I’d pick him over Judkins…

We want the Preds to beat the Blues, but they won't.

Do you invest a Day 2 pick on him?

Yup

Yup

We have two day 2 picks with needs at DL, LB, and S and you want to use one of the day picks on a RB?  Hope to heck we don't do that.

I’d say we have a bigger need at RB than most think…if they go get another RB by round 3, I would not have a problem with it

I haven’t really watched Henderson as I suspected he’d go before the 3rd-5th window where we might be looking… but isn’t he similar to Shipley? I thought if we went in early for a RB, it would be for a bell cow as opposed to the scat back type.

Beat is right.  Brain fart on my end.

That was my thinking as well.

I was so incredibly high on Shipley last year I still think that if given the chance he can be similar to McCaffrey. Same size. Same skill set. Excellent receiving back, and runs hard despite not having the bowling ball build.

But hes not in position to get that kind of opportunity. This team doesnt need him to be a lead back. So hes unlikely to ever prove himself as that caliber of player.

McCaffrey can wear defenses down with his surprising physicality. But in limited carries as a RB2, Ill take the explosiveness of a Henderson, or Hampton over Shipley. Those are probably the only 2 I would play ahead of him.

Now, when it comes to replacing RB3... I dont know who would win the battle but there would be a much, much longer list of guys I would draft and let compete.

Say the Flyers complete the tank. Are there any can't miss prospects, preferably not on the blue line? Are there any centers with size and skill? Any right hand shots?

Hockey sucks. In bigger news, the 6ers lost tonight!

I also have a sneaking suspicion that McCord might surprise a lot of people and get selected in round 2. Nobody has him rated so highly. But seems like a guy where NFL teams will be ahead of the draft sites. The bootleg football video alludes to him as the sleeper QB everyone wants. Im guessing they know the NFL is buzzing about him.

This draft reminds me so much of 2022…bad year for teams that need a QB.  If i had to throw a dart at the board for a wish and hope that they can develop, I’m just going to say Leonard.  Probably the 2nd best tools in the draft after Ward…I just question if he has any grey matter.

Jeepers, a 5 ft 8inc corner who runs a 4.93 and doesnt have short area explosiveness. Man's going to find it tough even getting a crack at making a roster.

Ya, I’m still a FA…so I can attest to this.

Edit…holy moly.  I tested better at 29 y/o having only trained for 3 months of prep at everything minus my 40…which was hand timed and more than likely off when i did the combine.  I was running 4.6 in my practice 40’s pretty consistently prior to going to Seattle.

Leonard seems like a player who, if he doesnt make it as a QB, he will transition to a new position and carve out a career for himself. Hes just a tough, tough football player. He will find a way at QB or maybe more likely otherwise.

You can say that again!

The 10 mins of the Natty i accidentally watched because the wife put it on while i was checking on dogs and then lost the remote showed me that dude has some ‘it’ in him.  He pretty much single handedly kept ND in that game.  I think this is just such a horrible draft for QB’s though that idk that I have the typical ‘sleeper’ that you and i like to attach ourselves to.

DTR needed seasoning coming out of college.  Be real interesting to see what Loeffler does with him.  I suspect Loeffler will have a voice similar to Nussmeier last year.   I also suspect that he will be involved in the background of playcalling as he has much more experience at that compared to Patullo.  DTR can fit the Hurts offense so I still like him despite his result with a dismal team.  I found it interesting that he has coached with Moorehead.  I know it has been almost twenty years ago but I would be curious as to how @just relax thinks about his time coaching QBs at Michigan.  I think I like this hire.

I’m no expert on his coaching but he’s coached some good ones: Brady, Griese (Brian), Henne, Navarre, several others. He’s close with Brady; I know that much. Some of that coaching must have been decent or at least not destructive and I expect he learned from them too. That’s what good coaches do. I too think I like this hire.

I do agree, Leonard is a gamer. I dont think you want to be a team that is drafting him with any sort of expectations for him. Day 3, QB3 project, sure. I think hes one of those guys you just want in your locker room.

I wouldn’t touch him before the 5th for sure.  What do i know…i thought Anthony Richardson was borderline undraftable, but he went top 5.  On the other hand…2 of my fav ‘sleepers’ ended up getting us to and/or winning our first SB in Wentz and BDN.  RIP foles_era handle.

What matters to me is the Flyers build a team Brière and Jones envision, and not a bunch of guys Tortorella wants.

Check out Anton Frondell.  He is a lefty.  However, no "can't miss" prospects in this draft.

I'm hoping Torts is done after this season.  He has Tippet on the 4th line today.  So now he has had TK on the 3rd line, MM all over the place, and now Tippett.  Torts is a mess

Two trade rumors likely w/o any basis that I read today:

Huff to DET for a 5th… sure.

Howie working out the details of a tradeup to 24 with MIN… also fine with me.
