Another either/or at pick #96 … Offensive Tackle Anthony Belton of NC State or Charles Grant of William & Mary?

I don't know much about Grant, but I like Belton's tape. Few weaknesses in his game, and those are easily correctable at Stout U.

Gainwell has averaged 4.2 ypc over his entire career with a much better OL. A healthy Dillon is an upgrade everywhere, even as a receiver which Gainwell was supposedly so good at despite never producing. Gainwell was a JAG.

I have a feeling the contract numbers will tell us how teams value Gainwell vs Dillon

Gainwell only got 1 year and 600K guaranteed. Either way it's not an apples to apples comparison since Dillon is coming off of a serious injury which cost him the entire 2024 season. There is risk with him that doesn't accompany Gainwell. Talent wise they aren't even close though. Dillon is 6'0 250 pound physical freak who is better than Gainwell as a runner, receiver, and pass blocker.

1 year 600k gtd for Gainwell. Thats insane lol.

He gets that if cut … more if he makes the team.

Think Scourton will be the better pro.

Ezeirauku might have more pass rush moves in his arsenal at the moment, but Scourton has better size and bend on the edge that translates to success.

That is my gut feel as well.

I just saw that Dre'Mont Jones got a three year 51 million dollar year. Javon Hargrave got two years 30 million. Maliek Collins two years 20 million, etc. All solid players but how do they go from being released to getting really big deals on the open market. It's like NFL teams are really stupid. To be fair I would have loved Jones or Hargrave as rotational pieces for the DL, but at something like 1-2 years and 5-7 million per year.

He has good straight line explosiveness for his size, but he’s not a physical freak.

Dude, he's a 6'0 250 pound RB with quads that rival Saquon's. He is absolutely a physical freak. Just stop.

I think we make sure we can snag 1 of the two top TEs and then trade Goedert later.

I wonder if the rest of the NFL took the time to google his weight and then follow up with a google image search of his quads before letting him sign here for a cheap contract…

One the one hand I like his leg explosion at his weight, theoretically he should be an unstoppable power back. But in practice, where are the great RAC numbers?

On the other hand, 1.64 10 yard split for RB is bad, good luck trying to bounce outside if it takes you a half dozen strides to get up to speed.

He's definitely NOT a physical freak, just a big back who runs smaller than his size.

The real key is going to be blitz pickup, that can cover a lot of flaws.

Dillon probably won't even make the team.

I'd love to add a big back in the draft though who can run downhill with potential to pass protect well.

I was hoping for jones as a rotation piece. But that contract Seattle gave him a couple years ago was a bad contract unless they got him to where he was with the broncos a couple years back. He never did and didn’t use him the same way. 1 year $10 mil from the titans isn’t awful

really this free agent class was not very good. And there were a lot of teams that had a bunch of cap space and just basically blew it on guys that had no business making the money that they are. I get the cap went up so some guys are going to get paid a more but some of these contracts are just bad. I love Milton williams but it’s laughable he got $26 mil per

Would you have given Dre'Mont Jones 10m for a year?

Isn't it one of Newtons Laws that states that for every player who is signed to an overpriced contract there will be an equal number of players who will later be released who will be available for an equally underpriced contract? Or something like that? And I think that's the market Howie is going to be doing business in later this summer.

The top 2 TEs will be gone before pick #20 of Day One.  The next 2 will go in the 2nd Round before the Eagles pick at #64.

That was Jones’ last contract with Seattle, no? Didn’t get get 1 for 10M with the Titans?

Uggh, that sucks

Feels like players are signing faster this year. Probably because of all the cap space.

I’m ready for an Isaiah Simmons flier for 1-year 2m please

Quincy was a top 15 projection all off season. Jalen Carter was top 2 until the very end of the draft process. You never know.

Edge choice in the Draft based on Tankathon’s ranking … who would you pick Donovan Ezeirauku from BC or Nic Scourton from TAMU?

Scourton. Definitely. Bigger and more explosive.

DE is more technically advanced, but weaker against the run. He has physical limitations due to his size. Slightly higher floor but solidly lower ceiling in my view.

Being big for your position isn’t a physical freak. Being big AND athletic is.

Fair enough.  Here’s a follow up question, if Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland are still on the Board at #32, do you take either of them over an Edge or DT?

As a heads up fanatics is having a sale on a lot of SB championship merchandise. Like half off a lot of stuff
