Someone do a quick inventory... what moves has Daryl Morey made since coming here that actually worked out well?   Are there even two?   I think the move for Kelly Oubre was a good move, last year.  Any others?

I dont want to ever begin to defend Daryl Morey, but if we can say one good thing, its that he has drafted (and UDFA'd) really well.

I want him gone, but I kinda want him here long enough to make the pick if we hold on to it.

It's pretty bad lately. If they're both free then we should do both when available but something needs to happen now

The software is free, if I were to do it and hit a snag, I don't have the time that it might take to fix. So I pay Mark to do our upgrades. So it's not entirely free. It's not super expensive, but it is an expense.

Smith, Hunt, Ojulari, draft pick, Uche is a solid EDGE rotation.

Tremendous upside and young. But Smith is coming off a serious injury. Hunt was a pretty raw prospect when we took him, although he looked pretty good as a rookie. Ojulari had frequent soft tissue injuries since he's been in the league. Uche hasn't done anything of note really since since 2022.  We could really use another EDGE who has some fun D ability.

I'm cautiously optimistic. But there's a lot of risk there too.

Giants fans seem mostly upset at losing him at that price. Issues appear to be injury related and run D. All positive reviews of his pass rush ability.

Just fan speak though so take that fwiw, which is very little.

I like to skim through that board (which their interface is really wonky and takes getting used to). They have some intelligent posters. They hate the Eagles and us Eagles fans, of course. But they respect Howie and the Eagles way of doing things. Not only that, they tend to envy it.

Go for it. This needs to get fixed. The lag is pretty bad

With Ojulari, Uche, and Huff...you are going to get one guy that plays well as a low snap edge rusher in rotation, one guy that eats snaps and doesn't play well, and one guy that gets cut.

Everyone is going to think that will be Ojulari, Uche, and Huff in that order.

But I'm not so sure who is who in this.  What I am sure of, however, is that Jalyx Hunt better grow into the starter, because none of these 3 are it.

We will draft a guy early as well. I think Hunt improving plus a top 100 pick on a rookie plus a rotational guy can give us the production we need.

A notable omission.

I think several DL picks likely but the goal is to not need a guy to come in right away and contribute

Lane extended, new DE signing, Jurgens becoming a bit of a mystery.

Strange thing to be annoyed about.  What is there about it that you don’t like?

Meh.   Sometimes you have to just cut your losses.

Especially when it will just cost more to cut him later

Probably trading him because Kelce is coming out of retirement

Yeah people don't seem to get that often.  Cutting a guy never costs you more cap in the long term.  It could push a hit forward to this year but that hit was coming anyway. And you likely save any portion of non-guaranteed salary for the year.

Makes sense to me, but Vic pulled a fast one last offseason.

I expect Vic to make full use of any coverage skills they have.  Uche has demonstrated some in the past.

I think his roster bonus is guaranteed for this year... $16+M.  That's why they need to trade him before that hits if its going to do anything for them on the cap.

He costs $5M extra on the cap this year, if traded before June 1.  His cap number drops to just over $3M this year, and the rest in 2026, if traded post-June 1, but before the roster bonus comes due.

Hey it's a small sample size, but Fangio/Hurtt/Washburn did a helluva job last year with that DL. They're not quite at Stoutland level of trust when it comes to signings/draft picks but I do at least trust their judgement. Just pointing out there's plenty of of busy potential to go with that boom with these EDGE guys

There isn’t any pressing, time-dependent news going on right now.  It isn’t like this is Super Bowl week. The window between now and the Draft is pretty much a lull.  So it is the perfect time for all of us to take a deep breath and enjoy taking life at a slower pace.

No doubt.   Last year they signed two LBs from the NFC South.   One turned out to be a complete bust.  The other was an absolute stud.  If they hit on 50% of the EDGEs they signed this year...

Why? Jurgens deal will get done eventually.

Considering we dont know the back issue he has, or exactly what surgery he had I guess the longer he goes without an extension the more people will question the eagles impression of his long term prognosis.

Until he is extended, some fans may wonder if the eagles decided to put off extension talks to wait and see how he responds to the procedure.

I think with both Jurgens and Reed they might say we’ll only pay you so much right now

Love the Ojulari signing, especially for only 1 year and 4 million. 22 sacks in 46 career games to start off his career is solid production. I can't imagine he won't be better here. Dude is going to be extremely motivated to ball out in 2025 and hit the market and get paid in 2026. Smith, Hunt, Ojulari, and Uche has the makings of a nice 4 man rotation at edge. It also puts them in a position where they can absolutely take an edge rusher early if the value is there, but don't have to force a pick if it isn't. I also think this spells the end of Huff as an Eagle.

Jurgens will probably be the last "big” move. They have until now and September to cross that bridge. Makes sense Howie is focusing on FA and draft.
