You gotta hand it to the Packers though. Back to back 1st ballot hall of fame QBs, both of whom went from being the face of the league to completely hated.

I'll fully admit that Favre is a first ballot HOF scumbag and Rodgers is a choir boy compared to him.

But that's probably the lowest standard you could probably hold a player to without them going full OJ

To actually unload Huff are we going to have to give up a draft pick as well?

I think part of it was that people had Favre fatigue for years, so Aaron really got a pass. No matter what you think about Rodgers taking his time this offseason, or going into the darkness before asking for a trade to the Jets, he's got nothing on the drama queen crap Favre pulled back in the day. People felt bad for Aaron when Favre tried to come back in 2008 after announcing his retirement - he wanted to steal the job back from Aaron before GB traded him to the Jets. And then all the drama with Favre and Minnesota -- Childress and the Vikings having to fly down to him.

I worked with Aaron Rodgers on a couple of commercial spots about 10 years ago. He was respectful and polite to the crew and showed a real interest in everybody. Honestly, it was refreshing compared to most of my interactions with athletes, most of whom have been difficult to work with in my experience. I was surprised when we filmed the second spot months later that he remembered everybody's name from before. Or maybe he just read the call sheet and made the effort to make people feel comfortable.

My guy EVERYONE mocked Russ and Reddick for being divas. And yes they both sucked for doing what they did. And yet those guys didn't call for coaches to get fired. Or publicly mocked the front office for their drafting. Or demanded their team hire certain coaches. Or trade for/sign certain players. Or did any of those things repeatedly over multiple years and multiple teams. Even Russ who, btw also kinda sucks. What are you even talking about here?

They don't get nearly the hate Rodgers gets. Rodgers is called a "bad guy" by a lot of people, not just a diva. Why don't I hear people calling Russell Wilson a bad guy? A bad guy is Greg Hardy. Or Henry Ruggs. Or Ray Rice. They do actual bad things. Not just typical football diva behavior. There's a million divas in sports. But Rodgers gets singled out all the time and I find it disconcerting and a sign of the times we're in. The guy gets hate for literally mulling a decision. He's not posting on social media or appearing on podcasts or lashing out on social media. Yesterday there was a photo of him taking a walk on a Fing beach and somehow that outraged people. You and others are allowed to hate anyone you want. Whether it's for someone being a diva or otherwise. I'd call that uppity, but everyone is entitled to it.

I wish people would keep the same energy they have for Rodgers for other players though. At least be consistent. Russell Wilson hasn't signed yet either btw. Not a peep about him when it comes to him doing it for attention and all that.

We have a million 5th round picks, give up one of those & im cool with it

Washington’s defensive front has got even worse. I fully expect them to draft a DL in the first

Yes, plus all concessions sales for the 2025 season.

Sheil made a good point on his podcast about those 11 sacks. A lot came in bunches against bad QB's. He had 3 in one game against Sam Ehlinger. 3 against Colt McCoy. 1 against Zach Wilson.

He also had 2 against Josh Allen and 1 against Burrow to be fair. But half against guys not even in the league anymore is noteworthy.

I read the "he has bad instincts" thing yesterday from someone, but I'm wondering if they see him as a backup at LB more than an edge. We often hear Vic takes the thinking out of things. We'll see.

Curious to see if the Eagles are going to just sign penny deals in free agency or if they're willing to sign a more expensive guy and are just waiting to see if someone accepts their price. Whether it be Justin Simmons, Marcus Williams, Blackmon, Ojulari, whomever.

I like this. Was bummed when we lost him off special teams.

Russini: The Eagles have signed former Giants LB Patrick Johnson to a one-year deal, per source.

Johnson = camp body. Didn't like him enough to keep him in 2024. He'll battle in camp.

It absolutely is when you combine it with how vocal he has always been about blaming teammates and front offices for his teams shortcomings. He has always tried to dictate FA signings. He forced the Jets to fire Saleh.  It all speaks to a selfishness as a person and lack of accountability.

And again this isn't just "oh ho hum I sat on the beach". It's announcing you're not sure what to do, announcing you're going on a darkness retreat, announcing your decision, doing a million podcasts about the decision, putting on a spectacle in your first game out. Then repeating the process every single year.

He's not an "odd ball". He's a dude who has alienated multiple coaches, teammates and fanbases. And oh yeah and his own family doesn't even talk to him. If a Philly QB did half of what he's pulled he'd have been run out of town and rightfully so.

Guy sucks.

I think you're just throwing stuff to the wall. Elite QBs dictate things. Teams are going to get the feedback and wants from their franchise QB

Hurts has even said the offense is the way it is because it's the way Hurts wants it to look. Lol IIRC he even used 3rd person

Brady dictated things. Peyton did

It's easy and it's trendy to hate him 🤷‍♂️

 yeah you're right man. No one has ever called Rice or Ruggs a bad guy before. Excellent point.

And no one was "outraged" by the beach picture. They turned it into a meme to make fun of him because again, he's a notorious attention seeking diva and it was a kinda funny picture. Stop trying to martyr the guy. No one is calling for his head like he murdered someone. They're just mocking him cause well...he kinda sucks as a person.

You can call me uppity if you want. I'd call someone who excuses chronic selfish behavior and tries to characterize justifiable criticism as "hatred" as, moronic. But hey you're entitled to it 👍

They already paid the expensive guys with previous extensions and external signings last year, and are planning to pay the other expensive guys on their roster that will need extensions in the coming years.

We need to kill the obsession that every season a team should be signing "expensive guys" in free agency. Free agency is a backup supplement to the draft.

Name one time those guys publicly criticized their FO for personnel decisions. Or demanded a team fire a coach. Or hire a coach. Or a FA. There's a difference between building a team around a QB. And a QB trying to actively act as a GM. C'mon man.

He made the initial 53. Was waived before the MNF game against the Falcons because they needed to elevate Gates, Campbell and Jenkins. Howie tried to sneak him through waiver and the Giants grabbed him. Same way we lost Elliss to the Patriots.
