A lot of worthy opinions but one thing I'm sure of.  Week 18 was a glorified preseason game except against an opponent who wanted to lose and against players with a foot out the door.  I wouldn't read much into what happened in that game either way

I think it's too early to dismiss Huff

The mistake was thinking he could be a 3-4 OLB, it's obvious like Reddick and Sweat that he's a one trick pony.

So use him in that role, designated pass rusher for 20-30 snaps a game. I think in that role you'll get your money's worth.

Then draft/sign a couple athletic tweeners that most teams don't like in today's NFL and train them for the 3-4 OLB/edge rusher role.

Huff had plenty of opportunity.  He will still get opportunity but he's going to face more competition.  He will likely have to beat out Smith, Hunt and a draft pick for snaps.  He started last season at the top of the depth chart. He's going to be 2nd string to start the season.

I know you don’t believe it, but I promise that post wasn’t sarcastic.  You can kill me if you want.  I’m just making 1 observation on 1 play based on everything we know about Hurts as a passer up to that point in time.

Seems like Moore is taking everyone…Parker and Singleton probably gone.  Sucks.

Howies big star Fa got deactivated for the SB…utter GM failure

will try to polish that turd in 25 and get anything useful out of him only bc we are stuck with his contract

Howie is only good at drafting talent.  He is not good at free agency.

Guys, you know we won the Super Bowl right?

One day maybe Eagles fans will move past anxiety, Negadelphia, nitpicking and complaining and learn to celebrate and appreciate success. We were Super Bowl starved for 57 years. Now we've won our 2nd within 7 years with a young, stacked roster primed to repeat.

But let's talk about what a failure Huff was, or that one pass that wasn't perfect (yet resulted in a TD).

Staley is the presumptive DC, so I think Parker is safe. I don't have an opinion on Singleton. He might be a good coach with lots of potential, or he might be Aaron Moorehead or Carson Walch, forgettable and largely benefitting from the talented players in their position group.

The expected hires are still Staley and Nussmeier. A cynic might call those Rooney rule interviews but both guys are well thought of so you never know

Baun is one of the new leaders on defense.

If he's back...and I somehow forgot to mention Barkley.

Triggered? No just pointing out to you that you can't even say something positive without bringing up a bad game he had in the past. Your boyfriend played like absolute dogshit in the biggest moment and you'd never think to criticize him. He was outplayed twice by your own qb1 yet you can't stop saying yeah but you remember that one game where he lost? It's like taboo to support your own teams qb. You're pathetic

I'd say you're stalking me but you've clearly missed when I've praised Hurts for the NFCCG, SB, and other games/plays

You keep calling Mahomes my boyfriend. I'm thinking you're homophobic or you're in the closet. I hope you get help. That's not the way to live

Hell no to RB coach for OC.

Running QBs add so much to the running game. They screw the weakside LB into the ground because they have the option to keep the ball. I could watch those invisible Fred Warner plays on repeat from the 2022 NFCCG. Its 11 on 10 football. I'm not saying Singleton is not a great RB coach, but you can't project him to other things based on Jalen Hurts scares the crap out of opposing run defenses so Sanders and Swift can go nuts. Add Stoutland U on top of that and there is only so much credit to go around.

Lets see how he manages the winning. He failed bigly last time. Remains to be seen if he learned and improved.

I'm not sure I would agree with this. He tried to keep much of the team intact. On paper, he had a huge win by unloading T. Smith and his salary and replacing him with M. Wallace. He gave Foles a new contract to keep that insurance around that paid off the previous year. We were hit hard by injuries in 2018 and that was the main reason the moves didn't pan out. The strategy was sound, however.

We have really never been "sellers" under Howie and have always been "buyers" trying to improve the roster and stay competitive. That's a big reason why we have been able to get to 3 Super Bowls since 2017. You can't prevent all injuries and things aren't always going to go your way and we experienced quite a bit of that from 2018-2020. We had to change direction at QB and at HC and defensive philosophy and quickly recovered from lows to highs more than once.

Since we have a different opinion, what did Howie do wrong in 2018 in your opinion? What do you hope he learned?

I hope they at least interview Josh McCown to see what ideas he would bring.

Geez there's clearly a mental block in there.. Good day sir.

Thanks for sending me 2 total examples in the span of a 5 year career.   I can’t go back and forth with you people about it anymore though.  I’m not complaining about anything. It was an awesome decision by Hurts to make the throw.  He was near flawless these last 2 games of the season.

I'd love to get him but he'd be gone in a year

I don’t know about you, but I’m having a hard time getting excited about the Phillies this year. Good regular season, feel good about playoff chances, bats go ice cold at some point, rinse, repeat.

They took the straitjacket off off Hurts. He may have been kidding, but there was truth there. The mandate was no turnovers and offensive line pounding the rock. Can't blame Hurts for that. He never got into the rhythm of the passing game til he got more reps and opened things up. Most of this was on the coaching and play calling. Pretty easy to see. And Kellen Moore did nothing for me. What happened to all the motion and creativity in the offense he was known for?

All great points. If BG retires, and Slay is moved, the remaining veteran presence is Lane Johnson. We're going to see a changing in the guard with veteran leadership. CJGJ leads in his unique way. Hurts is the anti Brian Dawkins. He's a quiet leader on the field, but behind closed doors he makes his messages heard. Dickerson and Mailata are young leaders. They have a great mixture of young veterans who all lead in different ways.

Sayshawn and Gardner Johnson also took on a huge leadership role this year

My top choice is Mike LaFleur.  It'll be interesting to see if they interview external white candidates.  When they interview one white candidate and minorities for the rest it's almost certain the white candidate is getting the job and the process was a sham.

Their last two offseasons weren’t exactly thrilling. I tend to think they make the wild card round and lose. I think their big moves are coming 2026 offseason cause they can clear enough off the books. I’d bet they are in on Kyle Tucker next offseason with money coming off. He makes too much sense not too.
