Getting rid of Huff also opens future cap space IF Howie can get out of paying his bonus this year, although it would hurt cap space now. That's why I think he will do anything he can that makes reasonable sense to get off that contract. If he pays the $16M cash this year that's going to be $13M in cap space in future years if they decide to move on in 2026.

It's not going to be easy and very easily could not happen. But I think he's going to try.

Same with Goedert, the sweet spot to trade him would be Post-June 1, pre-training camp.  That's a hard needle to thread, BUT a desperate team that misses in the draft might be interested.

Joe Thuney traded to the Bears.

I have no idea what happened in Carolina - what I know is he was good here and would more than likely still be good here, especially as a #2 back behind Barkley.

And no, my comparison was not a "false equivalency” You guys like throwing that phrase around a lot without even knowing what it means.

Gainwell is better than Miles

There is zero reason to bring up Barkley except to try and make a ridiculous false equivalency.

Premium back is top 10, at zero point was miles sanders a top 10 back talent wise. Still waiting on why he was so bad in Carolina with that premium talent.

Sanders being good here and completely falling off a cliff in Carolina is about as clear as it can be for being a product of the system. Dude lost his job in year one and his replacement was way better.

TL;Dr, his vision sucks and always has.

That's the biggest indictment on Sanders in Carolina.

Chubba Hubbard:  250 carries, 1195 yards, 4.8 ypc.
Miles Sanders: 55 carries, 205 yards, 3.7 ypc.

Calling CJ a cancer is a bit of a stretch

It’s less of a stretch than saying he had a positive impact I’d wager.  He was traded for a reason for a reclamation project.

Apparently Vegas likes our offseason so far - The Eagles are currently NFL favorites to win Super Bowl LX @ +650, followed by the Ravens @ +700, then Chiefs and Bills @ +750

Yep…a big no to Miles Sanders.   I expect the Eagles to draft another RB…and I wouldn’t be shocked if it was before day 3 of the draft

People keep saying this, but I don't think this is true.

Not saying it *can't* happen

He was the 11th or 12th best player on D for most of the year.  If a bad play happened most of the time it was a blown coverage by him or Dean missing a tackle.  Let’s not pretend he’s an all pro…he was streaky.  When he was good, he was good.  When he was bad, he was very bad.  Once Dean figured out how to tackle, he was clearly the weakest link (relative given how good overall they were as a total unit)

He might be now - really impressed last season.  Bring him back then.

To an extent, you can work on hip tightness doing stuff like Yoga and Pilates regularly. You'd think a professional sports team would have that knowledge in house, especially with players with a known issue before arriving.

People complaining about Ringo’s hips, haven’t watched the All22 of his plays.  That was a result of his draft profile as a very green rookie and the fact he fell from the prognosticators’ projection on draft day.   Don’t get me wrong, he isn’t all world on hip flips but he’s much less stiff than Diggs, for example. And any stiffness he has in his hips is more than made up for in his burst.

From what I have seen, his biggest issues are playing the ball with the receiver as he concentrates on the receiver and that goes hand in hand with his reluctance in the past to hand check.  Then the new teachers (coaches) arrived last year and you could see improvement across the board with his use of hand checking and playing the receiver better. IMHO, after signing Baun, the biggest offseason move was keeping Parker, Kasper and Anderson.  Practicing against AJ and Devonta will make any corner better at playing the receiver.

How bad would it be to cut him post June if we can't find a trade partner?

It's good to be the King.  Looking forward to more good news ahead.  Howie will sort out the cap.  Goedert may be next.  If he can pull off Huff too, that's Houdini-type stuff.  Don't know the exact math on our dead money but it will be very tight.

Meh.  Hubbard is a solid back and had a great season.  Pretty sure Sanders was banged up most of the season - and 55 carries is basically what a lead back gets in 2-3 games.

2,7,8,9,13,14,18,19,24,29,34,42,77,93 have all opened up. Braden Mann should do the right thing and move to 19 or better yet, 37 since punters can wear any number now.

The following should happen.

Dotson-2

DTR- 7

Ainias Smith- 8

Johnny Wilson- 14

BVS- 42

Green- 76

Pretty sure we’re stuck with Huff for 2025 and won’t be pretty releasing him next season either.

He - without question - had a positive impact on this defense - with both his play and attitude on the field.   Maybe he took it too far on occasion but to say he didn’t impact this defensive in a positive manner on the field is nonsense.

The Cam Jurgens extension (possibly tomorrow) is gonna shock some people.

No, but a few have posted the savings here. This is 100% a move for the next wave of extensions. Don't quote me but roughly $8 million next year and the following year.

Ainias Smith hasn't done anything to deserve #8

Great at Penn State.  Great his tenure here.  Now he’s "bad”.  A bunch of nonsense.

Lots if guys are great in college so doesn't really mean much now.

Sanders got benched in Carolina because as said he has bad vision, he got away with it in philly largely due to a great O line and a running qb threat, take both those away in carolina and hes average at best.

Having said that both those still exist in philly so couldnt hurt to kick the tires on him🤷‍♂️

Agree, just my best guess right now. Bryce Huff doesn't deserve 0 either.

I'm going with the thought that if Smith gets in to a better number, he'll play better. The old Jerry Rice mindset of If you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you play good.
