You guys need to stop this narrative of fear about next year's schedule. The only 2 games to be concerned about truly are the Bills and Chiefs away. We just dominated and demoralized the Chiefs. They'll be fired up, but we'll be ready too.

Let's look at the non-division teams we play next year:

Chicago Bears - W
Detroit Lions - could go either way, it's a home game for us though
Denver Broncos - W
Las Vegas Raiders - W
Los Angeles Rams - W
Green Bay Packers - W, they haven't beat anyone this year
Minnesota Vikings - W, they haven't beat anyone this year
Kansas City Chiefs - could go either way but tough and on the road
Los Angeles Chargers - W, not scared of them
Buffalo Bills - could go either way, but tough and on the road
Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Atlanta Falcons - Bucs have had our number lately, but if they play like they are currently they will beat either of those teams

Then you have 4 wins against the Giants and Cowboys, and let's say a split with the Commies even though they can win both games.

I still predict they will have the #1 seed and a first round bye.

Bears are building up their Oline

Broncos defense was already decent and they're improving. Though Nix could have his sophomore slump

I dunno if anyone is worked up over Burks not being re-signed. You can trust Howie yet still be disappointed something didn’t happen, those things aren’t exclusive

Yeah it’s not like being bummed about lack of re-signing one of these guys correlates to criticizing Howie or not understanding what they’re doing. I feel like I see more fans saying "stop complaining about what Howie is doing” than people actually complaining about what Howie is doing

Some people like being the peace keeper even when it's not needed

If you're not falling in line and praising every move then you're complaining and they must tell you to calm down

I'm still completely against using the first 2 rounds on RB

It's just annoying how every other team in the league that makes a move and it's, oh they over paid, oh that guys not that good, this that and another.
The giants got better, he's better than any safety we have. There's not one move they can make that will make them a contender, they needed to make multiple moves and they just made one great one.
Not sure how that's a bad thing at all and why it can't be recognized as a strong on the field football move. I just don't understand that.

Is he "better", or is he "more talented"?   Was he one of the guys that was complaining about Vic making them work hard when they were together in Miami?

On paper, its a good football move.  The question is:  Is he the type of guy that can go to a bad situation and help to improve the culture and make everyone around him better?   Or is he just a talented player looking out for his stats and his reputation, but is unwilling to do the dirty work?   If he's not a culture changer, I don't see it as a needle moving transaction for the Giants.  In that case, he's just a mercenary and those types don't change anything about the team of consequence.   A few of these types can take a 3 win team and make it into a 6 or 7 win team.  Ultimately, the Giants are a horribly managed organization right now and they need a top to bottom culture restructure.   So, nothing that they've done is of consequence at this point.   Washington's moves are much more interesting to me.

I’m going to wait to see what happens when it’s all said and done. You’d assume he’s clearing space for a reason. As of now there are lots of holes (DT, EDGE, OG, LB, CB, TE?, Future OT). Some wouldn’t have been expensive to fill.

Eagles will probably sign guys like Luketa from AZ and optimists will say good things, pessimists bad and we won't actually know until the season starts

I'm actually very happy to accept that.  A soft DC is never a winning formula.  Fangio rebuilt this defense in a year from 'worst to first' because of his staunch commitment to perfection and being a stickler for details.   The fact that he showed them the Super Bowl tape and was pissed about the fact that they ended up giving up 22 points is a great thing, in my mind.  It makes me think that there won't be much of a Super Bowl hangover from the defense, because he didn't even let them have a week to enjoy the Super Bowl before holding their feet to the fire, even in an amazing performance!  22 points allowed makes it look good, but not dominant, in the end.

Absolutely. I'll take that trade off in a heartbeat. And clearly there are lots of players that thrive in that type of system. Just pointing out reasons why not every defensive FA would take equal money from the Eagles, since people are upset that we "let" Burks and Rodgers walk.

Don’t steal my dude!! Haha but even I feel he is just a guy but he does have some possible upside.

He was in Kempski's list of guys for them to consider 😀

Most of the free agent rankings had Fries as No2 Guard,  Becton usually floats around at 4 - 7.

His value is to teams with a predominantly running offense (because his pass protection is below average) and he may still harbor pretensions of going back to playing Tackle. Which makes him tricky to put a value on.

Uhhhhhhh…. WTF?

Ummm

Another Texans trade: Houston is acquiring veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Eagles in exchange for former first-round pick Kenyon Green, per and me. Trade includes a pick swap with the Eagles getting a 2026 5th-round pick and the Texans getting a 2026 6th.

I’m very confused. Green objectively sucked for Houston.

Malaki Starks is suddenly in play.

But I really don't get this. They brought CJGJ back because they thought the defense missed his attitude. And now they trade him one year after bringing him back and he did just that.

The Eagles must hate the idea of Steen starting.

I’m not following

Wait WTF

Not a fan of this trade

Obviously Becton is gone.  Who do they have in mind at safety? Seems weird to make the defense worse

Why? Initial reaction is the success has gone to Howie’s head again and he’s making a mess of this.

Okay well Becton is gone and we have a new hole at safety.

CJ brings the swag for sure.  That said he seemed to be the one who consistently got burnt much of the season

WTF

Wtf are the Eagles doing?

This is an awful move. We JUST got some heart back on the defense and we trade it for garbage, with no one behind him primed for action. Ew.

Howie truly is the best.

Malakai Starks please.

Why not draft him THEN trade CJGJ?

Wonder if Vic had any say in this. Maybe Sydney Brown is ready to start
