He's a bigger part of the team than Don Smolenski now.   🤯

Goaltending is bad, but it didn't sink them this year.  PP again anemic for the 3rd consecutive season.  They barely have a 2nd line center, with Coots being the barely.  Their D is mediocre,  their zone entries are horrible, so many turnovers, Torts wants them to playbl at pace but they don't have the overall team speed to do it.  Torts yo-yos the lines so frequently  ( has had TK playing on the 3rd line recently!)  Torts is good for a solid veteran team, but perhaps the worst coach for a rebuilding team trying to develop the young players the Flyers have.

I would say fedotov has been good in goal lately. I know it's a small sample size but he's been looking good

Jalen Carter finished his 3 years at UGA with 6 total sacks..  I know DE vs DT.  Also, Reagor wasn't like Megatron size or anything just fast.  Stewart has all the athleticism you want in a position you want athleticism to reign supreme.

Jalen Carter was a DT and was consensus top 10 draft pick (talked about as potentially biggest talent in the whole class) coming out before the racing arrests and character concerns, even after the arrests Jeremiah had him at 6 on his 2023 big board.

Shemar Stewart has been mocked anywhere from mid 1st to middle of day 2, even the scouting boards can't agree on his level, Carter was an elite prospect at his position Stewart is a guy with the tools who needs coaching up.

Maybe he did say Don lol.

Knew it was coming, but still a tough thing to watch. He's my favorite Eagles "bust" of all time.

so if we stay at 32 who we drafting

Move up for the best possible d-lineman regardless of end or tackle is what I want. I prefer DE as I think that's the bigger need but just give me the best d-lineman, if that is DT then so be it.

He's the real head coach of the team. Sirianni is only a public figure head.

I choose to see it as a Travon Walker situation, and at 32 I'd take that risk (although I think a lot of teams ahead of us would as well).

Sounds like BG is going to get into coaching. Nice

There are a lot of players "scouting boards can’t agree on.” It’s this draft in a nutshell.

Danielle Hunter, Jason Pierre Paul, and Nolan Smith are 3 guys off the top of my head who surpassed their best season in college by year 2 in the pros. All 3 ended up much better. Edge more than possibly any other position is traits based.

So glad that not only did they win the Super Bowl in his final season, but that he got to suit up and contribute in that game as well.

I'm sure his number will sit on the shelf for a while before being handed out again, but I don't believe this is a retire the number situation.  There's so many players on the roster and only so many numbers to go around.

Already officially retired are:  5, 15, 20, 40, 44, 60, 70, 92, 99.

And out of circulation are:  9, 12, 25, 62, 86, 91... add 55 to that list now.

Interesting tidbits I found while confirming the retired and unofficially out of circulation numbers.    One number (Wistert #70) was used by MULTIPLE players after the player for whom the number was retired AFTER that player left the team.    And one number (92) is listed as being used by only TWO members of the Eagles in real games.  Ironically, the second player had it in 1985 when Reggie White joined the Eagles, forcing him to use 91 as a rookie before switching to 92 the following year.   That player:  The great Smiley Creswell!   Bruce Walker was given the number in TC by training staff, but Lurie put an end to that as soon as he saw it.

And on the topic of Bruce Walker... how bad was he?   He was cut as a 2nd round pick in his rookie season by the Eagles... And here's his RAS score:

Uche has already reached out to him.

BG played in the last SB recovering from injury.  They inserted him in the game even not 100% fit.  With a victory in that game, he could not have a better way to retire at the very top.  Well deserved all the praises during his long years with the team.  Wonder if the team will keep him around in some capacity?

My definition of fine is how a team is doing compared to expectations.

My expectations for a rebuilding team like the Flyers is showing progress in the rebuild.  They were doing that.  The NhL Salary Cap is more onerous/restrictive than the NFL Salary Cap, and as a result rebuilding is typically a longer process.

Those missing pieces were well known before the season started.  And with those shortages they still were right on the cusp of a wild card playoff spot.  And the young players were playing well.

The biggest problem they have is goaltending.

I think their biggest problem is goal scoring. Besides TK and an inconsistent Tippet, they need guys who can score. Michkov will help in the future. Their power play is atrocious. Same issue.

It'll be interesting when Lane retires since he's been at or near the top of his position for the majority of his career

This is the weirdest draft I can remember. Feels like 32 is not much different from 15.

Part of it is the mediocrity of the QB position. Aside from Hunter, Carter, Jeanty, Graham and Warren, the other propsects have some big questions.    Jeanty and Warren play positions that are not typically thought of as top 10 draft pick worthy.  Also, 2024 looks like it was a historically good first round with most of the QB looking like very good picks.  There's just not that kind of splash with his class.

Well Bernard Williams wasn't much better as a first rounder.

He and Kelce are possible retired number candidates.  Graham gets the longevity trophy, but no retired number... but it will likely take a decade or more before that number is given out again.

I’d like to just say, i am thankful i got to be alive through this era of eagles football. Seen two championships and a lot of great players. Furthermore we’ve had a lot of just good guys off the field as well which (if possible) makes those championships even better.
