Maybe I missed it, but how does BG retiring effect the cap? I know he was a FA, but he had 4 void years on his contract.

He has a cap hit of $9,018,000 which they will carry until June.  After June 1, he will officially retire, which will then split the cap hit over two years, $4,560,000 this year and the remainder next year.

He actually played for the team though.   Started all 16 games before his marijauna suspension.   Weird how he was finally let go officially by the team fairly recently considering he goes back to 1994 as a draft pick.

That was a helluva draft... 1994... and explains the collapse of 1997 and 1998.
Round 1 - Bernard Williams.  Plays 1 season, gets suspended for drugs and never returns.
Round 2 - Fat boy Bruce Walker.  Never even makes it through the final cut as a rookie.  (This was the 2nd compensation pick they got for losing Reggie White in free agency, the first they used on Lester Holmes they year before, if memory serves.  And the Eagles traded back with both picks... one in the middle of the first round (1993) and the other a sandwich pick between Round 1 and 2 in 1994.   And they failed miserably to find any quality players with any of the moves!)
Round 2 - Charlie Garner - that was a really nice pick.  Shame he didn't stay here longer.

And then just a bunch of meh.   Joe Panos (Round 3) and Mitch Berger (Round 6) lasted in the league for a while though.

There were so many misses in the 90's in the first round. 95 we took Mamula over Sapp.  I think we took Renfro with the compensatory pick. Renfro over Dana Stubblefield.  Jon Harris in the 97 draft.  It hurts to think about.

I'll reiterate that Mamula had more sacks per season than Graham.  So did about 15 other edge rushers.

With BG it's about his longevity, who he was to the team as a leader and of course the biggest play he made.  He was consistently a good player but rarely had Pro Bowl seasons

Lane and Dawkins have arguments for that 4th spot. I'm predisposed to add McNabb (see signature). Lane is hurt by only being 1st team all pro 2x (3 second team all pros) as compared to 4 1st teams for Dawk and 6 1st teams for Kelce.

Kelce getting 6 1st teams is hard to beat. Although i do think lane got shafted out of 1st team This year. I think he was better than Sewell. And i loved Sewell since he came out of Oregon.

saw PED edit. I think if he would’ve had the PED issue then was never as good of a player after that then it would’ve been a bigger story. But the fact that he had it and he’s been as good if not better since then he’s likely going to get in.

I received something, unexpectedly and something that I didn't order, from Fanatics via UPS today (I'll post a pic of it later). The note in the box says that it's from the "Fanatics Affiliate Team":

I'm assuming that they sent it because they got purchases from the board's affiliate link and we're a Philadelphia Eagles fan website and I'm assuming it's from them because the shipping label has my full name, address and cell number on it but if it was someone here that had it sent, let me know.

BTW, I ordered a SB hat for a friend via the fanatics link shortly after the SB and it has not arrived and I've received no notices.  Anybody else having this problem?

The longevity is fantastic.  The leadership and relentless yet hysterically wholesome trash talk are even better.  I just think the mention of Eagles Mt. Rushmore is crazy.

My favorite reaction in the 90s was when they said our first-round pick only had one eye. He didn't play poorly, but I was like one freaking eye?

Mayberry was probably the 3rd best 1st round pick in the 90s behind Tra Thomas and McNabb.  He was a solid starter and had a good career including, I think, a Pro-Bowl appearance.

I try to order things and it goes through but then I get an email later saying the order was canceled 🤷‍♂️

If we are talking about mt. Rushmore of all eagles history, i love graham but he’s not on it for me. I’d go Reggie, dawk, bednarik and still deciding between Kelce, lane, cox, Foles and hurts. If we are talking since 2000 i think more of a case for Graham. Id probably go dawk, Kelce, lane and 4th down to Foles, cox, hurts, BG.

That said by the time Jalen Carter is done if he keeps playing at this level and he likely is on that mt. Rushmore.

Good question.

So... with BG's career now 100% in the books, where does he rank on the list of all-time Eagles greats?   Does he go ahead of guys like Reggie White and Brian Dawkins because he played 15 years all with this franchise, whereas they left?   Where does he rank on the list of Eagles greats who never played a snap elsewhere?   Chuck Bednarik, Tommy McDonald, Brett Celek, Fletcher Cox, Jason Kelce, etc.    Does he rank higher than each of these because he got 2 rings?   Does he make it on to the Mount Rushmore of the Eagles?

Personally, I think if we have a 20th century Mt. Rushmore, and a 21st century Mt. Rushmore... I'd have a hard time not putting him on the 21st century Mt. Rushmore.

The big 4, as of right now... Graham, Cox, Kelce, and the fourth spot is likely going to go to Hurts... but I think it would be appropriate to put Foles on there too for breaking through the glass ceiling.    And as I type this out, I realize that Dawkins isn't one of the 4, and I can't understand why!   So, I'm putting a 5th face on Mount Rushmore... and its BDAWK!  🦅

Will be hard to keep Lane off when he's done too.

Honestly, he's definitely got a good excuse if he was passing up a photo/media op.

I’m pretty sure his wife is 9 months pregnant and can go into labor at any point. A couple weeks ago she said she was nearly 9 months.

A better question would be, "is obvious troll obvious?" Kylie is 9 months pregnant, doofus.

Too busy glazing a Hollywood guy to honor his former teammate.

Yeah, he was solid. We didn't have X or much information on the draft so when they said his name on ESPN I was like here comes another Harris kind of pick.

Of course there’s always tiers, but the top tier and maybe even tier 2 is a lot smaller.

I believe tier 2 is very large this year, running from the middle of the 1st Round through the middle of the 2nd Round.

I agree. He was drafted in 2010 but didn’t look like an above average starter until 2016 when he out of nowhere looked great. Before then guys like Trent Cole and Jason Babin looked like much better players. He also almost went to the Giants in 2014 or 15? I felt like we just re-signed him because there was zero depth.

Don't worry kid, keep writing him those fan letters. Maybe he WILL come to your birthday party with you and your mom in the backyard one of these years.
