This isn't set in stone as playing time will also play a part. It was very annoying to see BLG and others continuously put out there that we are getting two 4ths when it was very obvious we were not and never really were.
Becton would've needed to get 18 mil per year which was evident once free agency go into day two or so that it was not going to happen yet they kept saying, oh we're setting two 4ths. Annoying morons.

They need a TE, DE, DT, S maybe outside CB and now a RG. Goedert is basically gone too so that would also be a need. There's a lot of off season left but definitely a lot of needs and it seems like they keep adding to that list which is frustrating combined with only scrap heap type signings.

They feel most of those positions are already filled by draft picks.

Steen was the starter in training camp till he got injured… came in and played well he will get first shot.
some of the younger guys will get some competition but you can’t just go out and sign big name players… first they will want to start and you can’t hold down the youngsters with promise, second they probably cost us comp picks.

you didn’t even include lb which is probably the biggest or second biggest need behind De. The eagles have plenty of draft picks to move and do as they wish! Depending on that there is also a couple older vets lout there they could get.

Correct that pissed me off to no end. Definitely still factors that could change things but atleast this gives a better look.

Hopefully Keegan is cross training. I think he will be better at RG

Wishing Becton got more, but all these teams with bad guards and cap space wouldn't pay him. Tells you what you need to know.

Cam needed surgery on his back for nerve pain? Yikes. That's rarely a good thing. Hope he doesn't have any long-term effects.

No idea but I my guess is probably around 9 but it wouldn’t shock me if lower. People thought the longer he lingered eagles had a shot but I figured once it was too long it was clear they weren’t even bidding. They might have offered a 1-yr deal

Ultimately the eagles got the 2 most important guys back. Zach Baun and Ben VanSumeren 😀

Seriously I hope they’ve bottomed out now. The expectation is this was all done to sign everyone else and maybe add a little something on D

Well, in terms of this Free Agency period the only way that bottom could be lower was to have lost Baun.  But the Goedert situation is still hanging fire, so the ride isn’t over yet.

Then of course we get April and the Draft, with its potential for both elation and disappointment.  Plenty of time for more rides in the fun park.

All these doom & gloom posts.

We just won the Super Bowl. 2nd SB appearance in 3 years. 2nd SB Win in 7 years. Spend the off-season enjoying the win and feel good that we kept what...our best 13 players?

I think picks will be used for trades. Even if they're 2026 picks knowing they'll get comp picks next year that will make up for those picks.

They won't be able to fill all those needs in the draft, but they'll need to fill some of them. DT and Edge for sure. TE for sure. Whatever is most important out of S/CB/RG. Right now I think Safety is most important probably because the team has no young long-term solutions there. And no, Brown isn't it. At least with CB you have Ringo and RG you have Steen and Keegan.

So if I were to rank them in terms of needs I'd go Edge, DT, TE, Safety, RG, CB.

Ojualri & Asante Jr are out there but I'm not sure either fits what Vic looks for

I'm wearing a freshly arrive Kelly Green Super Bowl Champs hoodie.  I don't think that many posts have been doom and gloom to be honest.  Just a few negative nellies.

What an absolute disaster.  Big step back coming next season

Time will tell whether that is the case. Keep a positive attitude.  Going Negadelphian won’t make it easier to experience. Most of what Howie has done is because of the rules … especially Cap rules … that the NFL imposes on all teams.

He's a troll. All he does is post anti-Eagles stuff, "coincidentally" didn't post here once during the Super Bowl run, then returns when the Eagles are taking it on the chin a bit in free agency to start up again. Cheering on Dallas a year ago gave the game away.

A top 3 GM showing restraint. He will also have lots of trade ammo.

I'm out on Asante, small and not very physical. Definitely in on Azeez but he will interfere with our comp picks which seems to be priority.

They originally said Sweat was a 3 as well. I agree annoying … but that is what the Blog is for, to keep things real (and occasionally unreal).

The offense didn't turtle when Steen played.  He was the starter when they put up 55 in the NFCCG.

I am confident that after a full offseason of him repping with the starters, we'll still have a top-3 OL.

The sky isn't falling.

I’m hoping steen steps up in his 3rd year like seumalo did. Seumalo lost his starting spot in year 2 and then year 3 he finally earned it and he became a nice starting guard for us

If we're being honest with ourselves, even if we understand the need to sign the core group over the next couple of years, everything about the CJGJ trade sucks. The question remains, why not wait until next year to move him? There are fan theories that he wanted a new contract, but who knows. There's as much truth to that as there is that Becton was ever viewed as the eventual replacement for Lane Johnson.,

The defense is worse without him. We all went back and forth about the succession plan of Ojomo and Hunt once Williams and Sweat were gone, but even for a guy like me who thinks Cine can be a player and Brown could be good, there is no succession plan behind CJGJ that keeps this defense on the same level.

I have to trust Howie has a plan and we've only seen about the beginning of it.

I can't imagine Howie making the move without conferring with Fangio.

Which tells me Fangio wasn't happy with CJGJ, probably felt he gambled too much and was out of position.

If DeJean is a full-time starter, you're looking for a FS in a two deep who plays 75% of the snaps - how hard is it to fill that role?

Sweat I'm not worried about, Hunt as a full-time SOLB brings more to the table, Huff is better suited to the pass rush specialist role.

Williams is tougher, you're not going to replace his pass rush, but he had limitations b/c of short arms against the run.

Burks, meh, he was a journeyman who was coached up, we can find another.

Slay, had a good but not special season, probably a dropoff in Sept, question is how far will Ringo progress by Dec.

Rodgers, good backup but was instant target when he went into games.

They won't be as good, but regression would have occurred if they kept all the veterans.

The key is finding and developing young backups who are prepared to play by Dec when the inevitable injuries mount up.

Road tripping to Austin, Texas with the family. First stop on our way down is for BBQ in Kansas City. I’ll have my Eagles gear and I made sure my son brought his SB champions hat. At first he thought it was "too braggy” to wear it in KC. He’s much nicer than me.

Jurgens was better than Kelce.  Jelce had become a liability for penalties in his last couple of years and often made bad blitz pick up calls.

With the Eagles cost cutting so much, I wonder if they might consider moving on from Jurgens too at some point. I think he's overrated. Made the Pro Bowl because most of the good centers are in the AFC. He's an excellent run blocker, but not a very good pass blocker. If he is wanting Creed Humphrey money or close to it, I just don't think it's worth it.

I thought one SB would allow me to die without regret, but two of them make me realize God does love me on occasion.   The Eagles still have one of the most balanced, talented teams.  Could easily see a SB repeat this season.  No doubt we have lost talent, but no team in this league was as prepared as the Eagles to manage the exodus.  In fact, they planned it.  Just wild.

No other team could lose or ever has lost what we have lost and still be considered a SB contender, which we are.  They would all be considered to be rebuilding.

The Eagles have top 5 players at LT, LG, RT, RB, WR, DT, LB, Nickel CB, and CB.  Top 10 at QB, TE, C, WR.  All after losing starting DE, DT, CB, S, and RG in the past 5 days. It's f-ing amazing.

Agreed.  The talking heads have said Howie has 20 picks in the next two years, and we have seen in recent Drafts how Howie makes additional picks out of the ones he has on Draft day
