I don’t play video games, so I wouldn’t get it.  So I won’t bother watching.  I will say (and since I’m not a Twitter/X guy either, this opinion comes only from seeing their posts that are copied here) that the source of the message isn’t one I’d say is all that important

It's basically him repeating the N word a bunch?

Don’t blame him.  What an iconic moment for not only the team, the game, but for him personally on his bday.

I hope he keeps a cool head (I think he will) and it’s the first of many moments as an Eagle

I think you’re getting ahead of yourself saying he has a dominant bullrush. He used it great against an undersized tackle who really is a guard, but it’s an awfully small sample size.

He needs to work on technique and pass rush plan. He said it himself.

He did it quite a bit in the post season. It was surprising to see. Yea, might not be dominant, but surprising to say the least. He's still got a long way to go, but excited to see what his next step is.

Wow.  Starting the Dallas hype machine early.

I wonder what the Eagles strength and conditioning team has planned for Jaylx Hunt as he moves in to season 2. He's 6-3 252 and showed that he has a dominant bull rush. Should his focus be 100% on technique and adding different pass rush moves or do we think they might want to get him up to 260? Seeing his strength was surprising to say the least this year.

Both he and Nolan need more moves. Not sure I see it as an either/or situation though.  I would say S&T is going to be nutrition and development of strength.  Maybe bend exercises.  Technique is something the team probably offers suggestions on for the offseason.  I imagine the player development team works with the position coaches and quality assistant coaches on packages with suggestions as part of exit interviews.

Yup.  Smith really plays bigger than his listed size.  Impressive really.

Gimme guys like him and Smith that are hungry and eager to learn

Both can play as true 3-4 OLBs, so I don't think they want them to sacrifice mobility in space for bulk to play with a hand on the ground.

The ability to drop into coverage allows Fangio more flexibility to send 4 without signalling which 4 out of every formation, drop both OLBs and send an ILB through the A gap for example.

You really couldn't do that with Sweat, Graham or Huff. So I see them signing similar players in FA and in the draft, when they want to be stout against the run they go with 3 DL.

However, Smith and Hunt are physical for their size, and can seal the edge, so I don't see the need for them to add much size.

When the VFW claim guy came to our transition class i went cross eyed when the formula was explained to me.  It makes sense now…but at the time i was like wtf.

Yep. When I first got my paperwork from them after retiring, I added up all the individual claims and it was like 140%. Then it was adjusted to 70%. Went back and forth with them for about a month, and got it to 100%.

Just looked at the list of 2024 QB starters and would say there are at least 8 teams that should consider trading for Mckee. If McKee was a sure thing he would command several 1st and 2nd rounders. If you are  a GM and want to risk giving him a 2 year run with your floundering franchise for a salary of $1M per season, it's a no brainer to consider a 2nd rounder for him. I'm not so sure if I'm the Eagles I would even accept that. How many good young QBs are even available in the trade market right now for these QB starved teams? And being on the heels of a Superbowl championship, everyone's trade value just increased. Here we are with Howie holding all the cards. In a great spot, if you are the Eagles.

No one is trading a high pick for McKee. Why would they? He’s proven nothing, has 2 years expired on his rookie deal, and doesn’t have unique athletic potential.

If they want to go with a young guy they can draft their own or get any of the former high picks that are floating around and try to do a reclamation project while they find a long term starter. They can use their own pick on Dart or Milroe or whatever.

Fangio has mentioned Nolan Smith’s size as a concern on multiple occasions. I think he wants big guys who are also athletic.

Jalyx Hunt is the guy he really wanted — 6’4” 255, and hadn’t  been in a major college program’s training system. It wouldn’t surprise me if he got to 260+ pounds and I think he wants guys who are 250+.

Here’s the NFL scouting report on him after the combine:

Did you see Smith blow up the pulling guard? He's plenty big enough, plays violent.

He’s a good player for sure, but he’s an exception, not the rule.

He does, but most don’t. I wouldn’t bet on everyone his size standing up offensive linemen.

It started early last week, especially after Dak's comments.

ESPN spent a lot of airtime talking about the Cowboys. NFLN talked about the Super Bowl Champions.

 Let’s enjoy the win.  And then talk FA and the draft first. Let the players rest

I thought that was apparent in college. He needs to learn pass rush moves, but he was already winning with power.

Yep I distinctly remember that as well. I was surprised people were surprised by his play strength

Its why I said pre-draft that he has a lot to learn but can still contribute right away. Power translates to the NFL.

If its between a raw speed ball who needs strength, or a strong guy who needs some rush moves, Ill take the strong guy and teach him moves and counters vs hoping the speedball can develop power, and the attitude to play with that physical edge.

That's why your scouts watch film.

There are plenty of big "weight room" guys who struggle to translate that strength to the football field.

While a guy like Smith needed to add strength, but he's still probably only 240 or so, but ripped and explosive, natural strength.

mass x acceleration = force. And leverage matters more than height (though longer arms help up to a point, but you need to know how and be able to punch).

Ojomo good example, not the biggest DL, but learning to use natural strength and quickness to good effect.

On the other hand, Davis has mass and athleticism, and that makes him hard to move even with a double team.
