No, actually it’s not.

It’s simple.  If you are an NFL GM and you use your first round pick on a RB knowing the RB will only get 8 touches a game and when asked why you did it, you respond,

"Well, you can draft WR’s in the first round knowing they only get 8 touches a game, that’s why I did it.”

Not only would you be laughed at, you would no longer have a job after that press conference.  Congratulations. 🎉

If you draft a RB in the first round you have no intention of limiting his touches to eight. It was a nice straw man, though.

This. Most of their career is just about money. Once they’re out of their prime, no longer good enough to be paid big money, they then want a title.

You chase the money while you can.  If money is even, you go to the place that's near and dear to your heart, or gives you something extra, like a shot at a title.  But, once the money drops dramatically, then you start to look at 'legacy'.

These double posts are annoying

Hope he’s better than the last Giant we signed.

Ojulari has been running really hot at turning QB pressure into sacks. Not sure if that’s a sustainable thing as his pass rush win rate is pedestrian.

FWIW, Gibbs was drafted as a first round RB to be second fiddle / random weapon in Detroit.

He still had about 17 touches a game.

Even in this non-workhorse role, they gave him a lot of attention.

If Ojulari can stay on the field this should be a pretty good signing. He's been hurt the past three years and missed multiple games every year. Maybe he'll have a reduced role to try to limit his snaps and keep him healthy.

Still way cheaper than Huff's bust season.... even if he only plays 8 games.

Ok, what 2020 Bulldogs defenders haven’t we added yet?

Tyson Campbell, Jermaine Johnson, Travon Walker, Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt

We'll see what happens on a defensive front where he's got more around him.   Good cheap lottery ticket.  He has incentive to ball out to maximize earnings for next year.   It's a good move, even if he provides very little.

Love this pick up! Real upside and that contract is pretty cheap.

Have they worked out a pension system through the NFL? Given the amount $ involved, you’d figure the NFLPA could figure out way to protect these guys from becoming penniless aside from pitching some OPEB seminars.

They have one.  I think you need to play 4 years plus 1 game to qualify.   Not sure how much they get though.

So does Ojulari take 13?

I like Ojulari.

There's a lot to be excited about if Uche and Ojulari come close to what they are capable of. Two under 26 year old edge rushers with 44 sacks between them. Two different types of players too. Let's go Vic, get the most out of these boys.

And if they can dump Huff in the process... so much the better.   Gotta hope Vic has some magic left in him after the amazing transition that Baun went through.

So if Ojulari has a good year is he a goner a la Becton or would the Eagles considering back a 25 year old Edge?

I guess the answer to that question coincides with how good Hunt and Nolan look in 2025.

I think this makes a Huff trade more likely too

Especially considering Huff, Uche and Ojulari are fairly redundant
