The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

Time for the Flyers to add another ex-player as coach.  They've repeated that on-again off-again cycle of failure at coach & GM for decades

At this point, who does everyone think will be our 1st pick in the draft?  One player I know it won't be is Walter Nolen...not because I don't want him, but because he is the most mocked player to us by the National folks at pick 32.  How many times has the national consensus of mock drafters been right about a player mocked to us?  Particularly when we draft in the late first round.

For the record, I'd be good with Nolen at 32.  Besides him, maybe Derrick Harmon or Donovan Ezeiruaku?

With all the visits for OL already, obviously we are showing strong interest there, but I can't see taking a OT at 32.  Day 2, sure.

I think in 2023 Jeremiah had us taking Nolan Smith but at pick 10.  He had Carter going to Seattle at pick 5.

What's "Harts" doing?   Could they pull him off the pre-game show and put him behind the bench?   Sure... why not?!  Let's go!

Scott Hartnell is the clear favorite.

Who is out there for coaches?  Would we go college rank with someone like David Carle from University of Denver?

Bringing in DE Tyler Baron for a top 30. He has the size I thought Vic may want at end. I like Baron as a day 3 guy. Maybe round 3 if he really impresses or if Vic likes him.

Never should have let go of Peter Laviolette. Can they buy out Rod Brind'Amour or use one of their 6 1st round picks to trade for him? He's the ultimate Flyer, even though he's more entrenched as a Hurricane now.

Whatever they do, they have to get it right what this coach. With Michkov here, cap space clearing and a wealth of draft picks, now is the time.

I'm no NHL maven, but even I can recall the reaction to Tortorella being hired being, he'll be gone in a year or two as he wears out his welcome at teams.  And here we are.

As for physical media, there are parts of the geek internet that are hardcore physical media hounds. Nothing is permanent on a streaming service and for some 4k is the standard. They also dislike nips and tucks made to classic movies, so are retaining fidelity with their physical media - original copies of the Star Wars movies are hot buys on eBay

I'm still scarred from Dave Hakstol. I thought the Flyers struck gold with him. Here was this young, successful head coach from a prominent college hockey program and he was going to turn the Flyers away.

They should've never fired Chuck Fletcher. He was the best GM in Philly sports history and probably NHL history. Once they fired him it completely derailed the franchise. And I'm still bitter at Bettman from forcing them to hire him because he was too dominant and they wanted competitive balance.

This is why I'm starting my media collection. Knowing that all of my favorite movies pretty much ended before 2015 makes it easy to make a list of what I have and what I'd like to bring in. Flea markets, antique shops, FB Marketplace and EBay are all filled with treasure troves of old movies for next to nothing. Eventually, I'll have all the movies, TV series and such that I want to cancel any subscription service. I turn on the TV and I'll watch Seinfeld, King of Queens or any other form of 90s sitcom, car restoration show etc. Nothing I watch is new.

Then as you mentioned, older physical copies make sure you have movies and shows as intended. There's no worry of a streaming service deleting episodes because a new generation can't handle humor.

I wish I had kept all of my CD's but they got lost in a move, so I'm nearly 99% dependent on music streaming services, and quite frankly, I'm OK with using them as it's so much easier for driving, the gym, being out and about etc. I'm building up a record collection slowly and purchasing an old tube radio cabinet soon. There's a guy at one of our local markets who restores them with a mix of original and modern components and the sound is AMAZING. Just a bit pricey so waiting for the right time to spoil myself.

Frustrating how both the NBA and NHL have had their say as to the direction of the Sixers and Flyers and both teams are worse off because of it.

Genealogy funnily enough has led to the biggest technological innovation in DNA to solve crimes that maybe we've ever seen. Genealogy databases have been invaluable to solve hundreds of homicides and rapes across the country and I believe within the next couple years some more high profile cases will be solved using it. Like JonBenet Ramsey and the yogurt shop murders case.

23andme isn't the database law enforcement uses though. They use a public one not private one.

I'm more concerned what happens if health insurance companies get their hands on that information.  Would they raise premiums on certain people if they see you are predisposed to certain illnesses?

At least this is better than last years slow season foot talk.

I really like the idea of day 2 developmental OT. Other teams that have bad OL coaches won't want these players, and we only have a screaming OT need in 2027 as long as Lane plays. The only concern is who is our backup OT in 2025? That's a lot to put on Kendall Lamm.

Kinnard?  It isn’t Lamm alone.

I already send my stool to the government once per year so they can figure out if I need a colonoscopy or not.  I’m not too worried what else they’re doing with it.

I do that too, just didn't know you could also get checked for colon cancer.

I’m going to say something controversial. Fred Johnson is getting overrated. The league looked at that guy and his play last year and he got close to a vet minimum contract.

He has us taking Shemar Stewart in his most recent mock.  Had us taking Starks and TJ Sanders in his previous mocks.

Being at pick 32 along with not really having a glaring need at any particular position (IMO) and Howie's recent "trend breaking" make for the ultimate wildcard scenario.  Eagles could go in many different directions.  Everything will depend on who's still on the board at 32 and if any other teams clamoring to trade into their spot.  Of course, Howie could always trade UP as well.

Charles Grant intrigues me a lot. Seems like a perfect project pick for Stout. Will be keeping my eye on that one for the 3rd round.
