What position you play, you strike me as a loosey😉

Wing.  Back in the day I was skinny and fast.

Hate to break it to RTK, but the 2024 Eagles placing on the all-time list in 25-30 years might suffer because the QB won’t be viewed as an all-timer at the position

Hey me too.

Id like to think I would have played FB, I played soccer before football and could kick a little and played safety in football so seems it would fit, but alas I only ever played touch, mucking around with friends

Question for you

I maintain that rugby is actually safer, injury wise than football, from a guy that played both im interested in your perspective.

This feels less like Josh Sweat to me, and more about the Eagles not wanting to pay him given all the injuries.

He's there for them in the playoffs and he comes up big.  That's more important than missing five regular season games.  And they have not done well with a succession plan as Calcaterra isn't 1/4 the all-around player Goedert is.

It is because of the lack of pads IMO.  In football you have larger people launching\spearing themselves to knock someone down or out of bounds.  You can only do that because you have a helmet, pads, etc.

In rugby you have none of that, so it's all about proper tackling.  Sure, you will get similar soft tissue injuries, etc, due to something twisting\bending the wrong way, but the concussion risk is WAY lower.  I personally think bone injuries is lower too because of this.

Now being that said, I did get a few concussion or two due to taking a knee to the head at the bottom of a scrum.....

Actually mine was a serious question … one that the emoji was trying to invoke.  It wasn’t a question to you individually.  It was a question to the ether.

Couldnt agree more, ive stated numerous times over the years that if the league were serious about player safety theyd get rid of hard pads and move to soft pads.

Hard pads give one the illusion that they are protected and leads to people doing things like as you say launching and spearing with their head that they wouldnt other wise do.

I also think getting rid if hard pads would increase scoring and put more emphasis on running the ball and team/gang tackling

Can you imagine  trying to tackle a guy like Christian okoye without being able to launch your head into his knees or ankles

I mean look at the dejean tackle of king Henry, was a perfect form tackle, wasnt even high impact slobber knocker was just cheek to cheek lift and drive, looked more like a rugby tackle than a traditional high impact pad popper.

Getting rid of hard pads will never happen but id be all for it.

I get peoples concern on Davis but the concern over picks spent 3 yrs ago seems like a sunk cost fallacy. Nobody values picks more than me, but getting them right is far more important than how many you make. Impact over quantity before day 3.

now do i extend him? Not so sure about that but the 5th yr option is a no brainer at that price. Can defer the decision until you have more information.

It speaks to expectations.  He hasn't lived up to expectations.

"At that price" makes him roughly the 30th highest paid DT in the entire NFL... playing between 35-45% of the snaps.  Is that good ROI?

Why does every sports commissioner gotta be awful?

There is a lot of ignorance in the NFL. They don't do a set play at the goal line where everyone stops, lines up and shoves in unison. Find a better excuse to ban it than "rugby" play

They are using the ignorance to push the idea that it is a rugby play, and they don't care that its not accurate.  But, the bigger ignorance is that the current iteration of rugby and football have the same roots... so there's no reason to ban something in the current iteration of football because it approximates rugby too much.  There's a ton of things that approximate rugby, most obvious the craziness that can ensue on a last second, last ditch lateral play like the Stanford band play between Cal and Stanford.

After the initial forward pass... is this rugby or football?

(Btw... cut the guy that's just squatting a mid field throughout the play!)

Granted, there's no blocking in rugby... but there's a lot of 'rugby' in these types of plays.

For what?

I'd be pretty surprised if the Eagles didn't lean defense in this draft, especially DL.  Graham, Sweat, Milton Williams, Slay, Gardner-Johnson, Rodgers all gone.  DL is a very frequent first round pick for the Eagles and there is a solid availability of DL in this draft.

Full disclosure -- I've been pretty surprised before.

they need to develop a play with jordan davis just trucking the defensive front into the dirt and 26 walking in clean

Guess Diana R. does have good intel then.

Everyone should log out then log back in using your email address just to make sure you have the correct email address. Once the upgrade is completed, that's the only way to sign in.

The reason for that change by Invision is that everyone knows your username, so part of a hackers job is already public (your username). But your email address isn't known to the public. So it makes it harder to hack.

So make sure now that you know the correct email address to use.

For being a little btch?

Goodell doesn't like the fact the Eagles are superior to the Giants and Cowboys. His top two markets. He wants to bring the Eagles down a peg to try and close the gap. That's what this is about from his end. If the Cowboys mastered this play, there is zero chance he'd want it gone. Leagues ABSOLUTELY HATE when Philly teams are great because Philly success means NY isn't having as much success. Because in all the sports Philly teams play in the same division. Except in the NFL that also includes Dallas, the NFL's #1 box office and ratings franchise.

That's what this is all about.

WOOHOO 10,000 views on YouTube! Still only a small drop in the bucket of what's needed to get monetized, though. We only have 6 eligible hours of viewing, out of 4,000 needed and 95 subscribers out of 1,000 needed.

I knew that the Super Bowl clips would increase traffic. We don't get anything out of it other than exposure, but we're now more than half way to 20,000 views. Still have a LONG way to go though to be able to monetize, and with copyrighted stuff on there, that's an iffy proposition. But getting people over here, even just as guests, is a good thing.
