Pretty obvious to me that they simply chose not to bring him back. Which means they are either planning to move Dejean outside and think they can easily and cheaply find a decent slot corner, they REALLY like Ringo stepping up as a starter next season, or they plan to wait out the market and bring in a total bargain option to compete with him.

They obviously have a plan at corner if they cut Slay and let Rodgers walk. If they wanted Rodgers back they would have signed him at those numbers.

Yeah never going to match the Williams contract, guy got paid followed the money to play for a mid team. 

I would've liked to think we could've done something to keep hold of Rodgers at that price though, I thought the whole point of investing in him during suspension was to see if we could get a cheap CB, I thought he was pretty good down the stretch and 7.5mill a year for two years to keep him around is better than a 6th round comp pick.
