Fair enough.  Here’s a follow up question, if Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland are still on the Board at #32, do you take either of them over an Edge or DT?

Warren - absolutely. I doubt he makes it past 20 though

I agree he won’t.  But for grins would you take him over …

Nolen?

Grant?

Graham?

Pearce?

Green?

Williams?

Stewart?

Walker?

Carter?

Since we have detoured toward the Draft I just Mocked the following:

Would you have given Dre'Mont Jones 10m for a year?

No, he played a lot of DE the last 4 years and his production is nothing to write home about, never understood the boner some on the board had for him. He's a dime a dozen D Lineman.

Does anyone happen to know how tall Dillon is or how much he weighs?

He got big thighs and is big and if healthy he will be big and he blocks Iike a big big guy.  He's big.

It was tongue in cheek because every other post for like the last two pages was about this very thing.

Thank you both anyway though, lol

The only loss that I'd worry about is Williams, and that comes down to Ojomo and Booker.

Burks, meh, Trotter in his second year should take a step up, Edwards redux with more speed around him. Depth will be an issue with Dean probably out.

Slay was solid last year, but far from elite, QBs challenged him instead of Mitchell. Ringo might be a step down, but might not, raw talent, we'll see how far he's progressed. Ricks isn't as talented as Ringo, but as 4th CB/6th or 7th DB, not essential cog.

CJGJ is a playmaker, but can be erratic, gambles too much, in his good years, the gambles pay off, but we've already seen his bad years when they don't. McCollum, Brown and Cine will compete, Brown more physical but not as good in coverage.

Sweat is similar to Reddick, one trick pony with a very good trick, but Hunt is true 3-4 SLB who can line up on the LOS, Baun ILB who can do so. Huff should rebound in a pass rush specialist role like he was with the Jets, never understood why they thought he was a 3 down player.

Look for Howie to find young depth that Fangio can spend much of the year developing.

You keep referencing this up and down performance from CJGJ over his career.  What are you referencing?   He was really good here both years he was here.  He left for one year to go to Detroit, but was injured for nearly the whole year, playing in only 3 games.  And before that he was an ascending player in New Orleans.  He's not James Bradberry who actually had the pattern of being good every other year.

I have done next to no research on the draft and don’t watch enough college football to give an answer. But I’m a Penn state fan and Warren was a man amongst boys this season. In the right situation, he could make the pro bowl as a rookie.

You keep bringing up his size and his below average rushing production like I should be impressed. You think we’re going to use him much in the passing game?

The one thing I will give him is he has the frame to carry a bigger workload if Barkley misses time. Our OL should give him well-defined holes to negate some of of his issues (vision, change of direction).

I think he's here as much for his pass protection skills as his running skills... if not more so.

Who is the front runner at Safety?

Lewis Cine or Sydney Brown

Man that would be such a downgrade. Both of these guys would be, hence them trying to sign Justin Reid.

I don't believe the Justin Reid story. Has there been proof of an offer made or just the one tweet that said the Eagles were interested?

Trading for Green may mean Becton is leaving via FA.  Stouland has another under-achiever to develop into performer.

Trading for green also might mean Becton is coming back and they move on from Steen.

Moving on from a guy still on his rookie deal to replace him with someone worse on the basis that a reclamation project might work makes even less sense.

Becton has been on the market for a couple of days now and there's been no stories of him even meeting Teams, my guess is his market isn't as strong as he and large parts of this board thinks it should be, he still might end up back in Philly but Howie is waiting for him to get more realistic about his demands, ultimately he could end up like CJGJ a couple of years ago when he left the building seeking a fortune but ultimately ended up signing a cheapish one year deal in Detroit.

Might want to get your eyes checked. 6'0 250 pound RB's who can average over 4 YPC, and are legit options as both receivers and pass blockers don't grow on trees. A healthy Dillon is a massive upgrade to Gainwell.

Dillon is going to be interesting to watch. If he's healthy, he's a big back we should love. You also have to factor in he now gets to play behind the Eagles OL and with Jalen Hurts. He's going to have some lanes to run through.

They have very similar numbers when you average them out, with Dillon breaking longer runs more often.

Dillon has a 4.1 YPC for his career. 23% of Dillon's 597 carries have gone for 1st downs. Season long runs of 30, 36, 27 and 40

KG has a 4.2 YPC for his career. 23% of KG's 280 carries have gone for 1st downs. Season long runs of 18, 13, 32 and 20.

I still expect them to draft a RB, but it should be interesting to see what kind of shape Dillon is in, what he can do behind this OL and what being in the same RB room with Saquon will do. Could either be a Penny situation where he's forgotten, or it could be a Blount situation where he's still got it.

The only reason I suggest that is that the Eagles have seen Steen first hand for 2 years. He looks the part for us fans, and many think he should be in line to start. Maybe the Eagles have said, we've seen his ceiling and it's not good enough for us.

Maybe they know teams covet Steen and they can get more than we think for him so they are rolling the dice on Green?

I'm just spit balling ideas here. The most likely thing is that Green and Steen battle it out and Becton is on another team.

Who on a rookie contract could the Eagles potentially trade for?

For whatever reason, I think Christian Gonzalez could be a possibility

Brown, by far.

If he didn’t get injured at the end of 2023, I think we don’t sign CJGJ and he would have been the starter. Remember, he started 6 games as a rookie.

He was also a "red star” draft pick.

Red star?

"That's a guy who kind of exemplifies what it means to be an Eagle,” Roseman explained. "So it's great character, captain, testing numbers, intelligence, plays the way it should be played, practices the way it should be played.”

Why would the Patriots ever trade him? And even if they were willing, what could we possibly offer them?

Is there ever "proof" with any signings? This guy had the initial signing and then this secondary information. He was correct in the initial signing info so I don't see why he would be wrong with the second piece of info. https://x.com/JamesPalmerTV/status/1899626108926226860

Huh? Gonzalez was 2nd team All Pro last year.

He made it up. Dude is already a top 5 to 7 CB in the league

Problem is he doesn’t play intelligently. He is over aggressive and over pursues. He’s a big play against us waiting to happen. He’s also a hot head that gets dumb penalties. Can’t imagine Fangio likes him for these reasons.
