brown and whoever they add in the draft.

There's also a bunch of D linemen being released and Howie will be able to add free agents in the coming weeks after other teams overpay in desperation.

Just posting to give an update of why it may be on/off for a bit. Not the place for that.

The Guard market is all over the place but lowish. Some are signing cheap, some are getting decent deals. No one broke the bank yet.

All it takes is a bidding war but I'm holding out a little hope on Becton.

Moehrig feels under rated. Wonder what it would take to add him

I think he already did that 2 years ago.
