He is a guy I hope Howie looks at if their goal is to add WR depth this draft. He immediately comes in and overtakes Stone hands Johnny.

I have a thread for him in IWTETG. Love it.

That was after my time. In my case, it happened in Basic Training (summer of 1988 at Fort Jackson in SC). We were out on bivouac for a week or 10 days of training. Part of the training was the high and low crawl, which afterward (that night), was a mock battlefield 'invasion' on the Night Infiltration Course, followed the next night by live fire range training with tracers and in full MOPP gear (battlefield protection against chemical warfare... gas masks and such) similar to this image, but we didn't have Kevlar helmets:

(Long story, put in a spoiler box for those not interested lol)

The low crawl training pit was about a football field in length, filled with mulch and sawdust. You have to crawl on your belly (as low to the ground as you can get) with your head in the sawdust as if there was machine gun fire over your head and if you pick your head up, you die.

During the afternoon training, there was no machine gun fire, so no need for ear plugs. We kept the ear plugs in a little case hanging  from our web gear suspenders. Well, as you can imagine, crawling on your belly could cause things like that to break off and get lost in 6 inches of sawdust over a 100 yard pit. That's what happened to mine and several others in my platoon.

When I noticed they were gone, I told my drill sergeant, but we were so far away from our supply room that he wasn't going to send a truck back to the company area just for 8 to 10 pairs of ear plugs. So we did without them for all of our live fire training.

The night of the "Night Infiltration Course", we were low crawling across the 'battlefield' with M-60 fire going over hour heads (probably 20 feet above us), with explosions going off like you'd see in a war movie, and one of those explosions went off RIGHT next to me. I was so close to it that in a real war, had that happened, I wouldn't be here right now... which I actually don't think I'd ever thought of in those terms until right now lol.

That was so close that it 'muted' my hearing so an extent. The next night we were on the M-16 night fire range, all live ammo, of course. So two nights in a row without hearing protection. By the time we were finished, my hearing was so diminished that I really thought that it was permanently damaged to the point of hardly being able to hear. I told my drill sergeant when we were back at the barracks, and he sent me to the hearing clinic where they did hearing tests and such and detected some hearing loss but by that time, it was getting better and eventually got back almost to normal. But I was left with tinnitus.

The Night Infiltration Course was really cool and fun to do, but that's where the damage began.

This image seems like a shorter distance than what we covered, but that was in 1988 and in the moment, it may have just felt like it was a longer distance and they're crawling in the same direction as the machine gun fire, we were crawling toward it and those 'explosion pits' seem to have a larger barrier around them, because I was right next to it when it went off.

I'd never heard of 'tinnitus' before until 15 or 20 years ago watching an episode of 'Shatner's Raw Nerve' where he interviewed Leonard Nimoy and they spoke about it. I was like.. "That's what I have!" It was just always there (since my incident). I didn't know it had a name.

Come to think of it, I was at the range once at Fort Hood without hearing protection too. Ear plugs were a thing back then, but they weren't necessarily thought of as a necessity.

During one of my pre deployment training stints we did a massive platoon (Flight) sized fire and maneuver react to contact drill.  My Flight Sgt said we couldn’t wear ear protection because in a firefight we wouldn’t have time to put it in…

So i had the pleasure of laying in a ditch with about 40-50 M4’s going off to my left and right with about 15 HMMWV’s on the road above us firing 249’s, 240’s and M2’s.  It was so loud that after about 30 seconds you could feel every individual round fire in your bones.

Then I had a fun day in Iraq where my dewsh gunner slipped in his turret and hit the butterfly on his M2 as i was getting out of the HMMWV…nice ‘little’ 50 cal going off about 2 feet from my head.

i have literal CTE/scars in my brain from the multiple IED strikes, all on CAT scan…my hearing - ‘not service connected’ lol

The ish we did to afford our drinking habits back in the day?  Right…

by the way, this QB looks very solid.

Unscripted vid is up

Scott Hanson might be leaving red zone for NBC.

Recent comment by Milton Williams stating he would like to run it back and even go for three peat are pretty encouraging. He knows playing next to a potential hall of famer in Carter makes his life easier. Think he gets 3/$63M with a lot of guaranteed money. As long as the money is close he stays here. Howie will keep this great D-line together for another 2 years with Ojomo and Davis in the rotation and go for that three peat. That depth is unreal and what makes us dominant. Can worry about losing someone in the rotation in 2 years.

Howie never let's any young ascending player like this go. Not his MO. He usually signs these types in free agency and overpays for them. Starting to think he pulls his magic and keeps both Becton & him as he just despises letting young and up & coming linemen walk. Becton gets a nice 2 year deal (bridge) for $30M. Revisit him when Lane retires. All good. This is the time to sign alot of our own free agents in lieu of signing other teams free agents. As we know what we have with our own players and keep the culture, continuity and chemistry, which are vital to long term success.

This is such a well run team from the medical staff to coaches to Howie and Lurie. We’re truly blessed to have such a good organization to call our own.

Nash body type reminds me a bit of Drake London.

London has about 10 pounds on him but similar build.

Be interested to see his combine measurements and numbers, hes listed at 6'3" and he looks pretty close to that on the eyeball test, good highlights of him high pointing the ball💪

Why is that a fine?  He got penalized, leave it there.  No Fun League.

They outlawed the dunk because it can misalign the goal post. Kind of makes sense.  Probably why a fine is involved.

I look at the "face hit” on Mahomes. He barely grazed the facemask.  The majority of the contact is his palm, which is on the shoulder.  Ignore the Mahommes grimace as we all know what an actor he is and the refs can’t ignore that since his probably shouldn’t have flopped comment.

But @jonrunyan probably shouldn’t fine Hunt for bringing the Trent Cole sack celebration back.  I understand not encouraging violence but an arrow into the air?  Guess Goodell never made it into the Order of the Arrow because we used that every induction to start the initial fire.  As the guide, Kichkinet, I had the honor of "shooting” the fire arrow every induction ceremony for three years to "start” the ceremonial fire. (In truth my motion was much like Hunts. No arrow involved in my shooting.  That was an arrow on a fish line that a fellow member sent down from a tree.  Impressive in effect but as harmless as Hunt’s (and Cole’s) celebration. Howie needs to fight that one and get the NFL to allow the traditional Eagles sack celebration to be passed down and enjoyed. F Goodell.

If anyone can figure out how to keep milton its Howie, Baun needs to get his first, Sweat I think another team will overpay, Becton I like and I can see him taking a team friendly deal to stay but Steen played pretty well when given snaps this year.

Yup after the embarrassment of previous owners Lurie runs a 1st rate organization🏆🏆

Oh yeah, I already have Baun signed and coming back. He's a team leader captain type and not letting him walk out of the building. Nor is Fangio...

‘Not service connected’ - The VA

Had I not gone to the hearing clinic after it happened in 1988, they likely would have said that. But the hearing loss and ringing was documented at the time.

I don’t think the Eagles can get any more than a 4th or 5th round pick for Pickett or McKee.  Nobody is trading for either one to be their starter.

Why are you bringing those people up again and tagging VA? I am sure he has better things to do than be involved in your nonsense.

I strongly advise following his suggestion about using Ignore.  If everyone in the Blog did that I would never need to see nonsense again.  That said, you have really stooped to that level this season.  Give us your rundown on this year’s RBs and save your reputation hereinafter.

It's only 10% (max), but I'd appeal that if I were you.

You’re probably right but either one would start on probably 4 or 5 teams right now.

Think that Pickett gets you at most a late 3rd, while Mckee could be AJ Feeley deja vu and could net you as high as a top 40 pick. Only takes one team to love him and he was impressive, although a small sample. Looked comfortable and like nothing rattles him. Also super cheap for 2 years for someone.

Why would we trade a QB with his upside on a rookie deal? I don’t understand this idea. He won’t net us nearly enough to be worth it.

I am not particularly looking to trade him, but if Howie gets an AJ Feeley offer, I am thinking about it. Not trading him otherwise. I really like him as QB 2. Much more than Pickett.

Hes a small school guy who the online scouting community hasnt caught on to much yet. I dont think hes a mid-late round guy. I dont see why hes not a 2nd or 3rd round guy. Probably will be.

I rarely respond to him, or anything about him anyway. Your dislike for my on point Hurts analysis is not my issue.
