Yep. Time for Torts to bench him for some stupid reason 🤣

The stupid reason is so they can lose lol. You can't root for a tank and then yell at the coach for doing the think that makes the tank happen. I'm done with torts as the coach for this team but if you're trying to lose benching your best player will do that

Because there has been a trend towards lighter faster DTs by some teams.  Thing is that Jurgens actually has good size for the Eagles and they typically have big Gs. Dickerson is 336. (My guess is a huge portion of the Eagles sneaks are behind Dickerson.)  Becton was around 360.  Steen is 320.  Last year, that would have outweighed every Commie DT except Payne.  Green Bay has a light defensive interior.  Point being that when you have a QB that has leg strength like Hurts, it is pretty unstoppable and if he is being pushed by Saquon, the physics pretty much support the offense.  But what those morons at Green Bay don’t realize is their juvenile, poorly worded rule doesn’t equate for the low, quick momentum.  The push just tends to guarantee success that is probably around 90% without the push.  Heck, the Eagles line up all kinds of "pushers” even WRs.   But watch the pushers.  Their main job isn’t pushing, it’s gap responsibility adjacent to Hurts to keep players from getting under Hurts.

A lack of meat, for the want of a better word, on a roster is not a reason to ban a play.  If you can't defend a deep pass, don't try to ban it. Draft better DBs. Or find a better way to scheme against it.  Play 3 DTs on the line instead of 2, take time to scrutinise the mechanics, etc.  You can make good wine with very sour grapes

A&M can recruit, not sure they can coach.

Well the jury is still out on Elko but my FIL (an Aggie) doesn’t blink an eye when I say that about Jimbo Fisher.  What a financial disaster he was for A&M.

Love that my spellcheck tries to change Elko to Elmo.

McCord has been the QB I'd like to see the eagles draft this year as a non-1st round guy who seems to have starter potential. At the very least an excellent backup. Someone for the QB factory. Brand new Bootleg Football video on him.

By the way, Oronde Gadsden belongs in our TE discussion as well.

Most of this is about him being a dbag and a bad teammate and the coach that loved him being an ahole.  Not disputing that.  If those things weren't true, what he did on the field would be remembered differently.

What he did on the field was ignore playing team defense or set an edge or anything other than chase the QB.    They cut him.  CUT, because he wasn't good for the team.  In other words, the only time he was anything was when he was ignoring everything except chasing the QB.  The rest of his career he was a nothing burger.

Blame should fall on Reid too.

He was fired a month after Washburn.  He got plenty of blame.

Full podcast was a good watch. He says Saquon starts growling on the sidelines when he's in the zone.

TANK WATCH:

The Flyers are losing to the Stars 0-2 after the first period. They are currently in the 5th spot and have a legit chance of ending up 4 if they close out the season with a lot of losses. Pretty much the worst they could do with some winning down the stretch is fall back to the 8th spot. Considering they were in that 8-10 range a couple of weeks ago they are doing a great job having gone 2-8 over their last 10 games.

They got a point out of that game, unfortunately

Yeah we usually hurry up the sneak so they can’t put more weight on the field.

He is my preference as well.  I’d love to have him as an Eagle.

I’d like to see a UDFA flyer on the Canadian QB Taylor Elgersma as well.

I don’t claim to be a college QB guru, but I was raised as a Buckeye fan (sorry @just relax).  It has not exactly been a QB factory.  Yes he went on to Syracuse…but if he wasn’t even good enough for OSU, how good can he really be?  I realize that is not top-tier analysis, but I was never impressed by him.

Probably dont need one now that we traded for DTR. But McCord is the non-1st round guy probably most likely to have the best career imo. Possible starter.

Seems OSU has a reputation for not developing QBs. He went to Syracuse and got better.

I posted this yesterday- this is my UDFA QB target. Looks like a Hurts clone to me.

Or he went there and played against lesser competition.  I just prefer a QB with at least a little mobility

he also played with less talent around him. it may be all relative.

I do agree with you about mobility considering that a lot of what we do is based on Hurts mobility. I love McKee but the pick never made sense to me. Nor Pickett.

Mobility aside, I still think McCord is one of the best QBs this year. I think teams will look silly for taking some other QBs ahead of him.

mccord is a gamer.

Hurts wasn’t even good enough for Alabama

He was the scapegoat for Ohio losing to Michigan his last year
