Agreed 100% on everything except this year being the same.  I don't think there is as much explosive talent in this draft.  In the later rounds, where everyone goes off script, Howie will probably have the freedom to prioritize great athletes and will find some.

In rounds 1-2, when there are tangible expectations and downside isn't well tolerated....I'm not seeing many players in that range, with high RAS athleticism who actually did enough in college to make you feel safe using that kind of pick on them.

I think rounds 1 and 2 will present us with guys who were excellent, sound football players in good conferences and are merely adequate or above average type athletes.  I think this applies to most of the players going top 15, let alone the ones we'll have access to.

The eagles just brought in some OT prospects for top 30 visits:

Marcus Mbow — NA, but known as an athlete

Josh Conerly Jr. — 8.69

Anthony Belton — 8.08

Jalen Travis — 9.91

I think the emphasis on athleticism is good and well. Obviously opportunity is going to play a role, but the strategy is clear.

In trying to get creative for us at edge, I wondered if Jihaad Campbell could have some parallels to Micah Parsons.  Similar size, athleticism, and hype as off-ball LB’s in college.

One of the few smart decisions Dallas has made was drafting Parsons and converting him to an edge.

Watching old PSU Parsons highlights, I see a great NCAA off-ball LB waiting to be unleashed as an edge.  He always wanted to be going downhill.  Watching Campbell, I see a great NCAA off-ball LB who will be most at home as a great off-ball LB in the pros.

Just like Baun if we are lucky.

Saquon and Shipley will be on the roster for sure so, as far as the draft goes, if there’s an upgrade over Dillon where the Eagles are picking they would consider taking RB — but I don’t see the Eagles drafting RB before Day 3.

Who are the RBs in the Draft who are upgrades over Dillon and or Shipley?

Your question to me is a mirror back to you.  What relevance to you does a random person on twitter have?  I emphasize the "to you.”

if the answer to that question is, "No relevance at all” then why take the time to share that irrelevance here?

If there is a point of information provided, what does it matter who provided it?  The tweet points out that Roseman drafts players with a higher RAS score at a lower rate almost any other GM in the league.

The top 5 guys are all clear, decisive upgrades over Shipley.

The guy I really like is the kid out of Virginia Tech, Bhayshul Tuten. Tough running style and elite speed. Decent but not great hands. Needs coaching on ball security and patience to trust the blocking schemes, but I think he could be a good starter, maybe even more, with a year getting coached up.

I like Giddens a lot too. Very well rounded skill set.

How many $12 beers did that decision take?

😪 I hope something positive is done with this building and the great traditions that it holds can go on for as long as the building stands.

Yeah some people already consider Campbell and edge. He did those drills at the combine too.

Which makes me wonder if he won't go even earlier than he is already projected.

Is it information?  Without knowing the source all it is is noise.

I agree about the top 5.  How many of those 5 are going to make it to Day 3?

The RB from AZ, Jacory something-something, runs really hard - not a big back per se, but a real pain like Pacheco. I figure 5th round?

None.

I think there will be several, maybe even a lot, of day 3 guys who end up being better than Shipley, but my conviction isn’t as strong on any individual player. But the group is really strong and day 3 should yield multiple starting caliber RBs.

So you’re saying Dominic Morris isn’t on the board?

Jeepers, a 5 ft 8inc corner who runs a 4.93 and doesnt have short area explosiveness. Man's going to find it tough even getting a crack at making a roster.

Do you invest a Day 2 pick on him?

Understood, and in principle I agree.

Jacory Crowley-Merritt

GREAT loss today for the Flyers against a horrible Chicago team. They remain firmly in the 5th spot with 10 games to go and with Buffalo's win today the 4th spot is a real possibility. The Flyers are now 1-8-1 over their last 10 games, that's how to close out a horrible season the right way.

That’s him, well almost… Croskey - did well at the Shrine.

Siri didn’t like Croskey

Good day so far for the Flyers.  They lost and the Sabres won.  Now all we need is for the Predators beat the Blues.

Siri probably has some OK day 3 opinions.
