Looking at the Drafttek big board as if it were our mock draft.

Pick 32- Shavon Revel, CB

Pick 64-  (Bull Rush McIntyre) TJ Sanders, DT

Pick 96- CJ West, DT

Pick 134- Jemari Harris, CB

Pick 161- Jack Kiser, LB

Pick 164- Shemar James, LB

Pick 165- Kyle Williams, WR

Pick 168- O'Donnell Fortune, CB

well, that isnt realistic with the DT, CB, AND LB double ups... But, there are some players there that make it an exciting class.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

It feels like the next freak out will come when Becton signs elsewhere for not that much money. We haven’t quite bottomed out yet

Wouldn't that be a legitimate reason to freak out?

Looking at the PFF big board as if it were a mock draft.

Pick 32- Nic Scourton, DE

Pick 64- Dylan Sampson, RB

Pick 96- Jalen Milroe, QB(controversy)

Pick 134- Zy Alexander, CB

Pick 161- Kobe King, LB

Pick 164- Isaac TeSla, WR

Pick 165- Seth McLaughlan, C

Pick 168- Connor Colby, OG

For as big as Dillon is, he seems to go down quite easily in open space.

In short yardage he was one of the best on 3rd and 3 or less from what I heard in PHLY pod

Sweat

Williams

CJ

Slay

Rodgers

BG

Burks

All made impacts at key times helping them get the 2 seed and win a SB.

Sky falling? No

Step back at this point? Yeah.

Lot of picks that are great for the future if they hit on them, but it's a lot to expect another Q and Coop year 1 if they are going to repeat.

What FA are going to be Baun 2.0 still left? Simmons? He's 31 or 32. Most will be cheap trash pile guys or they would have kept their own.

Throw in probably losing MB and Dallas to the offensive side.

Lot of holes to fill or miracles to happen with every young guy stepping up.

Long-term I see the wisdom but as a fan I don't want to wait two years.

There may never be a Baun type signing again so I dunno who that would be but no one saw that coming either so who knows. Most of the holes are depth pieces. At the moment about 9/11 starters are already set on defense. Hopefully Dean comes back 100% but that's no guarantee. They are really high on Ringo but obviously no guarantee either. A starting safety and some depth pieces is really it

Tankathon big board as our draft

32- Donovan Ezeiruaku, edge

64- Princley Umanmielen, edge

96- Ashton Gillotte, edge

134- Jamon Dumas-Johnson

Howie loves the edges.

Addressing backup RB with so many needs on defense doesn't get me excited. That being said I feel like a lot of people haven't watched AJ Dillon play football. If he is fully healthy he is going to be one of the best backup RB's in the league and enable the Eagles to lessen Saquon's workload.

I’ve watched plenty of AJ Dillon. He’s as meh as it gets.

Long-term it's probably smart. I just think a few smaller moves keeping a few could have allowed them to still extend people and keep some chemistry.

Jones off the board, I really thought he'd be a guy for the Eagles.

So I was trying to find guys Howie could trade for at positions of need. Lower cost potential upside guys that won't cost premium picks most likely. I brought up Jermaine Johnson a bunch of times. No idea if he's available.

Another guy is David Ojabo. Does he just suck? He might. But was great in college and word was going into that draft before he got hurt that the Eagles liked him a lot. Probably could be had for a late round pick swap tbh.

Shame about Jones but honestly I’m not worried about DT. They have 3 solid guys and a few long shots to go along with a strong draft.  DE, CB and S are my big needs

Curious if Eagles will be interested.

They lost starters and depth. The guys you're talking about filling in were depth. They have no depth now and some guys will be coming off surgery (Jurgens, Nolan, Dean) . Loses were significant in terms of numbers alone. There's a lot of work to do still to fill out the roster but it's really early. Down 1 starting safety, 2 quality starting CBs, 1 starting OG (likely), 1 starting edge 1, 1 starting caliber DT, Backup LB(Burks), 1 Backup RB.  About to be down a starting TE if the rumors are true. Yes there are a lot of gaps to fill. Draft and trade deadline is where they get things done. Maybe a FA when it doesn't count against the Comp picks. Howie doesn't seem to be in any rush and he already said this wouldn't be conventional so we patiently wait.

What you are describing is the business as usual "next man up” approach that is standard across all 32 NFL franchises.  They don’t call it the Not For Long league for nothing. Go back over the past 10 years and look at how the September 53 man roster differs from the season ending roster of the prior season.

Add to that normality that the NFL structurally challenges each season’s winners with greater hurdles than that season’s losers.  Their idea of a perfect season is all 32 teams with a season record of 9-8 or 8-9.

So change is inevitable, like death and taxes.

Time to move on from Howie.

They have 83M in cap space and their 2nd best WR is Quentin Johnston. Goedert might get 100 targets in LA.

Can we pry a Day 2 draft pick from them?

I agree I actually was hoping they would keep Baun, Rodgers, Burks, Becton. I'm trusting they know what they're doing with LB and CB and not just crossing their fingers. I still feel like Becton will be back. Green may not even make the team. One thing I keep hearing is it's actually better to have that continued chemistry with players on offense but not so much on defense. Dunno why that is but that matches what they are doing here. Whether that's a coincidence or not I dunno

They lost CB1, CB3, LB3, starting DT, 2 DE in Sweat and BG, and their starting S. Four starters and three important depth pieces that played.

They lost CB2, CB4, LB3, DT2, DE2, DEswag, and S2.

It's a lot.   But, its the very beginning of the offseason.   There's a lot of time between now and the first kickoff on Thursday Night.   Keep breathing.  It will be ok.

Ravens fans said Marcus Williams was great in 2023 but for some reason was just awful this year. Most think it was a fluke and he'll bounce back. Fangio reclamation project?

I think Ringo and Brown are going to be very good.  Maybe some speed bumps, but I think everyone will be happy with them.  They are catching all the concern, but that's not mine.

Speed bumps in a 17 game schedule are part of the evolution of team chemistry.  Look how Hunt and Ojomo evolved/progressed over 21 games last season.

A comment on the latest PHLY podcast has me cracking up.  Since new year began, Howie has signed 2 RBs and 2 LBs (one a LB/FB)….

Definitely a departure from the norm…

It really is TATERgeddon!!!!

I have no idea if he fits what Fangio looks for. Also it’s hard to tell if these guys will sign for low salaries. Every released players seem to be getting a raise
