Dillon is a definite upgrade over Gainwell. He is great in pass protection and despite being a massive back he is a pretty good receiver.  It's not a move that's going to get me excited but it's a good move if he is healthy.

Also, day three of free agency and Javon Hargrave is getting two years, 30 million and Demarcus Lawrence is getting three years 42 million. This market is ridiculous.

If he's healthy, he's an upgrade. I imagine his neck injury may be a significant concern.

I remember Quentin Demps admitting how being given the starting job (was it year 2?) made him take it for granted and not work as hard. Really felt like he coulda been a good one but he didnt have the drive.

I believe 2 things strongly right now pertaining to the Eagles off-season.

1. Sydney Brown will not be the starter at S.

2. Bryce Huff will be off this team or Bradberry'd.

Huh? Gonzalez was 2nd team All Pro last year.

So.... late round pick swap?

Wonder if the eagles feel Lovato cant get his form back together.

Commanders off season so far:

$80+ million to begin FA

$32+ million remaining.

Key signings: Wagner back- 34 years old

Ertz- 34 years old

Tunsil- 30- and cost them 4 picks over the next two seasons

Kinlaw- 27 years old

Samuel- 29 years old

They have 5 draft picks in 2025- 1, 2, 4, ,6, 7

I don't think it's been a great offseason so far for them.

We need warm bodies at edge at this point

Sydney Brown moved to the US when he was 16 and played 4 years in college. He's not new to football.

I think Lovato is gone and if they can't find another LS maybe they sign him after the draft.

I don't think that highlight real shows much.  If he was jumping a route or diagnosing a route concept to make the play, I would like this video more.  He does have the athletic ability to play the position.  We need to see him execute at a level where he knows what he is seeing and isn't making mistakes in coverage.  He did a bad job on this play:

He turns too late and is nowhere near the receiver when Worthy catches it.  Worthy is bearing down right at Brown and is clearly running a deep post.  Brown is late to react to the route.  Good players get beat in games but this play doesn't inpsire confidence.  At that point in the game, he should have expected the route and run it for the receiver.

Brown is a Canadian that is new to football.  I'm not saying that means he will learn,  but it is soon to write him off after 2 years, one of which was spent rehabbing an ACL rather than focusing on football.

I think people who say he stinks are being too harsh too soon. While at the same time,  this can't really be the plan to go with him as the unchallenged starter.  And if you have a chance at Starks, Brown shouldn't preclude you from drafting him.

A huge part of what made the Fangio defense so successful was how disciplined everyone was. Brown is still mistake prone, and doesn't tackle well enough.

I'd also like to see them sign a steady vet like Epps or Mills in case they don't land a real threat to start on the draft.

I think Justin Simmons would make a lot of sense.  My hope is that he will accept a cheap deal.

So far we’ve brought in the following rookies that play safety for a visit:

  • Major Williams, S, Carson-Newman (AS)
  • Donovan McMillon, S, Pittsburgh (AS)
  • Trey Rucker, S, Oklahoma State (AS)
  • Malachi Moore, S, Alabama (FM*)
  • Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas (CM)

Mukuba is the only guy who has a realistic chance of being taken as high as the third round. We’re targeting day 3 picks. What does that tell you?

We didn't bring them in for top 30's.  We've met with them at All Star games, combine, etc.

He's also going to be 33 before the season starts. He probably costs next to nothing but also probably more than a younger guy would.

Was watching some later round guys trying to put together a list of players I’d like:

CB Zach Frasier, USTA — Kid can really tackle. Seems like what we have been looking for in corners recently with Ringo, DeJean, and Mitchell. I didn’t see him play in the slot, but would be interesting with his combo of athleticism and physicality.

CB Caleb Rensaw, Tulane — kind of the same, but even more physical and plays a closer to the LOS with frequency. Seems like an obvious target with his versatility and skill set.

DE Tyler Batty, BYU — Really physical run defender I think could give you reps in a rotation on early downs from day one. I don’t see him being a prolific sack artist, but would love to add him to the bottom of the depth chart.

DE Barryn Sorrell, Texas — wasn’t a huge fan because he struggled in the run game. Might have a place as a pass rush specialist, but I wouldn’t want it to be here.

I'm glad you know how to search youtube videos. Can you show me the plays where he's in coverage?

There's a reason he got a total of 7 snaps in 2 blow out games against washington and kc.

The Eagles are obviously not gonna blow a pick on a long snapper, but they'll probably sign an UDFA one and if they do, it's time to say domo arigato to Mr. Lovato.

The 3rd and 4th videos are breakdowns of his performance/plays in each game.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a trade down that nets a 6 or a 7 that ensures they get a LS. Rounds 5-7 are just head starts on UDFAs at this point.

Really, ok I didn't know that. He would omit one of the higher comp picks however. Unless Becton leaves and those contracts cancel each other out.

Board is way too negative on Syndey Brown.

Your 3rd video is just him tackling people and your 4th video shows one clip of him in coverage getting beat for a TD.

Edit: Actually he gets beat twice, one for the TD and the 2nd was almost a TD if it was a better throw.

Not excellent by any stretch. But they still got better from where they stood at years end.
