I’m going to say something controversial. Fred Johnson is getting overrated. The league looked at that guy and his play last year and he got close to a vet minimum contract.

That's why I'm not sure how much stock to put into he left for more playing time. I guess in theory he has a easier path in Jacksonville but he maxes out as a backup you ideally don't want playing major snaps.

Not controversial at all.  @just relax has opined on the quality of Fred’s play in prior posts.

Thumb drives have grown pretty large so the same quality of a Blu Ray recording can be kept and stored on the thumb drive. They're more expensive than an equal number of Blu ray discs, but might be more convenient.

A potential problem though is that a single thumb drive is a single point of failure or loss. It can stop working and everything on it can be lost. Or it can be lost and everything on it is lost.

If the thumb drive is not copy protected, you should be able to copy the contents of a flash drive, including to a BluRay disc. M Disc has interested me as a long term storage medium but they do cost somewhat more than equivalent 'regular' DVD or BluRay media. I do have some flash drives that were written a decade or more ago that are still readable and they are generic, not premium quality flash chips.

Lamm is an upgrade over Fred Johnson.

I think the Eagles lost a lot this offseason so far, but I think they did a good job replacing some of the guys with players who are not significant downgrades if they are at all.

Adoree to me is the same tier player as Rodgers. Rodgers probably has higher upside at his age though.

Lamm>Fred Johnson.

I think they upgraded long snapper based on all reports of Hughlett.

I think they could have upgraded RB2 if Dillon is healthy, I think he's a better player than Gainwell.

Then in the draft we'll see about Edge, DT, Safety, others. And still more signings or trades to come.

Agreed a team that pays a guy 1.3mil over a week into free agency isn’t thinking the guy is going to be a starter. Honestly he could easily not make the team. He probably will but probably 20% chance he doesn’t

There was no link. Seems like fake news.

Craziest post in the last 30 years.

I hope I’m wrong…but this feels like the 2010/11 Phils.  Running it back with a year older cast.

This is why I'm starting my media collection. Knowing that all of my favorite movies pretty much ended before 2015 makes it easy to make a list of what I have and what I'd like to bring in. Flea markets, antique shops, FB Marketplace and EBay are all filled with treasure troves of old movies for next to nothing. Eventually, I'll have all the movies, TV series and such that I want to cancel any subscription service. I turn on the TV and I'll watch Seinfeld, King of Queens or any other form of 90s sitcom, car restoration show etc. Nothing I watch is new.

Then as you mentioned, older physical copies make sure you have movies and shows as intended. There's no worry of a streaming service deleting episodes because a new generation can't handle humor.

I wish I had kept all of my CD's but they got lost in a move, so I'm nearly 99% dependent on music streaming services, and quite frankly, I'm OK with using them as it's so much easier for driving, the gym, being out and about etc. I'm building up a record collection slowly and purchasing an old tube radio cabinet soon. There's a guy at one of our local markets who restores them with a mix of original and modern components and the sound is AMAZING. Just a bit pricey so waiting for the right time to spoil myself.

I have all my CDs; made sure to keep them and stored correctly through a couple of moves.  I have a decent stereo attached to some "vintage" speakers from the 80s - way better than streaming and more money for the artist too. But does mean I have a couple of iPods on the go when not at home.

If the apocalypse comes and the internet goes down, I plan to have too much entertainment to get through...

I wasn't alive during his playing years, but I always loved the old NFL Films programming that was on so I could learn about the history of the NFL. Mike Curtis was a favorite of mine to watch highlights of. I often wonder how if the younger generation of fans know about anything pre-Brady.

You mean 2012? 2010 and 2011 they were actually good and made significant moves. They just fell short. 2011 might have been the best team I’ve seen the Phillies have in my lifetime. Won over 100 games. Then playoffs Howard blew his Achilles and the cardinals beat us 1-0 in game 5. They traded for halladay and dealt lee in 2010. And 2011 they re-signed lee and believe they dealt for pence that year. 2012 is when they fell off the cliff and just ran it back.

I finally get my wish of schwarber in the cleanup spot. Hopefully it goes well

How does 0-4 with 3 Ks sound?

Eagles adding more OT depth. Pryor blows though so I doubt he's even a lock to make the roster.

It's official, the Eagles want Jeanty

Jeff edited the Pryor thing to just say OL so maybe the Eagles are bringing him as as guard depth.

He’s been more of a guard I think. This is a in case the draft doesn’t fall for an OL signing and there’s probably little guaranteed money

Still yuck

I don't think a single FA they've brought in is a lock to make the team. Not even the long snapper.

Wondering if they're waiting until May to sign a safety to avoid comp pick issues.

No, i mean 2010/11…probably more 11.  2010 proved that their aging core batting lineup didn’t have it, and they ran it again thinking that making some additions to pitching would fix the broken and inconsistent aging lineup.

They’re going to be good enough to get excited and think ‘this is our year’ at times.  The bottom hasn’t completely fallen out yet.

Also, in the back of all of our heads we all know the Dodgers are a repeat of the 2009 Yankees right now.  Except with inflation instead of spending a 1/4 billion buying a WS they’re at a billion.  So hard for me to get excited when that ish is allowed to happen with the money they’re deferring.

Wild to think that 15 years ago the Yankees going on that ‘spree’ for 3 players is nothing compared to what LA is doing.
