Backup LT seems like an underrated need. If they don’t re-sign Fred they got nothing and that doesn’t seem like a rookie job

Fred is definitely still hanging fire.  I’d like to see him re-signed and then select an OT in Day 2 of the Draft.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I'm not sure this is the class to go dipping at OT.

We've been talking about finding a Lane replacement since 2020!

Did we ever get the real numbers on the Adore contact? It seemed high

OverTheCap still has it as TBA but as non-qualifying

RG is the least of my concerns of our "holes" right now honestly. Not concerned about Hunt or Ojomo either but depth at those positions is a bit weaker. Steen/Keegan/Green + the obligatory day 2/3 OL picks with Stoutland running the show will be just fine.

I could see Warren. But man, after the amount of players out the door on D, I really want to go that route. Warren looks like he could be an exception however. but I can't see him making it into the 20's so he's probably not a realistic option. Loveland is ok, but would go defense over hm at 32 or even with a trade back so I'd pass on him.

Those mirror my thoughts.  If Loveland were a better blocker I would be on him too, but he hasn’t shown plus blocking proficiency so far.

Did any of the sub 2 million free agents make it last year?

Burks

Still nothing from BG on if he's retiring.

Meanwhile, I'm finally catching up on draft homework and reviewing TEs.

Not debating the bigger, stronger. In fact insaid that too

but what are we basing quicker, faster on? Combine number preinjury at some historically lighter weight? Bc i didnt see that on the field at all

Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  You saw something different than TEW or Just Relax saw. I personally saw something closer to what they saw rather than what you saw.

Over the years I have observed that mistakes matter a lot to you.  I once had a client who said to me multiple times, "Your company really frustrates me.  You do ten things right, and then do something wrong, and you are worse off than when you started!”  I think you and Paula think a lot alike.  On the other hand, TEW (like me) is often overly optimistic … sometimes to a fault.  Just Relax is a well balanced rock in the middle.

FWIW, the three of you are some of my favorite posters.

Jalyx Hunt, Sidney Brown, Steen, and Ringo are all very talented 3rd round picks.  Everyone is making so much of getting the coveted 3rd round comp pick from all the departures.  We literally have four 3rd round picks waiting to play.

No one should be pulling for these veteran additions to get playing time.  They are insurance against plan A, which is our own draft picks.

Brown sucks

Adoree Jackson is still a solid football player.

Agreed. Dillon (if healthy) and Jackson are both good signings in my opinion. Dillon is an upgrade to Gainwell and Jackson is only a minor downgrade from Rodgers.

Uche is a dart throw, Johnson is a special teamer, and Bryant and Granson are 3rd TE options. I"m not counting on them for much of anything.

No, we just watched him play enough to realize that he is an absolute nightmare in coverage. He plays football like a chicken with it's head cut off and has no awareness when it comes to space and coverage. Considering that is a must in Fangio defense from the Safety position he not only sucks but is not in a fit. The Eagles trying to Justin Reid (which was confirmed by Reid) makes it pretty clear that they agree to some level.

I forgot how good Colston Loveland is because I didn't watch nearly as much Michigan in 2024 as I did 23. Dude is a baller. He's going to be so good in the NFL. Smooth as silk and plays with an edge.

Also like Mason Taylor a lot too.

I think there's a noticeable drop off after Warren, Loveland, and Taylor. Loveland will probably go in the first round, but if the Eagles could get Taylor in the 2nd that would be huge. But only if Goedert is moved.

With inside outside versatility. He will come in handy.

Some context … is he better than Avonte Maddox?

Fred, Avonte… not sure if the TEs count.

He is not only better but primarily plays on the outside which Maddox can't do.

I've been thinking DT in round 1 might be more likely than Edge because of his much Howie loves taking DTs and they lost Milton Williams. But I'm starting to feel Edge is more likely.

If they draft a DT at 32 and he turns out to be a stud, they're just going to be in the same situation they were in with Milton Williams. Carter will get paid his 35m+ per year, and then what are you gonna do, pay two DTs 30m+ per season?

Maybe that's so far down the line the Eagles won't be thinking that way, but the Eagles always plan for years down the line.

Neither Grant nor Anthony Belton are Lane replacements, but they are solid developmental backup IMO.  Look in at Grant’s frame as it is now, it is no worse than Jason Peters’s was when he was a UDFA.

If we want to get a 1st Round OT to replace Lane, Howie is almost surely going to have to trade for another team’s future 1st.

You and I seldom agree, but on this point of yours we definitely do agree.

I put Arroyo from Miami on the same level as Taylor.

I’m thinking the opposite.  Edge before DT because the Edge prospects thin out in Day 2 but the DT prospects stay very strong.

I think there’s danger in penciling him as a starter because he hasn’t learned yet to play under control. There’s some unheralded competition there, and an opportunity to add more - so it will be an interesting camp battle.

LMAO, because I watched him get torched left and right during his rookie season and then when he actually did get to play last season I saw him get torched for a deep TD at the end of the SB. Furthermore dude couldn't even beat out McCollum for the 3rd S spot and we all saw how terrible he is as well when he had to come in to the Washington game when CJ got tossed.
