Think about it this way on defense.

Subtract-

Josh Sweat's $10M

Brandon Graham's $5M

James Bradberry $4.7M cap savings coming off with Post June 1st cut.

Darius Slay $4.3M cap savings coming off with Post June 1st cut. All of those resources go into Williams.

And Dean's not getting a new contract this offseason. These resources now go to Baun.

Thinking we can survive these casualties with in house replacements and not miss too much.

It's easy to see putting those same resources into Baun and Williams this offseason.

And we know Howie's magic of restructuring contracts into more cap space. Think we are healthy here going forward.

Based on this, I add a LB and Edge pretty high for the 2025 draft.

I didn't even think about BG being a coach. Figured he'd just walk into the sunset and enjoy retirement like Cox did. He's definitely got that leadership role that would be good for a coach

I think he is going to coach.  Could be a great way to take his two trophies (as soon as I saw him flanked with those, I figured he is for sure gone) and stay involved without the physical toll.

Will be truly interesting to see what they do.  Sure wouldn't mind a train wreck for them even though really doesn't matter much to the Eagles until SB60.

I want to play the Bills, if I could choose who to take on for the next one.  Or the worst possible AFC team that gets there on luck, only to come out wrapped in duct tape for the SB. I do not care about it being a competitive matchup. I am fine with a beat down. I just want the back to back. Such a rare chance.

Bills would have been nice because I respect the fanbase and I think it would have been a great game

Just feels like Williams is gonna get the big Hargrave money somewhere else.

Slay I read all sorts of things so I am beyond confused on stay or go.

Agree. IF I was rooting for competitive next year, I want them.  Outstanding fan base.  As I have said before, they are like us, just hardier weather wise and have suffered even more.

But for the repeat send me some team that has no place being there and let us drop 40 on them.

Huff had plenty of opportunity.  He will still get opportunity but he's going to face more competition.  He will likely have to beat out Smith, Hunt and a draft pick for snaps.  He started last season at the top of the depth chart. He's going to be 2nd string to start the season.

Maybe a 3-4 team will trade for him or is that just wishful thinking?

Could be wrong, but it feels like a real chance that KC could take a step back for a couple of years.

Although, Allen and Jackson probably won't be able to stop pissing down their legs against Mahomes.

Maybe it's Burrow time for a bit in the AFC.

Yeah, I think they are in for a tough period now.

It would have to be a very late pick for the trading partner to take on that contract. Or, we have to throw in a pick from our end.

Wishful...OK.  Not so sure about the thinking part. :smoke:

Don't think it will happen, but would love another rematch with the Chiefs for the rubber match to finalize this era with an exclamation point and the official end of the Chiefs "dynasty" and the dawn of a new one here.

I still do have a hard time of totally counting out the Chiefs with another retool with Veach, Reid and Mahomes still in charge. Did that after the Tyreek trade and look at what happened. They will attack this offseason like crazy with Mahomes a year older. But they are sure racing the clock. And there still is no one super convincing in the AFC to count them out as well.

I was gonna mention this last night that to unload  Bryce Huff you might have to give up a pick. But i thought people might lose it mentioning it. Looking at overthecap and his contract, the only way you get any cap space is if you trade him as a post June 1 trade. So maybe there’s a team out there that likes him enough to take a chance and give you like a 7th round pick for him. But there’s a chance you might have to just trade him to a team that’s tanking or not gonna be good anyways, and they ask for a sixth round pick to take him off your hands and help you out.

A win against the Bills cements the legacy. I'd prefer another 40-6 vs Denver, LA, or Houston.

The only one right here is Kenny Gainwell. 😂 Maybe too high on Sweat and too low on Baun, Becton & Williams.

Drinking what green Kool aid exactly?

They all seem like decent prices (discounted), maybe not Sweaty to secure the rest… with the starting roster covered the draft could afford luxuries like a top end RB replacement. Pipe dream, me thinks.

I think Josh sweat likely gets somewhere between 17-19 mil per. About the only one really accurate to me. I’m guessing he gets a longer deal though but has void years

Just now, TEW said:

also,  the lengths seem off.

Williams will get a 4-year deal. Baun 3, Becton 2 or 3, and Gainwell 2.

I don’t think everyone is buying as high as many here think but still those seem low

Sweat sounds about right.

Hargrave got 20m a year at age 30. No way in hell Milton only gets 12 a year at 26. He might not hit 20 but its going to be 18+

Baun will be more like 3 / 35

Becton 4 / 52 unless he wants to discount in Philly.
