Patriots making a push for Milton before Panthers lock him up.

If there's a bidding war the Patriots will probably win that. They have the most cap space in the league. Happy for Milt, too bad he couldn't stay.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Lurie and Howie TOLD US WEEKS AGO. Did no one listen to that when they said fans have to be patient and have faith. Like come on

Yes and that's fine and dandy, but I then I don't want to hear HOWIE DOESN'T LET YOUNG TALENT OUT OF THE BUILDING.  He absolutely does and will. That is all

Anyone hear the rumor that Sweat is going to the Commies?

Paying elite/pro bowl money to guys that are simply above average is how you wreck a team (see Prescott, Dak). Howie saw the metrics and pressure rate Ojomo produced next to Carter were basically the same as Milton. This is similar to letting Miles Sanders and Swift walk knowing their numbers were thanks to the line. But you pay Barkley because he is a force multiplier.

Exactly.

There's no way you can pay that contract to keep Williams. If he did, fans would complain how are they going to pay Carter, Jurgens, etc.

I would think a 2nd Super Bowl in 7 years with mostly a different roster would buy some faith and reduce this anxiety and negadelphia, but for some it's just ingrained.

The Eagles are unquestionably an inferior team than the one that rode the parade floats down Broad Street a month ago.

But that’s what happens when you win a SB. If you don’t take a step back, you are a dynasty.  And the Eagles have a bit to prove before the word dynasty gets thrown around.

So of course it sucks they are leaving and is a step back.  But there was no alternative.

I just hope they draft well, have one creative veteran addition (personally, lusting after Pitts), and maybe find a way to get back into the Becton conversation.

Id be very happy with that.

Exactly. Spot on as usual.

I CANZ TYPE IN ALL CAPZ TOO2!!!!! People are going to overrate Milton. Strong rotational DT, but not irreplaceable.

Think this means no Slay for them

Damn big day for Twitter to be crashing. Bluesky is doing a good job of reporting the signings fwiw. Mina Kimes has a "starter pack" with the account info for a lot of the big NFL analysts if you guys need an alternative.

Pats swooping in for the steal sounds about right

I don't know how comp picks work out. Do we get a higher one depending on how ridiculous the contracts are?

Lol wut? Grant Calcaterra may be a better blocker than him. The Eagles like their TE1's to do both. Pitts...can't.

I saw the Chargers are re-signing Mack.  What's with these older guys not wanting to play for contenders?

I was scrolling on my tablet for the deals on NFL.com. As you get to the last one, the next thing is the SB recap with the 40 burger scoreboard.

I love that for the next 50+ years people will be looking at SB results and say wow, 40 burger for LII and LIX.

Rodgers to Vikings 2 years 15m. Damn, should've kept him at that price.

Well we do have majority of the core guys under contract

Given our high $$$ commitments on offense, and the upcoming needs on defense (Carter, Smith, Q, Coop, etc.), we are going to have to replace guys like Sweat and Williams with cost controlled younger players and/or cheap vets. Luckily, this draft is very deep at DT and Edge.

I'm not saying he's not irreplaceable, but he is a young home grown talent that just left. People act as if that would never happen under Howies watch but it just did, that is all I'm saying.

Slay will probably come back now with Lions signing a CB and Rodgers leaving.

Bad miss by Howie on losing Isiah

Outside of the EMB make sure you use his first name when you say Rodgers to the Vikings, lol
