This is the weirdest draft I can remember. Feels like 32 is not much different from 15.

I don’t consider that weird. Most drafts are like that … with tiers.

I received something, unexpectedly and something that I didn't order, from Fanatics via UPS today (I'll post a pic of it later). The note in the box says that it's from the "Fanatics Affiliate Team":

Spoiler

I'm assuming that they sent it because they got purchases from the board's affiliate link and we're a Philadelphia Eagles fan website and I'm assuming it's from them because the shipping label has my full name, address and cell number on it but if it was someone here that had it sent, let me know.

Yup. I used to tell my family and friends that it would be the most Eagles thing to do is win a title the year after. I thought that for the longest time I was never gonna see an eagles championship. Was a time i thought Phillies in 08 might be the only one i might ever see. Now the sixers and flyers have taken the mantle of i might never see them win a title lol

I 'saw' the Phillies in '80 and Sixers in '83.  But... I was 3 and 6 years old.  Zero recollection of it.   I do remember the Phillies losing the WS in '83 though.  So, those months between the Sixers winning and the Phillies losing is where my sports memories begin... well, that an I remember the Dick Vermeil show on CBS on Sunday Mornings... and I remember his tearful resignation PC in 1982.  So, I guess those are my real earliest sports memories... and not surprisingly, they are Eagles related, despite the championship moments for the Sixers and Phillies.

Maybe I missed it, but how does BG retiring effect the cap? I know he was a FA, but he had 4 void years on his contract.

I believe his dead money will be split over 2025 and 2026. $5.8mm this year, $4.5mm next year pet OTC. They set up him, Kelce and Cox to technically retire after June 1 to spread the cap hits.

My favorite reaction in the 90s was when they said our first-round pick only had one eye. He didn't play poorly, but I was like one freaking eye?

Jermaine Mayberry.

Strongly disagree. Normally that true 1st round cutoff is much later than this years. You could argue this year it’s somewhere in the top 10.

Hurts is saying "51".  Don't know what that means.

Shout to his center, of course.  He's gotta get him paid, ya know.

Wtf, that doesn’t make any damn sense. "We’re goin to cripple our offense and suck this year because we don’t want to hurt our QB’s feelings”

🤷‍♂️.  Why did the Eagles give Donovan McNabb the likes of Charles Johnson, Torrence Small, Kevin Curtis and James Thrash for all those years?   🤔

I think the impact was already the same because of the void years.   His contract ended, so the hit still hits, as far as I know.

so if we stay at 32 who we drafting

We will have a whole lot of flexibility and quite a few best player available alternatives. It is possible that one of the two safeties from South Carolina and Georgia may drop and that’s a possibility. There really isn’t any running back or offensive lineman that fits or quarterback. So that leaves us with the trenches on the defensive side, DT and edge as the other and most likely possibility.

There are still always tiers.  The size of the tiers changes from year to year, but subjective groupings is the norm not the exception.

So... with BG's career now 100% in the books, where does he rank on the list of all-time Eagles greats?   Does he go ahead of guys like Reggie White and Brian Dawkins because he played 15 years all with this franchise, whereas they left?   Where does he rank on the list of Eagles greats who never played a snap elsewhere?   Chuck Bednarik, Tommy McDonald, Brett Celek, Fletcher Cox, Jason Kelce, etc.    Does he rank higher than each of these because he got 2 rings?   Does he make it on to the Mount Rushmore of the Eagles?

Personally, I think if we have a 20th century Mt. Rushmore, and a 21st century Mt. Rushmore... I'd have a hard time not putting him on the 21st century Mt. Rushmore.

The big 4, as of right now... Graham, Cox, Kelce, and the fourth spot is likely going to go to Hurts... but I think it would be appropriate to put Foles on there too for breaking through the glass ceiling.    And as I type this out, I realize that Dawkins isn't one of the 4, and I can't understand why!   So, I'm putting a 5th face on Mount Rushmore... and its BDAWK!  🦅

Of course there’s always tiers, but the top tier and maybe even tier 2 is a lot smaller.

I think the proper Eagles Mount Rushmore, for the entire history of the franchise, is: Bednarik, Van Buren, Reggie and Kelce. That 4th spot is debatable. The 1st 3 aren't in my mind. Reggie left and won a ring in GB, but he's the best DE of all time and arguably the best defensive player of all time (him or LT).

Longevity is a nice accolade but just look at Peters

Lane could also be one of the four. Hes 48 games behind BG. If he plays his contract out and doesn’t miss more than a couple games he would pass BG.

Heck by the time Devonta, aj and Barkley are done here the case could be made for them. I’d not have them before those guys but testament to a lot of great talent.

Foles doesn't have the longevity but he has records that few QBs have

I’d argue by the time Lane Johnson is done (assuming he doesn’t go Jason peters at the end of his career) might surpass Jason kelce. Not in celebrity status, but if he plays out his contract he’s going to play 15 years and he might surpass Brandon Graham for most games played as an eagle. And he is a surefire Hall of Famer.

I'll reiterate that Mamula had more sacks per season than Graham.  So did about 15 other edge rushers.

Lane and Dawkins have arguments for that 4th spot. I'm predisposed to add McNabb (see signature). Lane is hurt by only being 1st team all pro 2x (3 second team all pros) as compared to 4 1st teams for Dawk and 6 1st teams for Kelce.

There's also the PED cloud with Lane that may impact him for the HOF.

Yeah that's pretty weird to send a letter like that.  It's either a very lonely person or someone pining for free merch or tickets
