Just saying the eagles broke the Kirk cousins curse where no team that lost to him in a season has won a SB.

I think Becton is looking at a 2-year deal because teams will be wary of his injury history. Even this season he was dinged a bit. With this being his 1st season at guard, teams will view him as a risk. He's young enough to not need a long term deal right away --- if he bets on himself and wins, he could have a huge payday after 2 seasons.

Sweat sounds about right.

Hargrave got 20m a year at age 30. No way in hell Milton only gets 12 a year at 26. He might not hit 20 but its going to be 18+

Baun will be more like 3 / 35

Becton 4 / 52 unless he wants to discount in Philly.

I don’t think Becton will get that much. He’s a bit overrated here. He had a solid season but not great

Guys, you know we won the Super Bowl right?

One day maybe Eagles fans will move past anxiety, Negadelphia, nitpicking and complaining and learn to celebrate and appreciate success. We were Super Bowl starved for 57 years. Now we've won our 2nd within 7 years with a young, stacked roster primed to repeat.

But let's talk about what a failure Huff was, or that one pass that wasn't perfect (yet resulted in a TD).

It's not negative to say Huff didn't work. It's just the truth.  I am excited to see what they do.

They took the straitjacket off off Hurts. He may have been kidding, but there was truth there. The mandate was no turnovers and offensive line pounding the rock. Can't blame Hurts for that. He never got into the rhythm of the passing game til he got more reps and opened things up. Most of this was on the coaching and play calling. Pretty easy to see. And Kellen Moore did nothing for me. What happened to all the motion and creativity in the offense he was known for?

Moore did bring motion into the game which helped free up WRs in coverage.  The passing game wasn't as productive but I think that wasn't just about Moore.

Part of me wonders if his agent tries to get him tackle money by saying teams can move him back out to tackle if they prefer him there and that he has versatility to play multiple positions along the OL.

Those contracts look way off.  If those are real, the Eagles would keep everyone.

If his agent doesn't, he needs a new one. But teams will still view him as a gamble and that's why I believe he'll take a shorter deal this time around.

12M for Milton Williams? He'd already be extended.

I was gonna mention this last night that to unload  Bryce Huff you might have to give up a pick. But i thought people might lose it mentioning it. Looking at overthecap and his contract, the only way you get any cap space is if you trade him as a post June 1 trade. So maybe there’s a team out there that likes him enough to take a chance and give you like a 7th round pick for him. But there’s a chance you might have to just trade him to a team that’s tanking or not gonna be good anyways, and they ask for a sixth round pick to take him off your hands and help you out.

They are a little bit misleading. They could trade him pre or post June 1st. Spotrac just assumes the Eagles are paying him his 2025 option bonus that needs to be exercised by Week 1. Howie could trade him before exercising it and the numbers wouldn't be as bad as they are saying.

With that said, you are almost certainly giving up value or a pick for the other team to take and pay that bonus. Howie is going to have get creative with this one. I could see the final resolution the Eagles paying part of the bonus and doing some type of pick swap.

I think Baun will get 10-11. Less than Patrick Queen. Williams will not get 20 but he’ll get north of 15 imo

Yeah, those are probably also gtd amounts with lengths after subtracting the tacked on void years for amortizing purposes. Still though, I think some people were a little too excessive in their predictions for what some of these market values would be. I saw someone even say that Milton Williams was gonna get $25M/yr, essentially making him one of the top paid DTs in the entire league. All you can do is laugh.

This is the least excited I’ve been for Phillies baseball since Harper joined the team.

LOL. All those values are waaaaay off.

They usually are. They do not have a good process.

One of the players they picked to come up with this value is David Onyemata signing a contract 2 years ago when he was 30 years old. I'm not sure what that has to do with a guy who will still be 25 when he signs his next contract.

Javon Hargrove was a double digit sack guy.  Williams had 5 next to Jalen Carter. I’m not saying Williams isn’t very good. He is and I’d love to keep him but he’s a bit below where everyone has him. Maybe he’ll ascend even higher but maybe he won’t

The fact that they have decided to essentially run it back with a team that has gone backwards two straight years and has clear significant flaws is crazy to me. Dave Dombrowski is so overrated.

True, but the age difference and coming off of a great SB performance means teams will be paying for upside.

Agreed which gets him to 15 to 18 rather than 12 probably.   But who knows?

If they get Baun and Bechton back it’ll be a win in FA.

Add some depth at Edge, DT, CB, and OT.

Nah, they are straight average annual salaries.

They just pick similar statistical players and compare their contracts. But it removes a ton of context. Two of the players they use to come up with Milton's estimate is Dalvin Tomlinson who signed in 2023 at 29 and David Onyematta who also signed in 2023 at age 30. They don't consider how much the cap has gone up since then or that Milton is 4-5 years younger than those guys or anything else that you can't attach a value to.

Seems way low on Baun.  Berman was saying it might be vloser to $20M per.  Both Berman and that dbag Bo font think it's likely Becton is back at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if this draft is like last year and they go DL back to back to start. They might like Ojomo and Hunt, but if they lose BG, Sweat, and Williams they are going to need to address those positions with young talent.
