I think he is busy coaching our defense.

Wtf was that foul on flagg?

Wait, that is the call you objected to?  Their big men should have fouled out in the first half.  Righteous win for Kelvin.  One more team to face.  I will be honest that when the Coogs were down 11, I kind of sat back and watched the game.  Then they cut the lead down and I thought maybe, then Duke went back up and then the Coogs turned up their defense and rebounding and finally the refs started calling Duke fouls.   Then my man Roberts took over and took the lead.

Go Cougars.

Not that hell last til 32 but yeah hes not an elite in line blocker and doesnt mean he cant become one, hes got good length and strength and as stated came from a run heavy team.

None of the top TEs are great blockers, Warren has shortish arms and is just ok, Mason Taylor is still filling out his frame, and loveland as well needs to get a bit bigger, the kid from Texas is kind of in the same category.

Ben yurosek from georgia is intriguing as a possible scheme fit for birds, georgia used him in a multitude of ways as a blocker, in motion, in line, detached and hes a capable receiver, more so than say jack stoll

Calcaterra is a pretty good receiver, he sure gets up field quick once he gets the ball, but as a blocker he leaves a lot to be desired

The two new guys arent great run blockers either and Jenkins im assuming hes back as a former WR still needs a lot of work as a Blocker.

Who knows maybe they cant trade goedert and keep him this year, hes a great blocker for the 10 games he'll play but after him theres a significant drop off in run blocking

I do think there is a lot of projection you need to do at TE, as a position, which is why so many first rounders seem to fail.

I like Warren more in the long term as a blocker. He’s bigger and seems to enjoy being physical more. Loveland has more experience, but he whiffs a lot on blocks from what I’ve seen.

I like Helm, from Texas, as a blocker. I think he can step in and do it at a decent level from day 1 and develop into a plus blocker. Taylor is more of a projection but I think the potential is fairly straight forward.

Calcaterra is a good blocker when he’s put in motion or pulling, he just doesn’t have the power to do it as an inline blocker. Unfortunately, that’s what we need.

Nah.  It's just the reality for a US sports fan.  I really tried to like soccer.   My uncle is a big soccer guy.  He played soccer in college, lived and breathed it, and he came to stay with us for a bit during the 1994 World Cup when it was in the US.  And I watched multiple games with him as a teenager, trying to learn what was so great about it.

And then I watched the Finals that year... a 0-0 tie that ended with penalty kicks.

So riveting...

30 years later and I can honestly say, I haven't missed a single game.

I think as a participant sport soccer is very good. You don't have to be 6' 5"+ or weigh 270 lbs. with a nasty disposition to be good at it. As a spectator sport it's an effective sleep aid for me.

Ovechkin broke the goal record but I don’t think anyone is ever coming close to Gretzkys point record. It’s absolutely absurd.

Has Romano had a 'good' outing yet for the Phillies?   I can't remember one.

The one he sat on the bench all game

Lemieux was the only other player who played the same style with the same skill level.  He scored at the same rate, but his back never allowed him to stay completely healthy — then he got cancer.

Strangely enough, Montreal dominated the league from 1976 to 1979 playing a defensive trap game.  The Islanders came along and could play any style they wanted and won from 1980 to 1983.  The Oilers played offensive firewagon hockey and won between 1984 to 1990.  Lemieux and the Pens won in 1991 and 1992, then the league swung back to the trap teams like MTL, NJ, and FLA getting to the finals.

Now, the league is watered down to the point where every team just plays the same boring style of game.

Isn’t it a bit early to make that determination?

I think by early April everyone should know who sucks and who doesn’t. Batting averages never go up or down much after that point, and the same is true of ERAs, I’m sure.

Of course, which is why I said 'approaching', the jury is still out...  And yet, we knew right away Huff was providing nothing.  But Romano needs to get it righted, because his current track is really bad.

As of right now, they can't put him into high leverage situations and expect it to work out well.  They brought him in that spot today and nearly cost them the game.  Fortunately the Dodgers' reliever also imploded, but not until he had given them a couple good innings.  Ultimately, Topper needs to be smarter with him right now. Clearly the guy isn't right, so don't put him into tough spots and expect it to just all work out ok.

I listened to Topper after the game, he's perplexed too.  And he wants him to work through it, but he needs to work through it in lower leverage spots.  Right now, he's not that guy.

It took several hours to compile this, but I finally got it done.

It's every point that the Eagles have ever scored in a Super Bowl, from Super Bowl XV through LIX. I added a little extra audio to the Philly Special clip, since it's out there and was easy to sync up with the action.

Thanks for that!  Great stuff.

I do have one suggestion … can you put the EMB email address banner at the very top of the screen.  That will be much cleaner graphically.

If I had been quicker I would have traded down at 165 and gotten two picks and picked up Minyen a bit later and used the additional pick to take Zach Frazier, who was still on the board.

I agree wholeheartedly that it is perplexing, but unlike Huff who only had one good year, Romano has had four prior to his injury year in 2024.

Guess this has a new meaning given how much I have seen of it on my Twitter feed.  Damn politicos, we had him first.

Sure.  Of course, none of that matters right now.  Until he gets it back... he's Seranthony Dominguez.  Seranthony has great stuff... and when he's on, he's unhittable.  But, he hasn't been that guy consistently and you never knew what you were going to get with him.  Right now, that's Romano.  His velocity isn't there, his command isn't there and he's not trustworthy.  He got bailed out by Realmuto in Game 1 of the Dodgers' series to get a 'save', but that's really JT's save.  Relievers do this.  They can be great... and then all of a sudden... they are terrible.  (Alvarado last year leaps to mind.).  They have to stay with him, BUT they do not have to stay with him in the same role as they imagined when they brought him in.  They have to adjust until he works through this.  And if it lasts all year... so be it.

No TE and Arroyo was available at 85 in this mock.

I watched Arroyo’s film.  He’s pretty good but I didn’t come away all that impressed.  He seems to get called for a lot of penalties, which is concerning.

I’m not sure I wouldn’t prefer Gunnar Helm, tbh.
