Wow, Kenny G, couldn't have won that Super Bowl without you. Not sure how we'll recover.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I just looked up Josh Uche's career stats and I have good news. He had two 💩 years, then 11.5 sacks, then two 💩 years. Which means he is due for a big year 🤣

While I will always insist that Kenny Gainwell is a JAG and Boston Scott was better than him, he has always seemed like a super good dude and I hope he does well in Pittsburgh.

Milton should send Carter 10% of his signing bonus.

Interesting thing I just read.  All 32 teams were present at the Clemson pro day, as well as NASCAR representatives scouting for pit crew men.

Never heard of Nascar attending pro days before.

While we’re in off season frenzy let’s not forget PFF has Saquon as their 10th best RB. So whatever ratings we might throw around - they really don’t mean much at all.

People get defensive. I’m a huge Howie supporter now and know the team will change before the season. But we can admit there’s a good chance a lot of these guys won’t be on the 53.

Not breaking news, but looking at this roster, our defensive depth has taken a huge step back. 5 or 6 of the picks from the draft better be on defense. We need to restock.

True. But the core of players are all young and here for a while.

Every year a bunch of March free agents get cut in August.

Thank you

And these are literally all minimal deals. Hard to believe the reported number for Adore which still in 2mil range.

I think all the guys who made it last year were paid over 3. Not sure on Becton but he lasted until May

The guy did a nice job for us, for 4 years. Played special teams, recovered a fumble in NFC title game. Can’t we just wish him well (except when they play us)?

It easy for Hurts to say that, he has enough money for 10 lifetimes.

Gainwell has one shot to be set up for life, not filthy rich, just enough money after agent fees and taxes that he doesn't have to sweat his life after football.

I am going to critically summarize the pickups which doesn’t mean I don’t have faith in Howie to make more moves.

1. Green - terrible last year

2. DTR - really bad last year

3 Dillon - injured all year

4. Uche - really bad and inactive much of the year

5. Bryant - 3rd TE who caught 9 balls

6. Adore Jackson - bad last year

is that accurate?

Buy low. I mean that's the only way he could afford to add this many players.

They're competing to be depth with players on the roster, SFAs they'll sign and draft picks.

At least they have shown in the past they can perform at a NFL level.

You can do that without the memorization.

Not in chess. I was 2nd board in HS, reason I could never beat the 1st board is I didn't understand the need to memorize the set of openings.

It's not just the memorization, it's understanding the patterns that take you to the mid-game.

Everyone is different, and different people are motivated and driven by different things.  I don’t think it makes any one person better than another.

It’s fun to make believe all professional athletes think of the sport as the ultimate game between the best players anywhere, but a lot of them know it’s their job — and the vast majority have a very short timeline of maximum earning power.

There’s also a big difference between positions. Taking a few million less per year on a quarter billion dollar QB deal when you know you can play into your mid 30’s is a lot different than a safety who will make a small fraction of that and knows he could easily be out of the league with a knee injury in 2 years.

Watching Uche some… it really stood out that he got some fast, high quality sacks in multiple ways. He won with speed and bend on the outside, he won with bulrushes and he won with inside moves. Admittedly I think some of them looked cleaner and more impressive because he beat some bums and backup tackles.
