Yup sounds like CJs mouth wore out its welcome.

Hes a good player but a headcase.

The thing about CJGJ being a headcase might be true, but I remember at least two incidents last year of Brown having to be dragged away by team mates after causing a ruckus on special teams.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Can’t say he didn’t warn us…

I really liked the safety from South Carolina but didn’t think it’d happen.

Im now seriously rooting for us to draft him

Kid had a monster combine day, I bet he is drafted higher than expected.

Retro post...

Go ahead and read what the Jets fans say about Becton....

Becton had flashes actually stretches of brilliance and dominance though.

What a buzzkill to a Superbowl season. This team is going to be really young next season. Stripping almost half of a Superbowl starting defense. Pretty shocking! The bright side, Fangio can turn things around super fast and we are preparing ourselves to keep who we value as our core long term. These moves are not necessarily great for next year, but good for the mid and long term. When you really think about it, execept for Williams, we have lost mostly just solid older guys, but no huge pieces for the mid or long term. Howie playing the long game for sure here. Defense getting even younger now. Waiting for the other shoe to drop here still.

I mentioned a couple pages back. He was awful last year. Not that PFF is end all be all but they had him below 40 in his grade and he started nine games. It’s why I said if stoutland gets him to just be useful it would be a feather in his cap. Because he wasn’t just bad but awful.

I don't think the trade centered around Green.  I think he's a project they took but it was mostly clearing cap space for a guy they weren't going to re-sign in a year and who was unhappy with his current deal

Oh right, who was it so I know whether I stand by it or not?

For all the praise Stout gets it should be recalled that he backed himself to make a player of previous 1st round bust guard Chance Warmack and he didn't get near doing it.

This

Stout isn't perfect. Just because it worked with Becton doesn't mean it works for all of them

Yeah I’m not confident he’s there at all when we pick but if he’s there that has to be the pick

Kenyon Green only played LG so far. I'm guessing they will try him at RG but jeez do they really hate Steen for whatever reason.

Yeah weird, I thought Steen looked good at guard in limited action.🤷‍♂️

We seriously don't think we are taking a safety in round 1 do we? As much as I would love this guy or Starks, our d-line was just decimated yesterday.

I don't see how this has anything to do with Cine. He showed up late for a few weeks of a Super Bowl run and probably didn't have a single teams snap of practice.

Was there meaningful cap space created with this trade though?

There’s plenty of DL options in rd 2 & 3, the guys on DL like Hunt & Ojomo can actually play, I don’t feel as confident with Sydney Brown

Decimated? How soon we forgot that they tried to trade Sweat for a pile of rocks last off season and had no takers.

Hunt and Ojamo will be fine in bigger roles.

Why not just get a better pick then? Kinda weird to take a project G that only has one year and no path to playing.

Barron might be in play at 32

I think it is more the Eagles know what’s coming down the pike and they can’t afford to pay two safeties. So they had to make a decision whether or not they were gonna pay Blankenship or keep paying CJGJ. I also think they also know that it’s either crap or get off the pot with brown. He’s going into his third year. Need to know what he is so can either try to see if you want to extend him or move on.

my point on green was still more he was awful last year. When people go well the Jets fans thought becton was awful. Becton was not great his last year with the Jets. He was more below average. Green was definitively awful when he played. Why I said if Stoutland gets him to at least just be competent or useful that is a feather in the cap. He was competing for worse Texans OLineman in 2024 on a team that had an awful oline

This is a bizarre trade. Kenyon Green was drafted as a guard but his best position is mascot.

He is not a bad guard, he is abysmal. He is one of the worst draft picks in Houston Texans history.

He can't even play a little bit.

This is a MASSIVE Stoutland U reclamation project. Do not expect him to be on the field anytime soon.

FWIW, I was in Houston for a lot of his career and 610 in Houston is owned by the Texans and they have lots of insiders on the radio. They all view him as a terrible football player. The hope was that he could rebound in 2024. He did not.

Unfortunately I do not think they traded for this guy to sit the bench. Even though maybe he should be.

I wonder if there's a chance the Eagles don't necessarily plan to not compete in 2025, but plan it as a reset year, and jump back on the Super Bowl train in 2026.

Not saying they can't compete in 2025, they'll still have good players and can still be in the mix, but maybe internally they view this as a necessary year to take a step back to preserve their future.

Does the fact that Green rhymes with Steen mean anything?

Davis is a mystery to me.  As in, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, but, does he have the right demeanor/personality/attitude for the NFL?  He has all the physical tools you could ever hope for, but I truly wonder if it's his mentality that stops him from becoming the dominant player he could be.

Effort, work ethic, desire to be great, etc.  Does he have it?  Will he be a "contract year" kinda player?

He just reminds me of a gentle giant type and does "just enough" to keep a role on a defense but just doesn't have the desire to be the best he can be.

It's just a physics issue.  It's harder for him to play with leverage given his build.

My guess is we were gonna cut CJGJ anyway for whatever reason, and the Texans guy was just something to get back for him (save more money in trade than cut).

Hes probably a camp body, maybe makes the 53 if Becton doesn’t come back

Cowboys got Solomon Thomas?
