What is missing from or not clearly identified on the roster right now?

It seems that the only starting position that is uncertain is safety.  We have players at DE, DT, RG, and CB that folks here seem to have some confidence in.

Well safety is uncertain, but if you tweak your question to what current starters are you supremely confident in, that opens up a lot more.

I'm not sure how good Hunt is yet. Or Nolan for that matter. I think they're both going to be very good, but I'm not certain. Right now we have Nolan who was really good for half a season and Hunt who was good for about 2 months. It's a position that could turn to a weakness really quickly if things don't go right. Could say the same for LB, RG.

Ideally they come out of the draft with an Edge in the first 3 picks who provides an insurance policy both short and long term.

He also violated logic with that move.  I have no idea what he was thinking.  He had no strength in that orientation... AND he allowed himself to get hurt by doing it.   Just dumb.

My thought was that if he could trip our OL by laying at their feet then they couldn't get the footing to push forward and his DL would get the push instead.

I thought it was a decent idea but obviously failed.

Did he try to roll forward, or was he just being pushed around by the pile?   From what I saw, he did nothing at all but just laid there like a piece of dead meat and got rolled over into the end zone.   The Eagles' OL gets lower than any other OL on that play, which is why they are so successful.  They literally root the other team out of the trenches.

The early demise of Andrews is probably my greatest regret in my time being an Eagles fan.

Yup, was tough to watch one of the most dominant young OLmen in the league implode right before our eyes☹️

The problem with the Packers rule change is QB sneaks always had players pushing the QB. So that's likely going to negatively impact the sneak while trying to remove the play

League should tell them to F off and adapt to stop it

Though I wish Nick didn't have the team use it so much. They treat it like the goal is to get close enough to use the sneak instead of having the goal to get the 1st

I disagree.  But when you average 5 yards a carry it can happen.

The play was before Barkley and his crazy yards/carry

Jags might counter with a bag of pickleballs

The first tiebreaker should be a Division winner gets seeded above a non-Division winner.

I made that same argument when this was discussed a couple months back prior to the week 18 lions/vikings game

The Defensive Holding one is nonsense, if they did that say hello to defenders holding like crazy every third and long as soon as they think they're beaten, because they know at worst they get a do over on the down.

I hate the automatic first down aspect of it.  Maybe it's still some resentment from SB 57 and the call against Bradberry.  The Chiefs got a first down on a pass that was uncatchable and in no way impacted by the holding call.  I think offensive holding should be 5 yards as well.

2024 - 4.9

2023 - 4.2

2022 - 4.6

2021 - 4.9

2020 - 5.0

They've been a good rushing team for years.

Thought Eagles could possibly be interested but I also doubted they'd spend anything on another LB

Should continue to be seeded by division the way it has always been or the nfl can go the same Fin way as nascar

Where did you get those numbers?

Swift and Sanders did not get the type of yards Barkley has per carry

If we were to trade for Travon we would pick up his 5th year option which would be in the $14-$15 million dollar range.

One of the last tackles.  Willis could be in play for backup. Fits Eagles mold

Way too much

Yeah, that was real Wile E. Coyote stuff - if he was able to anticipate the count better than anyone else, launch sidewise and cutdown multiple linemen in their stance... then he might have had real light bulb of an idea.

Meep, meep.

Total rushing yards divided by total number of rushing attempts.  Hurts runs the ball too.

How much is 2 seasons plus a comp worth?  Likely less than what a team willing to sign him long-term would offer.

So, you probably need to think of it as a long-term investment and who gets kicked off eagles island down the road.

Even if the timing wasn't right and he didn't cut them and trip them, just occupying that space conceivably prevents them from being able to step forward and generate the push they need.

The problem- he underestimated their willingness to just trample him.

I'll give them credit for trying, but with no leverage I'm not sure how he was going to occupy any space for any amount of time - it might have been more effective if he laid down like a log, can't get lower than that unless he starts digging a hole.
