Interesting we haven't seen any OC interviews from the Eagles yet. Maybe Howie is still recovering from the beer to the head.

Thanks for sending me 2 total examples in the span of a 5 year career.   I can’t go back and forth with you people about it anymore though.  I’m not complaining about anything. It was an awesome decision by Hurts to make the throw.  He was near flawless these last 2 games of the season.

Took me 20 seconds and one search to find those.  Do you really think there aren't more?  C'mon man.

Not sure who replied to me but someone actually said "he never throws back shoulder" and well, yeah he does, on occasion.  Certainly not that many but he can make those throws just fine.

This is pretty easy.  Let's try it again.  Do you agree with this statement below?  Yes or no.

"Despite his several flaws Jalen Hurts is a good QB who has played great when it mattered the most."

I know this wasn’t directed at me, but I’ll answer that question with an emphatic "Yes!”

Too busy trying to trade for Myles Garrett and re-sign Zack Baun.

I'm intrigued.

Nolan Smith is going to do what everyone hoped Huff would do, and then some.  I think Hunt is going to be just fine replacing Sweat.  So we are good there.

But we do need a rotation, especially considering the two up-front starters are pretty green.  So additions need to be made.

But...one would think that Huff would thrive in that role.  Limited snaps, mostly pass rush.  The problem is that's all we needed from him down the stretch this year too.  And he didn't even dress for the SB and was useless in the other games.  So if he couldn't capture that role now, I'm not sure how likely he is to do it next year either.

Still...we literally need a stand-up rotational edge rusher this off season.

I wonder if Ojulari from the Giants is a good possibility.  Kempski mentioned him as a potential target.  I do wonder if they would make a run at keeping Sweat.

I don’t know about you, but I’m having a hard time getting excited about the Phillies this year. Good regular season, feel good about playoff chances, bats go ice cold at some point, rinse, repeat.

Yeah, they are starting to age as well.  Not so easy to get into it going into training camp.  Let's see how they do out of the gate in April.

That was a sincere attempt to end the discussion at least for my part.

Sirianni has to hire a vet type like Fangio as OC who is a lifer coordinator the rest of the way. Or we will just be doing this every year. Not only do they poach the coordinators but most of the staff. This is getting stupid.

If there's any chance it's an outside candidate it's happening this week.  Combine starts next week and no one wants to take a guy who is leaving to the combine.  Also unlikely to hire a coach during the combine which makes the hire in March which is very late.  At that point it's Patullo and just going through motions

I have next to no interest in the Phillies this season. It's why I'm so happy the Eagles won, the rest of 2025 for sports until September doesn't excite me at all. The Sixers are a total embarrassment and they have a GM who is afraid to do the right thing and tank, but he also doesn't want to go for it either. He seems to want to straddle the line between winning and tanking, which in the NBA is like the worst place to be.

And the Phillies simply put... I don't believe in them. They'll have a nice regular season, but the league has figured out how to pitch to these bats. They will try to sell the fan base in spring training with "We'll change our approach!" and "We'll move guys around in the order to maximize our potential!" But I've been watching baseball long enough to know that crap doesn't work. It's just reshuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. If you want to improve the lineup you need to change the personnel and they didn't. I think they're one and done if they even get to the playoffs, and then starting next season I think they really fall off because a lot of their guys are really going to be starting to get more and more on the wrong side of 30.

Ignoring the value you'd need to give up for Garrett

That defense would be so nice

Huff will never be worth his contract. But have to use him correctly, as strictly a pass rush specialist like on the Jets and just forget about him stopping the run. He can gobble up at least 20 snaps a game. Has a prohibitive dead cap hit this year, so you build him up this year and trade him next offseason for a 3rd or 4th and all is well. Showed a glimmer, for a couple games with a bad wrist. Remember how Nolan Smith looked out of place last year, but wasn't really  healthy and turned the corner in one offseason. Has a clean slate next year and they have a spot for him. I'm keeping him for now.

Enjoy:

For as much crap as we give hurts that he can't read a defense and that Kellen can't run a good offense they studied kcs defense and it shows in this video as they used it against KC.

What they usually did to other teams they used against them to burn them multiple times. Interesting breakdown of the game. He is going to do a philly defense one as well

Their last two offseasons weren’t exactly thrilling. I tend to think they make the wild card round and lose. I think their big moves are coming 2026 offseason cause they can clear enough off the books. I’d bet they are in on Kyle Tucker next offseason with money coming off. He makes too much sense not too.

They're gonna extend Schwarber this season. Get ready for it.  But when Painter is ready to be a full member of the rotation in 2026 I think we see one of Saurez/Nola traded.

Yeah totally, Moore "opened up" the offense for the second stringers in a meaningless game to end the regular season, and then promptly closed it back up for the most important games of the year. Solid theory ya got there, Inspector Clooseau.

I think you're kind of almost getting the point.

Painter better look ready in 2025 because Suarez is a free agent after this year. Don't think they trade Nola.

My guess is Ranger at the deadline when painter is fully up at the mlb level and they deal Suarez for a bat. that or Suarez is moved to the bullpen for the rest of the year at that point and then let walk in FA.

Old news

No worries, we don't need to talk about Williams if you don't want to

I've already spoken on Hurts after the Super bowl,  and Williams. If you were really interested,  you'd pay attention.  But you're actually just interested in trolling.

We did win the SB with two new coordinators. Nothing stupid in that.

True. It worked out this year, but was a colossal failure the year before. Hurts going thru a new coordinator almost every single year of his career is wild. Counting from his college days as well.

The expected hires are still Staley and Nussmeier. A cynic might call those Rooney rule interviews but both guys are well thought of so you never know

Saints also already fulfilled the Rooney Rule on Saturday for the defensive side. Christian Parker will be a DC at some point but I’m not sure the Saints will make that jump with an inexperienced HC.

That’s a great counterpoint.  I critique 1 of his plays the slightest amount and praise him now nonstop.  Not only am I upset we won the Superbowl, but these celebration pictures you keep sending really drive the point home that QB1 is indeed incapable of ever making a mistake.

Singleton probably knows if Nussmeier is getting job but it raises his profile to interview.  Also if guys aren't getting looks at OC from Eagles maybe they want to pivot career elsewhere.
